If you guys enjoyed the unforgiving world of Rain World, and don’t mind more grit and a darker tone, you might enjoy this game as well.
Just wanted to throw my recommendation out there, as it feels to me like this game could be right up the alley of Rain World enjoyers. I will say it has a darker tone than Rain World if you can believe it, and it might turn some people off with what it depicts and why, but it’s all for the purpose of art, and I believe it fits in with what they are going for. Sorry if I felt like I had to explain this one a little bit. If It made you curious, you can check it out
MIO: Memories in Orbit has a Portal reference in the background
In MIO: Memories in Orbit, the Pure Nail is hidden in the background of Mel's shop (It's hard to see without freecam)
Knuckles LMS be like
Just pretend Metal is Fleetway or 2011X
I reached Emerald, but not without the game giving me a close shave first
Just discovered: if you die while crystalizing nacre droplets, you get negative money AKA the game puts you in debt
It's just funny to me that AAA companies chase the most cutting edge hyper realistic graphics, only for two of the most critically and commercially acclaimed games in recent memory to look like this.
And I mean that in the nicest way possible, these games are amazing.
Nine Sols and Mina The Hollower Steam Game Bundle
I'm sorry, Gouie
I *almost* feel bad... *almost*.
Whipped this up in like 5 minutes so it isn't the most polished thing in the world
So, what stage do we think Mina will be bringing with her?
Context: she got announced as an upcoming guest character for Rivals of Aether 2, with her slated for release in 2027.
The obvious surface level choice is the town hub of Ossex, but to be totally honest, it seems pretty basic, and wouldn't make for a vibrant stage at all. I would much rather have one of the more unique looking areas like Nox Bayou or Coltrane Peak, but I think Astral Orrery blows all of the other locations out of the water, and would be my #1 pick for a stage. It would look absolutely beautiful in 2.5D, and the music slaps.
So the guest character floodgate is open now... So who's next?
Honestly, aside from Mina, I still think Sybil is just the guest character that would fit this game the best, given that she comes from a 3D platformer Metroidvania with extremely expressive movement, and she would have a very unique moveset. Even before Mina was announced, she's always been my #1 most wanted guest character in this game, with Mina taking that #2 spot, so now I just need Sybil, and I'm set for life.
