6/30/2026: When approached, Olive was lying down. She slowly stood and moved forward. She left her kennel at a slow pace and bear-crawled all the way to her new kennel.

7/2/2026: During a move adoption, Olive was evasive in the run and had to be cornered so a leash could be placed on her. She moved extremely slowly with a low crawl and was too large to carry, so staff waited for her to walk at her own pace. When she completely froze at the doorway, she had to be lifted over the threshold.

6/29/2026: Intake condition noted as minor condition. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, and given flea prevention.

6/30/2026: Weighed 70.0 lbs. HW High Positive.

So I've found this bee on the sidewalk, it's been quite a journey after that.

She lied on her back and couldn't get back up. When I offered my finger she clung to it right away. But she wouldn't fly away. She seemed shaky and weak, so I kept her in my palm and took her home where I offered her sugar water. She drank a bit but was still unwilling to leave my hand. She just sat there and cleaned herself. As silly as it sounds, I let her sit on my hand for like 4 hours. I just went through my emails and thought she'd fly away once she feels better. But she didn't. When it got late I placed her in one of the bigger flower pots (of a plant that was losing quite some leaves so she could hide, which she did). The morning after she must have tried to fly since I found her on the carpet (not far from the pot though). Put her up, offered more sugar water but she didn't seem interested. I put her in a plastic tray with leaves and different flowers, which she seemed to like as she was eagerly crawling all over them. But again, no flying. No attempts at all. The tray was open the entire time, she could have left whenever she wanted to. But she didn't. After a while she seemed to hide between the flowers and just... Died there.

I feel like an idiot but I'm genuinely heartbroken over this little bee. I wanted to help her get back up so so bad. Was she just old? Did I do something wrong?

There weren't any bee hives nearby where I found her.

I also can't really tell what kind of bee she is/was.

Oh well, at least she died safe, warm and with the scent of flowers around her. Rest in Pollen little BeeBee.

✨️ Behavior Notes: Laney is a friendly, social, and medium-energy dog who was easy to handle and affectionate with people. She was initially cautious around unfamiliar dogs but communicated appropriately when she needed space. Once comfortable, she relaxed, exchanged friendly greetings, and enjoyed playful push-pull play with multiple dogs. Overall, she was social, playful, and non-reactive during her assessment

This affectionate pup was pacing and spinning in circles in his kennel and the kennel had blood on the floor.  He was taken to the clinic where his paws got cleaned and is being monitored, but he could benefit from finding rescue placement as he is feeling very anxious in the shelter environment.

4/29/2026: Iris came in with tense body, tucked tail, and worried face. Had to be muzzled to be worked up. When trying to walk her to her kennel she began thrashing and had to be pulled with a blanket to her kennel.

4/30/2026: When opening the kennel door, Iris was laying in the back of the kennel with her legs tucked under her. Once leashed she stuck her head in the back corner of the kennel. She showed no interest in treats nor baby talk. I had to muzzle and carry to new kennel.

4/29/2026: Weighed 30.0 lbs. Condition severe. Heartworm test High Positive. Vaccinated with DA2PP-V, Bordetella, and Rabies. Dewormed. Given 1.00 Pyrant and 1.00 Advantage Multi Dog 20.1-55lb.
