Adventure/dual sport riders: don’t trust the phone mount off road

I just finished 300kms of forestry roads and stopped to take a quick shot of an elk with my iPhone 14 Pro Max and this is what I got. The vibration dampening is acceptable for the road, but not good enough for dirt. Thank goodness for Apple Care…

Has anyone actually snagged a sailing using the BC Ferries notify me function?

I’ve received about 30 notices of cancellations and by the time I get in the queue, pick my sailing, enter passengers, enter the vehicle height, enter the vehicle length and then proceed to sailings, they’re fully booked again.

Sounds like a great idea in theory, but I have had zero luck with the system so far.

Ford Maintenance Plans and Extended Service- yeah or nay?

I’m about to take delivery on my 2026 F350 Tremor 6.7HO. I plan on keeping this truck for a long time. What are feelings on the Ford Premium Care ESP and/or Maintenance Plan? I umpire about 12k kms per year, with 4-5kms towing.

6.7 owners- is the HO worth the extra $3-4k on a new truck?

I’ll be joining your club very soon, and have a few Super Duty F350s that are in contention.

My question for diesel owners is other than the obvious extra horsepower and torque are there really any other advantages to spending the extra money for the red badge?

Are there any advantages to the standard output other than price, e.g. reliability or fuel economy?

Looking to upgrade from a Rebel 1500 to a Limited 3500, but the cab is a definite downgrade

My 2021 Rebel 1500 is an absolutely brilliant truck at everything except for towing my 28ft travel trailer. It’s powerful, refined, great off road and has an outstanding cab. I really want to stay with Ram, especially with their current promotions, but the 3500 cab is such a letdown with it’s shite sunroof, low headliner and floor hump.

Has anyone made the leap and regretted it based solely on the cab?

Starlink Mini Vehicle Roof Mount- where are you routing the cable?

I currently have my Starlink mini mounted on the roof of my truck using a Veritas vans mount and putting it through a crack in the slightly opened rear slider. Just wondering where everybody else is routing their power cable.

Hey, neighbour. Turn off your fucking exterior lights.

That irritating light won't stop the person who wasn't going to steal your shitty gravity chair, anyway.

For the love of Dog, please stop quoting “towing capacity”

Towing capacity is a meaningless number that would only be useful if the TV and trailer were on a flat, straight, smooth highway with no wind or potential obstructions. Towing capacity is what shitty RV and car salesman give you to sell you something.

Milwaukee M18 Battery For Mini

I bought a cheap adapter to run my Starlink Mini off my Milwaukee M18 batteries, and I’ve come across a couple of comments mentioning a voltage regulator to protect the them from completely discharging. If I keep an eye on the batteries, do I really need low voltage discharge protection?

Anyone want to DM me a referral code for my new mini?

I hope this post isn’t breaking any soliciting rules, but I ordered a Mini from Starlink and cancelled because it won’t get here in time, and bought from Best Buy. Looking for that free month referral code.

What are the chances I get my Mini in time for my trip?

I ordered a Mini on Jun 24 and the order is still in PENDING status, and I have the EXPECTED TO ARRIVE between July 9-16. I’m leaving on a three week camping trip on July 20.

Think I’ll get it in time?

I’m in Canada.

I’m about to pull the trigger on Starlink Mini. Can you spare a fella a few tips?

We need internet service for about a month in the summer while camping in our trailer, and will most likely use Starlink from October-April when our trailer is at the ski hill. For context, I’m Vancouver, British Columbia.

My questions are:
- If I buy from Starlink will I be immediately charged for service, even while the unit is in transit?
- Is it better buy from a store for $349 and not be immediately charged for data?
- if I buy directly from Starlink and I’m charged immediately for the month, should I just suspend service until I get going with my trailer in three weeks?

Camera backpack: you get one choice

I have the Travel 45, Outdoor 45 and the Everyday 30, and I think I’m done with the Everyday for my Canon R6 and lenses. I never use the side access on my Travel 45, either, and the Outdoor 45 is great without side access.

All I need is Capture.

Has anyone in the history of Africa Twin ever sold a stock skid plate?

I see so many stock skid plates with absolutely asinine asking prices and I’m wondering if anyone has actually sold a stock tinfoil skid plate.
