I brought a little rover to a baseball game and this is what happened

One of my favorite things about baseball is the atmosphere outside the stadium before the first pitch.

So I brought along a little rover (I called it Irra) to see if it could add to the fun.

I filled it with candy and cheering lights, and drove it outside LG Twins baseball game in Seoul. I honestly didn't expect so many people to notice. Seeing complete strangers smile, laugh, and interact with it before the game made the whole project worth it.

Here's a short video of it. If your college baseball stadium had one of these driving around before the game, would you say hi?

How to wrap highly curved (vertically and horizontally) edges?

I'm trying to wrap an actual radio-controlled car (not a video game). Attached is the body. My question is how do you wrap the rounded edges in the circles? They would wrinkle but how to avoid it? Must I stretch it? Or is there any other solution?

How "hard" must hardtech startups be? I will not promote

My meaning of hard is difficulty and not opposite of soft. Is a PC hardware startup considered hard enough? Is there anyone doing something similar and managed to be categorized as hardtech?

I got nothing else to ask really but I keep seeing the message "Your post must have at least 250 characters."

Got an email saying "Project We Love Badge Status" but is it legit?

The sender email is a Gmail address (Kickstarter Curated Team <info.kickstartercuratedteam@gmail.com>). I checked the other tracking URLs in the email and they all point to kickstarter.com.

Can someone please help me to verify this?

What's your experience with Bakers Bridge and Backers Info?

They contacted us with the below.

>Pricing starts at just $10 to reach 100 super backers. You can learn more here:https://backersbridge.com/

>Our pricing is just $100 to connect with 250 super backers. More Information - https://www.backersinfo.org/

Are they legit? We got burned by agencies like Hyperstartr before so once burned twice shy.

Trying to implement pressure-sensitive clicks in a rotary mouse for gaming purposes

I originally built a mouse with a rotary dial to alleviate my finger strain from over scrolling the old way. I swapped the scroll wheel for a rotary dial and while it did reduced by pain, it ended up working surprisingly well as a mini steering wheel.

But someone commented on my post in ETS2 sub about using mouse buttons for throttle and brake.

It makes sense cos most sims use on/off keyboard keys for those which make them hard to control.

So, the goal is to detect how hard the button is pressed, similar to analog triggers on controllers, but within the size constraints of a mouse.

But I understand game controllers usually use potentiometer for analog triggers but that may be too bulky for a mouse.

But how about Hall effect sensors or force-sensitive resistors - are they tiny and practical enough for this use case?

Has anyone here worked on compact force/pressure sensing in input devices?

Happy to share more details on what I’ve tried so far if useful.

Any other mice that have analog triggers other than Super Strike?

I wonder if there are any other mice that come with analog or pressure sensitive buttons? Perhaps an alternative to Super Strike?

Experimenting with rotary input for timeline navigation

I designed a mouse with rotary dial to alleviate my finger strain from long scrolling sessions. And when I let a few video editors try it, some of them mentioned it helps in scrubbing timelines and feels like to a jog wheel, which was interesting.

But I don't have a Mac. I'm seriously considering getting one - see my reddit post here. So I went to try it myself on other video editing software and the timeline navigation feels faster and intuitive.

I'm assuming in FCP, you can scrub timeline, zoom in/out timeline and other functions that you could do with a typical scroll wheel.

The video shows a prototype in action. It still supports standard scrolling, so it doesn’t completely change how it’s used.

Curious if anyone here who are using jog wheels, control surfaces, think about this. Btw, it's not trying to compete with Magic Mouse.

Possible to create a realtime noise canceling app?

I'm not talking about those that filters out background noises from videos or audio files or even those used during calls or Zoom.

I mean an app that listens to the ambient noise and emits a 180 deg out of phase waveform (anti noise waveform) to cancel out the noises. Something like how noise cancelling headphone works.

My concern is in the inherent delay from receiving to transmitting the "noise" back.

Best use case I can think of now is to cancel spouse's snoring noise.

Had this idea today: OCR app but AI enhanced

I take photos of docs, notices, signs and name cards but I can't easily search them on my phone. What if there's an app that uses AI to accurately read all text and images, and categorize them so that I can easily search back. Something like Google Photos but AI enhanced.

How long did it take you to fix bad posture habits?

I know I have some bad posture but what bugs me is how difficult it is to remind myself to fix it while standing or sitting. How do you do it?
