[I ate] eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, beans, cretons, potatoes, crepe, French toast, toast, fruit, maple syrup and coffee.

This is a traditional Quebecois breakfast plate. My favourite part is cretons on toast.

[I ate] “Focaccia Athena”

It’s from my local bakery, Les Vraies Richesses. It was delicious! They have the best breads. We buy our bread there weekly and sometimes we get lunch too.

This is a round focaccia loaf baked with confit onions, peppers, feta and Italian herbs. I also had an iced latte.

First time making cheesecake (Biscoff cookie crust with Biscoff cookie butter swirl)

Obviously, it’s not perfect. It’s got some HUGE cracks in it lol but it’s so damn good. Cheesecake is my favourite dessert and I can’t believe I’ve never made it before so I figured I’d give it a whirl.

I assumed my first attempt would crack, especially with my shitty oven and also because of the Biscoff cookie butter swirl but I don’t care at all. It’s the best thing I’ve ever baked.

I made butter chicken. What do you think?

Served with rice and garlic naan.

ETA: the chicken is purposefully charred. It gives a delicious smokey flavour. Char is like an ingredient.

An appropriate amount of onions on my burger.

There are also grilled onions on there.

WIBTAH If I left a note for the upstairs neighbours to be quieter when they have sex?

I live in an apartment building and new tenants moved in above us about a month ago. I never had any issues with sound in the past but these new people are LOUD.

They constantly drop heavy things, move furniture around, and they seem to move around the apartment by rolling chairs or stomping (maybe they have heavy shoes on??). But the worst is when they have sex.

Their bed is extremely squeaky and unstable, she screams and he is also loud when he finishes.

Now, I don’t want them to feel embarrassed about their sex life. I think it’s great that they have a healthy relationship and are having fun. But sometimes they’re so loud and it’s late at night so it wakes us up.

I truly believe that in apartment building you have to both be mindful of your noise level for the sake of others but also understand that others are living their own lives so you can’t be unreasonable in your expectations for noise.

I want to leave them a polite note just letting them know that they are very loud in bed and neighbours can hear very clearly everything that’s happening but I also don’t want to ruin their fun. So I’m stuck as to whether or not I should do this.

WIBTAH if I left a note letting them know they’re being too loud?

Curiosity got the better of me and I regret it.

It’s not really good. Doesn’t taste like cheese. Doesn’t taste like anything, really. I even added processed cheese to give it more flavour. Also, I have a very low spice tolerance (I only use one or two drops of the buldak spicy paste when I make it) and there is almost imperceptible spice to this. Like my mouth is barely burning.

TLDR: it’s bland af. Tastes like nothing. Don’t buy it.

Rate last night’s dinner: Boeuf au Carottes Cottage Pie

It’s just a cottage pie but instead of the ground beef mixture, it’s bœuf au carottes.

It was so good! My bf and I were out doing some errands so we went to a new place and got this plate. It was delicious! We will definitely be going back. :)

Trying these for the first time.

7/10. Good flavour but I wish there was a bit more dusting on them.

Ramen salad.

I’m really looking forward to the comments on this one 😂 it’s crunchy and tangy!

Salad ingredients:
-2 bricks of ramen and 1/2 cup sliced almonds toasted in the oven at 350°F for 15 mins.
-1 bag coleslaw mix
-2 green onion stalks, sliced
-some rotisserie chicken meat, chopped

For the vinaigrette:
-1/4 cup rice vinegar
-1/4 cup neutral oil (I used canola)
-2tbsp sesame oil
-1tbsp sugar

I used pickle brine to make cheese

I also added dill to it and it’s so good tangy, salty and tastes like dill. It’s a really great ricotta!
