why people hate on korrasami ( response to the but no one has a issue with bopal or sokka x suki stuff

korra is the main character any relationship she is in needs a certain amount of buildup so korra would have higher standards then say bolin with a side character or sokka

on the blush stuff as ikiinn put it : The thing with the blush scene is that while, yes, it’s easy to see as Korra having a crush on Asami if it’s taken out of the context of the show, I feel like that sort of ignores the way that it contradicts Korra’s previous characterization with regards to crushing on people.

I mean, we all saw how Korra acted when she was crushing on Mako, right? One of the things I liked most about her portrayal there was that she wasn’t insecure and blushy about liking Mako. She blushed a couple of times in situations where she was actually embarrassed by her actions towards him, but she never blushed just because she liked him or he complimented her.

And, in contrast, she did blush when Bolin complimented her, but she was never interested in him romantically.

If Korra were Katara or Aang or Opal, I’d definitely see the blush as romantic. But Korra is Korra, and that means that this sort of blushiness isn’t actually in-character for her. It’s a lot more consistent with her previous characterization for her to be blushing because she’s feeling insecure about herself than because she’s feeling insecure because of romantic feelings.

and to be blunt korra and asami didnt get anywhere enough for a romance what they got belonged to the realms of friendship

( if anything it is makorra that got enough for a korra single but hints to makorra getting backtogether given the ship tease in b4 and b3 ( in b3 and b4 they barely interacted or got focus

some people try to make an arguement about subtlety or censorship but korra isnt subtle person. the way she reacted to asamis compliment is how korra reacted to bolins compliment in both times they felt bad about themselves

>“Censorship explains why we couldn’t get a kiss and an “I love you” in the finale or blatant romantic scenes, not the utter lack of Korra-Asami interaction as a whole. They had six (to six and a half) minutes of interaction in the last season, spread out over six interactions/conversations. They’ve had nearly no on-screen interaction since “Long Live the Queen,” actually. They had the 5 second “I can come to the South Pole” convo in “Korra Alone” (which Korra refused), the single letter, their interactions in “Reunions,” and then the tea scene in “Remembrances.” After that, they don’t speak again until the last two minutes of the finale. The episode after “Remembrances” is the Korra-Mako field trip to the Spirit Wilds and Zaheer’s prison and the culmination of Korra’s recovery arc. Where was Asami? She had two lines in the whole episode, and they were both to Varrick.”

to be honest korra showed more emotional intimacy to kuvira and opal then she did to asami

while asami failed to support korra in remembrances mako succeeded to support korra in the korra and mako fieldtrip

( and his speech in remembrances sends the message that he would have halped korra in the remembrances episode)

( and it bothers people when they try to equate korrasami to kataang going but here is the image of korra and asami standing right next to each other nad both their names start with the same letters

in terms of narrative structure, relationship build-up, and actual interactions,

makorra is the kataang of the relationship

I have seen plenty of people make the but if asami was a guy excuse which ignores the obvious counterpoint that if asami was a guy that means by b3 he has only shown attraction to men

( I feel the only reason korrasami took off was the irrational hate for mako so they ship it to spite and punish mako for daring to be a flawed man who was emotionally immature in conflict resolution and try to vilify mako to be something he isnt

seriously korra is just as responsible for the mess by the logic korra and mako should both end the show single

korrasami seemed nonexistent ( I mean my take mako took every role meant for the love interest heck when jinora said they couldnt find her it was mako's face that was focused on

and it didnt help how korrasami shippers accuse people of homophobia for not shipping it or claiming that they would see evidence if asami was a guy (when not really ( nothing would really change korra has shown no interest in asami ( not to mention I have to note that two girls would interact differently from a guy and a girl ( gender of course is important)

I could say if asami were a guy he would be hated and insulted

another part of the korrrsami hatred is bryke using the status of being a same sex ship as shield ( or how they only threw it in in last minutes for publicity of making a same sex ship canon only caring about the genders involved )

a big part of the hate comes from the accusations of homophobia or people claiming you would ship it if asami was a guy ( why target asami not korra) ignoring asamis character and how it would look if genderbent

lets be real if we keep korra as a guy people would say asami is a shallow love interest ( and if anything

or the heteronormativity claim saying you would ship it if one of them was a guy you just didnt see it because of het lenses comes off as an insulting and desperate acccusation to deflect from korrasami having nonexistent buildup

people can flip it on them and say they only ship it because its 2 girls and the irrrational hatred for mako daring to be a human being with flaws so they feel the need to spite and punish him and seeing evidence where there is none

the attempts to claim not seeing evidence for korrasami is due to some bias or moral failing or that not shipping it is a moral failing just adds to the anger

not to mention trying to undermine mako and korras relationship ( from claiming they broke up due to incompatibility and acting like arguing at all is unhealthy to undermining b1 and b2 korra and claiming she defined herself around a boy I remember seeing people who would reduce the complex character korra was in books 1 & 2 to “bratty teenage girl likes boys tew much until she dates a girl and magically all possible issues are resolved because all same sex couples work like tumblr fairytales”

or the fanfics I have seen which do that or claim mako didnt love korra as a person when mako always loved her as a person his love for her always came down from understanding

I have to be real it feels like korrasami only happened due to the haters poisoning brykes minds and that effecting their writing like the whole korra needed to suffer to learn compassion etc

lets be real here korra has shown no romantic feelings for each other nor strong platonic feelings for asami. korra is not passive or subtle we see how she acted with mako.

korra blushing at asamis compliment If it was someone besides korra I might have thought maybe ( but korra isnt the type to behave that way
Its why I agree with ikkins posts on why korrasami couldnt last

"It’s not in-line with the way we saw Korra act as part of a couple, though. Even at its fluffiest, Korra’s interactions with Mako were always active rather than passive; she’s never come off as the sort of person who’d get much out of sitting around, even if it was with someone she loved. Just like in the finale, Asami’s desires and preferences are given primacy and Korra’s are handwaved away for the sake of shipping fluff. =/

"
korra was so ooc the only explanation for it is korra still having issues

( which is why if we keep the finale

there are some ways to explain Korra’s actions that aren’t horribly out of character, at least – say, Korra feels guilty about what happened to Hiroshi and wants to try to help Asami cope

"The fact that Korra and Asami didn’t make out was never my issue. My issue is that Asami was never treated like a main character after Book 1 and that their platonic interactions in Book 4 were tepid and shallow . My issue is that people are demanding I be invested in a romantic ship that the creators seemed barely interested in developing as a friendship. And yeah, this shit is subjective, and if you picked up on romantic subtext, then good for you, but a whole lot of folks over here did not, and we think it is cheap and unfair to be told by two straight men (and frankly a lot of straight people in the fandom) that this is due to some moral failing on our part.

Furthermore, can we not remind people enough times that Bryke didn’t even check with the network until most of Book 4 was already in the can? If this was so fucking important then why didn’t they, I dunno, run it by an exec at the scripting stage? Why does this entire thing feel like such a fucking afterthought? Why are you demanding that people bow down and worship two straight men for putting in literally the least amount of effort possible on this whole thing?

"

I would suggest a makorra story where mako talks to korra due to worry and mimics what korra did

in b1 and basically confess ( I feel like he should do this knowing of asamis feelings for korra for in the past he was so afraid of disappointing people he disappointed everyone and avoided conflict due to seeing starting conflict equals to burning bridges that he would be willing to be vulnerable like this ( well what he did in b1 was an example of that to a lesser extent where he gave up control)

and chose to try be happy even if it meant someone he cared about ( asami ) got hurt ( I find the idea of charater growth for him means being happy for korrasami to be silly.

If you could make a fic where jilk julius chris Greg or Brad got isekaied and reincarnated with memories

And in bodys from birth of various fictional characters and would end up becoming just like those fictional characters (note they have to be improved compared to the original selves )
Which fictional characters would they be

Also imagine leon having a dimension viewer seeing what became of them after they got swept in a mystic event

On Makorra fics post lok ending

saw some which basically so thr whole havekorrassmi break up due to their different needs (I remember ikkinthekitsune thr best lok metatumblr) pointing out the issued on why she feels it won't last

like korra always feeling like she needs to restrain herself and mako in b2 shows why that's not. sgood idea

(I would like thr idea of a neat fanfic which emphasizes mako overcoming his issue with fear of disappointing people an choosing to put himself first even If it means hurting asami and straight up doing what korra did in b1 and asking korra out while she is with asami and flat out gives her a speech saying the line that she needed to suffer to learn compassion is garbage and she has always been a good person and noting how out of character she acts with asami and the whole vacation thing

((i can't help but imagine a lok remake au which of course changed b4 to imply mako got slot stronger in time skip due to spending all his time training with masters

but I kind of hope someone makes a fix where thr last 5 minutes was a dream of asami and she trys to hit on korra but korra shows no interest (no offense to asami but I haven't seen asami show anything she would be attracted to personality wise korra x kuvira would be more believable

On asami writing issues and a irony I had seen in thr fandom

I have to be blunt asami was a bland character in b1 she got to establish herself as a character but post b1 she had no internal development she wss sidelined and just used for love triangle stuff in b2 ( all 3 of them hold responsibility when I see mako haters claim karma o say by that logic all 3 should remain single )

(I find it funny how someone claimed mako wasn't used for anything post b2 when he was and he showed great development (him not being expressive doesn't change that ) he overcame his flaw of fear of disappointing people and is able to start an argument with korra and resolve it (by b4 they overcame the mutual flaws that
heck bryke even in thr end after dropping love triangle and love stuff decided at the end she could be used for publicity /favored political message

If you could bring in a oc wolverine kid how do we contrast him from Wolverine and co to make an interesting dynamic

Like him being the good version of Grayson creed

Or him being a genius scientist

Or 3 an artificial creation made by combining Wolverine and storms dna so he can go by the name raiju (a wolf of lightning )

question on lok comics ( the one with kuvira on it

I hear that

  1. korra had a moment where she went you messed it up you have to fix it and asami reinedher down

it bothers me

Korra showed understanding and empathy towards Kuvira. Asami saw her father killed after finally reconciling with him. How does it make any sense for Asami to rein Korra in with regards to Kuvira

Even beyond that, Korra doesn’t need that sort of calming influence! Especially not after Book 4! I mean, I guess it’s a good thing that they let Korra have her old fire back ( I always felt a true recovery arc should bring back her old fire) , but it sounds like they retconned it back in so Asami could control it for her?

A lok remake ideas I would have if I could make a lok remake ( and I will be imagining myself like i was doing a commentary in some parts and explain my thought processes or what I would have said during commentary in some areas)a

I to be clear you already know this but the show ends with korra single but hints to makorra getting back together eventually

https://www.reddit.com/r/legendofkorra/s/1J8YRz3bTZ

I would go the asami is an equalist spy route both because it puts an end to the love triangle and I feel like continuing it like it was before would cause people to skip lok remake

Even though part of me would be afraid of it coming off like die for our ship trope (which I hate ) or caving to the haters who claim mako needed to be specifically punished for the love triangle dnd claim him ending the show single was karma (when by that logic so should korra and asami they all have responsibility for love triangle )
I would still choose asami the equalist spy
And maybe make omake or a free fic showing what would change if i kept asami the way i did

To be honest asami

Of og lok was pretty. Much a side character. Asami was pretty much

Adding get development or anything since b1 she was love interest and lady in red for mako in b2 and got some in hiroshi in b4 but not real development
They even had the idea of just putting her in the army with iroh

Also I feel the last 5 minutes were ooc for korra period

And I feel bryke listened to the people who hated korra and mako and that led to them missing what the actual narrative pointed for them

Like them killing korras fire (they listened to people who hated korra at the cost of people who always loved korra
Get rid of the korra needed to suffer to learn compassion line
And affirming that Korra has always been a decent person and a good Avatar despite her mistakes. That she was already had compassion
Heck she even showed it to the ice twins

Comforting them over unalaqs death

In remembrances when we go back to the past(on makos side we go and acknowledge the what if asami wasn’t an equalist spy but her dad was still with equalist and how would he handle the love triangle stuff and someone is upset about korra kicking makos desk
)

I would also for equalist asami may go the route of it finishing off love triangle with a decisive end and a foil to korra in that the tomboyish girl vs feminine girl

(Actually if we did go the asami same as the og lok in a omake or a gag extra I would have it so asami is actually in her late twenty’s or early 30 to explain the whole hiroshi not getting her to hate benders i mean why wouldn’t he do that to a young kid unless she wasn’t a child when her mom died

And we can have a snippet of asami freaking out

On non love triangle things

Mako eventually will confront bolin and talk to him about bolins behavior in b2 and how he seemed to think he was guilty (which bugged him and he didn’t say anything for a while (I once saw a post bringing up how they wish this was brought up and wish asami a whole not visiting mako was brought up (in my snippet of what if asami stayed the same I would also have mako asks this to asami )

And have Lin be mad about what korra did knocking over makos desk etc

Also maybe touch up makos backstory and talent and say post b3 he asked white lotus for a firebending master or help him get stronger for korra (he grew up in the streets and he was used to probending a sport so I feel like by b4 mako should be even with korra in firebending (or better )

Actually make it so mako was alsready able to do with lightning bending to do what azula did in the. Comics but by b4 he develops lightning breath and evolved his electric sense (which he used to only be able to do it by touch and. A certain motions ) so he can know use it psychically from far away and to read someone’s moves but at first its difficult for him
Being able to use it in combat (he invented electric sense (developing it due to a villain he faced and fully figuring out how to constantly have it on in the back of his head after the reunion ep ( bolin learnt a sub element from facing a villain korra learnt a technique due to one and mako develops a technique/sub element in response to a villain

(

Maybe make him develop any airbending countermeasures with fire/heat bending

Inspired by how some people made Batman jokes on mako and Batman’s prep time

Maybe include a new flashback to his childhood with bolin and some of dirty stuff he needed to do to survive and protect his brother especially what Zolt made him to do ( basically adapt republic city hustle but mako needed to do something in exchange for their survival ) and how he learned lightning bending on his own
Maybe include new villains or oc

on b4

>

>

  • Korra not writing to Mako or Bolin gets addressed in a much more satisfying way – she says that she’d tried writing a bunch of times, but she didn’t want to be a burden.  Mako responds by saying he’d never think she was a burden.
  • Bolin’s part of Reunion, on the other hand, is heavily reworked.  Instead of running into escaped foreigners, he and Varrick run into a rebel group composed largely of people who had escaped after being thrown in prison by Kuvira for protesting against her.  The rebels are actually looking to take down the border station rather than pass through it unnoticed, but they’re okay with letting Bolin and Varrick flee the country after that as long as they help take down the mechsuits first.
  • Since Remembrances is basically pointless, it’s skipped entirely.  If there’s still a budget shortfall, it’s dealt with by making a twelve episode season with a low-budget chibified omake episode after the finale.  Or an omake episode based around the Bolin part of Remembrances, because there’s something hilarious about the super-lazy photoshopping in that section.
  • The resolution of Korra’s recovery arc (as seen in Beyond the Wilds) is expanded to two episodes, with each of the two episodes having an important secondary plot from elsewhere in the current season – Operation Beifong is shortened to fit as a secondary plot in the first, while Asami visits Hiroshi to discuss technology (and ends up reconciling with him as a result) in the second.  (This leaves four episodes remaining in the season after these two.)
  • Instead of the vines reacting to Kuvira’s cutting of the banyan tree by attacking random people, the spiritual problem that Korra’s confronted with is that all of the spirits in Republic City are getting weaker.  Figuring out what’s going on requires some detective work by Korra and Mako, but once Kuvira fires off her spirit cannon in her first full-scale test, Korra’s able to feel the life being sucked out of the spirits and understand the nature of the problem.  She realizes that she has to visit the Spirit World to find a solution, but attempting to do so causes her to flash back to Zaheer trying to kill her.  Just like in the show, she decides that she has to visit Zaheer to work through her trauma… but unlike in the show, that has to wait for the next episode.
  • Korra’s visit to Zaheer goes very similarly to the way it does in the show, albeit slightly expanded.  He teaches Korra to accept her flashbacks and push through them before leaving, but she has to confront several more of her traumatic memories after that (and not just the Book 3 ones!) while trying to reestablish her full connection with Raava.  Once Raava and Korra are fully reunited, Korra’s able to find the banyan tree’s Spirit World roots and heal them with energybending, which restores the Republic City spirits to full health.  She herself, of course, feels a lot more like her old self, too.
  • The spirits leave because they’re afraid of the consequences of being around Kuvira’s spirit cannon, not because they don’t want to protect the city they live in.
  • Asami’s visit to Hiroshi happens after Bolin returns from Zaofu and explains what sort of weapon they’re up against – as angry as she still is, Asami knows that Hiroshi is better at drawing up plans for killer robots than anyone else and is willing to work with him if that’s what it takes to save the city.  She walks out on him once, but comes back because she knows that there are more important things at play than her own feelings.  And by the end, they do actually reconcile, because Hiroshi admits that he was wrong and proves that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make up for the harm he did.
  • The expanded Team Avatar (minus Asami, who’s still working on robot designs) actually does manage to pull off their preemptive strike against Kuvira’s spirit cannon, but gets blindsided by the giant mech after infiltrating her camp.  They kidnap Baatar Jr. in a last-ditch attempt to force Kuvira to surrender, but she attacks the building they’re in anyway and decides to attack Republic City as retaliation (instead of wanting to take over all along).
  • Team Avatar tunnels their way out of the rubble and steals an airship, taking Baatar Jr. with them.  He can’t believe the betrayal and tells Team Avatar exactly what they’re up against.  Once they get back to Republic City (beating Kuvira there by a fair amount due to the relative speed of robots and airships), the airbenders start the evacuation while Asami and Varrick upgrade the robots to take the new information into account.  Unfortunately, the evacuation is nowhere near complete by the time Kuvira arrives and Team Avatar is forced to engage her outside of the city to keep her from causing massive casualties.  They’re able to take the fight to Yue Bay, allowing Korra to freeze the mech for long enough for Asami and Hiroshi to cut their way inside.  (Hiroshi still sacrifices himself because it’d be weird not to have casualties, but his and Asami’s arc is more focused before that so I think it could work better.)
  • Korra’s fight with Kuvira inside the cockpit of the mech extends out longer, because it was both awesome and way too short.  The episode ends with Korra blocking the spirit cannon and creating the new portal.
  • The actual finale involves Korra chasing Kuvira into the Spirit World and trying to save her from herself.  This involves Kuvira getting turned into a little girl and getting stuck in an unpleasant flashback to her abandonment at one point.  It also involves Korra showing Kuvira the damage her spirit cannon was doing to the Spirit World before healing the banyan tree one final time.  And, since it’s a finale, it should also involve Korra protecting Kuvira from spirits who want to destroy her for what she did to them (just before the healing-the-banyan-tree thing).
  • Instead of a wedding, the denouement takes place at a press conference where Korra speaks about the damage to the city and how she’s sure the people of the city will be able to pull through and recover the way she did.  Everyone who fought for Team Avatar is acknowledged as heroes, including Hiroshi (posthumously, of course).  The prince asks Mako to help him tell Raiko that he doesn’t actually want to be king, and Mako agrees; Korra insists that there be a democratic method to determining the next ruler of the Earth Kingdom since foreigners choosing heirs to support was clearly a terrible idea.  And, in the end, Korra visits Kuvira in prison and offers her own experience as a way to help her grow.

ignore the asami parts for my idea of lok remake and hiroshi

also change b3 so kuvira joins with team avatar during that time

ikkinthekitsune.tumblr.com/post/111088014089/wouldnt-it-be-great-if-it-was-actually-kuvira#notes

Anonymous asked: Wouldn't it be great, if it was actually Kuvira, who was one of the members of team Avatar instead of Asami? Or if she was introduced somewhere in B2 as Mako's partner in the force? I know it would've change the story a lot, but imagine the level of emotional investment in Korra/Kuvira B4 conflict, if Kuvira was actually the reversed Zuko of new TA. She starts as lawful police officer, travels with the Krew to Zaofu and gets literally possessed by Su's ideas of progress in B3.

Kuvira as a member of Team Avatar would have been amazing.  It’d have definitely added a ton of weight to Book 4.

I think her backstory in Zaofu is pretty important to her character, though, so I can’t see her joining the team any sooner than Book 3.  So here’s what I’d do, changing as little of the first half of the show as possible:

Turn Asami into an airbender.  This would create a perfectly reasonable transition point for Asami and the Fire Ferret trio to go separate ways – she’d leave with Tenzin to go to the Northern Air Temple in In Harm’s Way.  That’d leave an empty spot in Team Avatar as of The Metal Clan.
Introduce Korra and Kuvira early in The Metal Clan.  Maybe she’d come over to Korra after Su introduced herself but before Su called Korra on her lie – she’d tell Korra how much the change Korra made in the world inspired her, and maybe express a bit of frustration that Su didn’t mention that she was her foster child.
Have Kuvira assist Su in teaching Korra to metalbend – say, Su uses Kuvira to demonstrate techniques on, or something, then has her go back to her guard duties.
Involve Kuvira directly in Team Avatar’s search for the traitor.  It’d be a good way to show how aggressive she can be towards people who betray her trust, as well as give her more of an opportunity to become closer to the team.
Have Su send Kuvira along with Team Avatar to find Aiwei.  This is the real changeover – from here on, she takes much of Asami’s role.
Korra and Kuvira are the ones who stay behind when Mako and Bolin go into town, giving them more time to talk.
Kuvira’s the one Mako sends off with Korra on Naga.  This requires some rethinking in regards to their capture – earthen barriers aren’t going to mean anything to her.  I’m thinking they get taken by surprise and the Earth Queen’s forces threaten Naga (offscreen; Kuvira tells Korra about it when she wakes up).
The adventure in the desert goes differently (the escape would be more about Kuvira being an unexpected metalbender in a metal airship than about the airship being a hunk of junk), but it offers a good opportunity for Kuvira to be a bit overly willing to do nasty things to the airship crew and Korra to hold her back.  If Korra still ends up frying the sandshark, Kuvira kind of calls her out on it.  ;)
The fight on Laghima’s Peak goes a bit differently – Kuvira doesn’t get thrown off the side by a combustion blast incidentally, but instead jumps over the side purposefully in order to save Tonraq.
Kuvira wants to go to Republic City to make sure Korra’s going to be alright, but Su tells her she can’t.
Cue a very similar Book 4, except that Korra is a lot more invested in Kuvira’s fate, Bolin has a better reason to side with her, and we’ve already seen some of the characteristics that define Kuvira, like her aggression, inability to deal with betrayal, and her issues with Su.

( and the whole putting people from other nations into camps etc is not a thing ( it feels weird given how kuvira cited zaofu as an inspiration for her
( of course change it asami part wouldnt be there ( but I would say in commentary that if I went down the route of keeping asami the same I would just say to them that I would just have her go back due to business

and given the denied in the movie

maybe include a former equalist as a new airbender and they stay with kuvira ( maybe mako faces them

maybe its asami is that equalist ( and mako ends the show taking her bending away before going to finish off the robot

>

its why I feelt that is bryke went through with the equalist asami route it would have spared alot of people

( also in b2 keep makorra's issues nad flaws there is nothing wrong with them not being ready for a relationship with anyone

I would ( remember I am pretending I am the writer and showrunner of a lok remake )

know the backlash I get and attacks and accusations and would bluntly imagine myself going you need to deal with it

I would also say post b4 if I kept asami the same as she was last time I would go with fem wu https://ikkinthekitsune.tumblr.com/post/113200137302/fem-wu-would-be-a-more-incredible-character#notes

Anonymous asked: Fem wu would be a more incredible character, filtring with asami for episode 1, and then having her to end with asami afther her character arc, like have wu be inspired by asami to better herself and asami to let new people in her live. (As it is she only seems to have korra)

Now that’s an option I hadn’t thought of.  o_o

For some reason, I’m kind of imagining fem!Wu as an entirely different character – instead of being a flamboyant (wo)manchild, she’d be a takeoff on Disney Princess culture, where being a princess is all about the dress and finding true love, with very little actual ruling-of-the country involved.  She’d still be entirely inappropriate as a contender for the throne, but in a way that would be less obnoxiously unappealing.

That would also give Mako the perfect opportunity to drag Asami in (“Asami, please, she’s been begging me to let her try on dresses in Little Ba Sing Se but I can’t go into the changing room with her!”), and would also make Asami a very interesting foil for her (as an heiress who had to step up and take control of her father’s company at a young age).

Her character arc would basically revolve around recognizing that, as much as she liked being part of high society, becoming a figurehead queen wasn’t what she really wanted.  Asami could offer her another option at the wedding – as a spokeswoman for Future Industries or an actress in a joint venture film production with Varrick or something – and they could end up hitting it off and getting together as a result.

plus mako getting a female friend who he didnt date sounds nice )

also on the idea of keeping asami the same as she was in canon ( I would say none of those b3 and b4 moments would be asami showing romantic interest ) korra would send a letter to vent to a someone ( and making a letter makes distance) and if she sent it to mako he would be worried and trying to fix it

( if someone asked me that If I were told to make a story of makorra getting backtogether while keeping b4 and so on for korrasami I would say that they broke up due to the different conflict styles and how korra cant be herself with asami

( also remember how in b4 how korra's scene in the locker has parallels to makos locker scene

I would give mako in b4 a scenee that parallels korra's defeat of a firebending master

maybe even having say mako is the one who decides to go to korra and confess in a way to parallel korra doing that for him

( anyway to be clear even in b4 mako and korra are still capable of arguing the reunion episode involves them arguing then they show conflict resolution and apologizing

the problem isnt that they argued the problem is they didnt know how to handle it

mako is the katara equivalent of legend of korra with a bit of zuko in him

its so funny when people are in denial about how mako is the katara of lok ( they have a good number of similarities in personality ( temper ) role on the krew and even ( the obvious bryke said korra is the opposite of aang in every way and aangs true love is a waterbender who lost her parents and parentified korra's is a firebender ( mako ) and bryke meant for there to be a love triangle when toph was a male who got katara attracted to ( who is quite masculine and rich man to how asami is quite feminine and rich ( bryke admitted to having intended for there to be a love triangle

fantastic-nonsense . tumblr . com/post/113924073665/ugh-whats-happened-in-the-fandom-now

“There is a beautiful piece of fanart out that compares LOK characters to ATLA characters in the same role. One of the comparisons is Mako and Katara. People are lashing out and crying, hating on Mako in general and saying “how dare they be compared” because to these people feel Mako is a sack of shit and that’s just not true.  Both characters are family oriented, good people with tempers, flawed, selfless, love the avatar, and help save the world. They are key characters to the plot.”

“People get so fucking angry when you draw attention to the obvious similarities between Mako and Katara it’s so fucking funny“

parentificiation, seeing their parents murdered in front of them having a sibling who often acts as a comic relief who gets way more love then they do , being hated for havingtrauma in a way that cant be easily romanticized

"is this SERIOUSLY something I have to talk about? really? really. really. I was doing just fine going not caring about what y’all say, but seriously, if I see a parallel between Mako and Katara and I want to show it with art, be respectful and don’t criticize me for my choice (this is toward the first comment). second, please look up the definition of “literally” because who the fuck is Mako again? oh, right, basically the parent to his only brother, literally a person who sacrificed his life for the world, a cop who did his job to the city because he loved it, and overall someone who doesn’t deserve the kind of shit y’all pack onto him. you can’t fucking go around and claim that just because he didn’t really know how to quite manage his romantic life that he was an overall shitty human being. that is in no way, shape, or FORM a respectful thing to do. why did I think he’s deserving to put next to katara? because they both dedicate their LIVES to protect their people and the avatar. they take the place as the guardian for their siblings and they GROW as people, carrying heirlooms of their dead parents, and become progressively more mature about how they view the world (Katara in her strength and Mako in his role as a cop and not as a crook). not everything is about romance. i am literally sick and tired of seeing this in tags and anons messaging me about how fucking STUPID i am about how i decided to put mako on katara’s level

"I can get why people see a bit of zuko in him

ikkinthekitsune . tumblr . com/post/72568532337/makos-biggest-character-flaw-is-his-inability-to#notes

Anonymous asked: Mako's biggest character flaw is his inability to make a sound decision and commit to it. At first, this is frustrating, but what else is to be expected from an Expy of Zuko, who spent nearly that whole series jumping sides?

I suppose. XD I wouldn’t exactly call Mako a Zuko Expy, though… at least not more than I’d call him a Katara Expy. He’s “the firebender” like Zuko and “the one forced to grow up too fast” like Katara, but he’s definitely his own person rather than a copy of either of them.

Looking at Mako and Zuko’s respective indecisiveness, for instance, it isn’t coming from the same place at all.

Zuko’s indecisiveness was always a sort of nature-vs.-nurture sort of thing. Zuko’s innate temperament was good and he had a functional conscience that told him not to do bad things… but he was brought up in an environment in which it was impossible to gain the respect from his father that he so desperately desired without doing bad things. His inability to commit comes from his own clashing desires and was resolved when he realized that he might never get validation from Ozai but that was okay.

Mako’s indecisiveness, on the other hand, is much more other-centric. Most of the things Mako struggles with involves a situation in which someone is bound to get hurt no matter what, and he’s forced to decide which response is the lesser of two evils. He has one primary motive – to avoid causing pain – but it’s in conflict with itself even when there isn’t a second motive for it to conflict with.

That difference, I suspect, explains the differing audience reaction, too. Zuko’s conflict is a rather masculine, Hero’s Journey “confrontation with the father” sort of thing, while Mako’s is decidedly not.

( and makorra overcame their mutual flaws that led to the b2 breakup (it wasnt incompatiiblity neither of them were ready for a relationship with anyone and they were then ready

It would have been neat if makos childhood trauma and fear/guilt weakened his bending and his time with korra and the b3 finale events led to him

Overcoming his trauma and strengthening his bending again

After his talks with zuko

I mean I hear kya in thr comics lost touch with her bending due to being reminded of what the fire nation did

And gyatso was weakened /lost touch with his bending due to losing a loved one

Make it do due to the trauma of losing his parents and having to work out in the streets and protect his brother and work for a crime boss and made to kill for them (yeah I am adding to that

And even after the republic city hustle lightning bolt uses what happened with bolin to tighten the leash on mako till mako ends up saving his zolts kids life

But he still maintains thr ability to use his fire due to his desire to protect his brother

So basically mako would learn from zuko who helps him with spiritual guidance and makes love for Korea the person helps him get thevresolce to face himself and look spiritually going korra is dealing with being poisoned so i can deal with this

It would be neat if post b3 mako had went on a training arc to be stronger for korra

He could feel that if he wss stronger and took down Ming hua then tenzin would have defeated or escaped the red lotus who attacked him and thus korra wouldn't be poisoned (and regret not being able to do anything for her then
Maybe in b3 zuko even goes out of his way to guide him because it's what his uncle would do

And the spiritual journey and unlocking thr fire (blocked by shame/guilt and earth (blocked by fear )

He ends up accessing the purifying fire along with growing as. A martial artist

(I liked the idea of mako using purifying heat to help counter poisons dark energies and also a bending grip (a counter to bloodbending the dark aspect of bloodbending countered by light aspect of fire bending ) possibly driven by how he regrets not being able to help korra (and the idea is that post b3 he goes through a training arc for if he was stronger he could have taken out Ming and tenzin and co may have been able to escape from zaheer
So he can transfer the purifying heat into someone else

Plus amon and mako are foils /counterparts
So him inventing a way to counter bloodbending seems fittting plus its said someone managed to accidentally raise the heat of a room so if combined with purifying heat it would help counter some actual bending techniques
Like if someone grabs him with a water tentacle he heat breaks the bending grip on their element

Of course when he first gets it he just sees it as a way to heal people and help counter dark spirits and bloodbending grip

but it will take some training to extend the heat outside the body to do the whole burning the bending grip of an element (like water tentacle

https://www.tumblr.com/ikkinthekitsune/45504265282?source=share

Of course at first it'd just a healing technique but later on with training it will grow to do the above thing

I am disappointed legend of korra didnt introduce a special branch of fire bending or a new technique

I mean air got flight and spirit sfuff earth lava bending water spirit bending
I wish fire got something like a more advanced lightning bending to do more then just shoot a bolt of lightning and electromagnetism bending

(say if mako got it given how he is skilled with lightning bending and how iirc on website it listed his specialty as light ing bending

And bolin getting magma you can say bolin got the raw earth while mako got manipulates the unseen, high-tech energy fields

Plus he worked at a powerplant
And imagine it starting off with him first advancing lightning to use a lightning palm and reading bio electricity
And varrick giving him notes in his research on electricity and electromagnetism as a gift from bolin

What martial art is the best fit for electro magnetism bending
Some suggest aikido (uses Aikido’s circular hand paths to catch the incoming momentum. His electromagnetism wraps around the weapon, letting him seamlessly guide, redirect, or violently yank it away using the attacker’s own kinetic energy against them and a bajiquan like fa Jin for thr lightning dashing to propel
Like a thunder clap
Or a martial art relying on circular movement to redirect and pull and push metal items
And even push and pull himself to rail glide
Plus he is a detective and hkn being able to read thr bio electric signals and tell when someone is lying would match with how toph who became a detective can do that

It's driven by his love for korra

And he confronts his guilt over not being able to help and his guilt for his time in th gang and accepted what happens

And accepted he need to make decisive action even if someone gets hurt

https://ikkinthekitsune.tumblr.com/post/112518542320/on-book-2-makorra-korras-mentality-about

A post going into detail on korra and makes b2 issues and how neither were ready for a relationship with anyone
And bringing up makos flaws which in my idea he has to address

It would be funny if one of nyudos human playthings screwed him over

Like they managed to leak the info of what nyudo said and is planning to jachi or gdk
Or if one of humans was a magic user and replicated nyudos magic portal and teleported nyudos real body away to someone like ginbak or jachi

[discussion] rogue and sting will definitely be arriving

Sting rogue will arrive to come in and use holy magic to release laxus from the life jail dragon (and note life jail is the dragons who attacked rogue and tried to convince present rogue to join them so it fits for them to face levia

And sting will block the soul stealing
Or maybe rogue will use dragon manipulation magic to get levia to hamper him

do you think we will ever get a lol champ who is basically swains student/apprentice

isnt swain fully aware of the demon inside him breaking free and setting his allys up and placing them so to kill him In the last issue of the Katarina comics, Swain tells Katarina that Noxus needs her to be the assassin who can get to anyone... including Swain himself, "whatever [he] may become". He's fully aware of the grim future that may befall him, a future in which he's no longer in control.

To add to this, Swain's dialogue with Darius further proves that Swain is aware that the demon within him will break free and that he's relying on his allies to kill him when he loses control. When fighting Darius, Swain says "it was only a matter of time Darius, do what you must", implying that Darius was put on the Trifarix to keep Swain in check. Until the demon takes him, Swain is doing his best to keep Noxus safe and secure after seeing visions of the secrets that Raum kept of multiple world ending cataclysms in the future.

so how about champ who is trained by swain to be his successor as the new vision after his death ( maybe having a magic to mimic what raum does.)
