Well, also, if there was only one color, what was it? Probably brown since we mostly have brown hair. I bet the first blonde surprised the heck out of them.
A few 4X games seem like they should be right up my alley but I never got to the point where I really wanted to play them.
For me this would be:
Old World
Endless Legends
With old world it seemed kind of....tedious? Too tedious.
With endless it seemed like...it was desaturated? I mean, it was like there were a lot of spices everywhere but everything still tasted like cardboard.
If a human really got down to it and spent time on memorizing locations, could they remember as many as a bird can?
This might be obscure but...Sim Tower is basically SimCity but you only simulate a single skyscraper.
At first glance this looks similar to the KOEI games Nobunaga's Ambition, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Rise of the Phoenix, and such.
Or maybe having a few similarities to Gemfire.
Anyway I was wondering what you think of these games.
Hi!
I've been drawing digitally, then printing out my drawing (very lightly) onto drawing paper (so not onto regular printer paper). Then I ink the drawing by hand.
I'd LOVE to try this with bigger paper, but my printer only takes in standard 8.5x11 paper. It does have a "manual feed" which I use on drawing paper.
What should I do? Is there a printer which has a manual feed which can take in rather big pieces of paper? Such as let's say bigger than standard 8.5x11. Can you help me pick something out?
One common issue in most of the 4X games I've played is that once your empire is eXpanded, it becomes eXtra tedious!
Which 4X games do you feel handle this very well?
Of course you wouldn't have any lizards or dragons at the start, but the idea would be to pivot towards lizards, dragons, medusas as early as you could.
I'm not sure if cockatrice is cold-blooded since it has some snake parts and some bird parts.
Been grinding on anatomy
I've been playing this game and I find the variety of units I can use pretty wide and very interesting. I love this kinda gameplay.
That said I assume this many units isn't totally balanced, since balancing this variety of things is just a very difficult problem in general. MMOs take years to balance and even then come up short at times.
Well what do you think?
Back when I first played this game it was in the SNES era, so I had no internet....
At first I didn't fully understand the mechanics of this game, but I had some kind of guidebook which told me basically how to get the best ending (including all zodiac stones), and played it again and again until I finally got that ending. I think one time I missed one single stone and had to do the entire thing over.
IIRC I also got the most "evil" ending as well. So many playthroughs.
In retrospect, I feel like alignment+charisma is kind of clunky, and especially fiddly when you need low alignment characters who also have high charisma. I would almost prefer for there to be one stat vs the 2, but this game was blazing new trails back then so they were bound to not do everything perfectly.
Thoughts?
