Why are some people on reddit so toxic?

All I do is just post something and it seems like there are always trolls and jerks who just say something not so nice. I believe anonomity plays a big role. Everyone is just a critic.

I bet you're going to do something to me. Don't you dare!

Is "Anarcho-Conservatism" a theoretically coherent ideology, or a contradiction in terms?

I’ve recently become curious about the concept of Anarcho-Conservatism and whether it’s recognized as a distinct political theory.

It sounds like an oxymoron because both ideologies differ when it comes to hierarchies and coercive authority.

However, I’ve seen it framed as a "stateless society governed by voluntary traditionalism", similar o the way some paleolibertarians or theorists like Hans-Hermann Hoppe describe decentralized, culturally conservative communities.

From a political science perspective:

  1. Is there a scholarly definition for this? Does it exist as its own theory, or is it just a subset of Paleolibertarianism/Anarcho-Capitalism?
  2. The Enforcement Problem: Can a "conservative social order" actually be maintained without a state apparatus to enforce it? Or would the mechanisms used to preserve tradition (social ostracization, covenants) eventually become a de facto state?
  3. Real-world parallels: Are there historical or contemporary examples of communities that fit this description (e.g., the Amish or certain monastic orders)?

I’d love to hear some theoretical perspectives on whether these two pillars can coexist or if they are fundamentally at odds.

Is it possible to define Michael Jackson’s legacy without the controversies, or are they now a permanent part of it?

He has truely changed music, dance, and fashion forever, but his life was also filled with serious allegations and constant media scrutiny.

Can his "true legacy" be just his talent, or has the "King of Pop" story become a permanent mix of genius and controversy? How do you think history will actually remember him?

Video Games Are a More Valuable Art Form Than Many Traditional Movies

While movies are often celebrated as the pinnacle of visual storytelling, I believe video games offer a deeper, more interactive form of art. They combine narrative, music, visuals, and player agency in ways movies can't. Games can evoke powerful emotions and tell complex stories through immersion and interactivity, making them a unique artistic experience that deserves more recognition.

It seems like no matter how well things are going, something awkward or embarrassing happens at least once a month from kindergarten through high school. Is this a universal experience, or just me?

In hypothesis testing terms, smoke alarms seem to prioritize minimizing Type II errors (failing to detect smoke) over Type I errors (false alarms). What is the statistical rationale for this tradeoff, and how is it typically justified in decision theory or cost-sensitive classification?

I’m trying to start learning political science on my own, but I’m having trouble finding resources that feel structured and interactive. I’m used to learning computer science and statistics on platforms like Brilliant and Mimo, so I’m looking for something that works on a computer and isn’t just endless reading.

I’m not a fan of Coursera, so I’m hoping for alternatives that are free, desktop‑friendly, and good for beginners who want to understand political systems, theory, or international relations in a more hands‑on way.

If anyone has recommendations for platforms, websites, or approaches that helped you learn political science effectively, I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for your attention and participation.
