I have now dated East, South, and Southeast Asian girls, women from India, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, and South Korea. There is an incredible amount of diversity among them all, it is impossible to generalize hundreds of millions of women, of course. Yet, there is one common denominator among them that I tend to find again and again, and it is that these women from these countries all have a profound level of insecurity related to their ethnicity or race, and all have varying degrees of self-hate. I won't go into detail of how it came to be, some will argue it is a leftover from colonialism, others will say it is the consequences of +5h daily TikTok use that is the average among young women everywhere nowadays, ensuring constant self-comparison with the likes of Sabrina Carpenter and Sydney Sweeney.
How this insecurity manifests itself is of course very different from person to person. But after spending time and getting to know thousands of women from the aforementioned countries, it became clear to me that they had a very hierarchical view of the world and race, where those with European looks were at the top, and they themselves were below them. I never understood this. I found their natural tan skin to be very attractive and a sign of vitality, and I always thought these girls would look even more attractive if they were spending more time in the sun and getting sun kissed. But in all of Asia, from India to Japan, this is heavily frowned upon among women, where the beauty standard is being as White as possible. I thought it was ridiculous for my dates to have a sun umbrella when it was cloudy and a UV index of 5-6, but they considered it close to a social death sentence to get any colour.
I also grew tired of their constant self-loathing comments, like how all of them, completely unprompted, would tell me how they thought their own nose was so ugly deformed and that my nose was so perfect. Southeast Asian women would tell me how they wish they had a more prominent nose bridge like I have, and East Asian women would tell how they wish they had a smaller nose like me.
There is nothing more exhausting than to be with someone who hates themselves and wish they looked different, and this seems to be the case for the majority of these women. I have never experiences this dating fellow Scandinavians.
On a side note, I also became disgusted at how the wealthier women in these countries would treat their fellow countrymen with such disdain, just from being middle or working class. The social strata is more prominent over there, but in my opinion, this nastiness was also a mirror of how they saw themselves and their countrymen.

I have a Scandinavian mom and Middle Eastern dad, which gives me a Mediterranean phenotype. Many Spanish people I met flat out refused to believe I wasn't Spanish and kept speaking in Spanish to me. One even wanted me to say a sentence involving Franco (?) which was kinda weird.
I am curious, because I think our two cultures are the opposite of each other in so many ways, Scandinavians are mostly very timid, introverted, quiet. We usually don't have close family ties or strong social bonds, ie. "cold" people. Whereas, and I know it isn't true for everyone, but most in Latin America are the opposite of this.
Volkswagen har udmeldt at de vil fyre 100K arbejdere i Tyskland i løbet af de kommende år, og lukke fire enorme fabrikker. De kan simpelthen ikke konkurrere med deres kinesiske rivaler såsom BYD, XPeng, eller SAIC længere. Mercedes-Benz og BMW er også påbegyndt store fyringsrunder, hvor de er begyndt at skære ned på deres bilproduktion i Europa. Lad mig minde jer om at Kinas producenter (overordnet set) først begyndte at træde ind på elbil markedet i 2009. Men blot 17 år senere har de sat alle deres rivaler i resten af verden fuldstændigt i skakmat. Så hurtigt kan det gå.
Kina er simpelthen rykket så langt op i værdikæden på så kort tid, at vores konkurrencemæssige fordele enten ikke længere findes, eller er utrolig marginal, eller blot er en smagssag. Kina producerer ikke kun billigere produkter, de producerer endda bedre produkter.
Vestas, som altid har været i blandt verdens største vindmølleproducenter, blev i 2026 smidt ud af verdens top 5 målt på turbineinstallationer. Den nye top 5 består kun af kinesiske vindmølle virksomheder.
Lige nu holder den farmaceutiske industri hele Danmarks økonomi over vande. Hvad sker der når deres kinesiske rivaler begynder at udkonkurrere dem, ligesom BYD begyndte at gøre med VW? Vi har meget teknisk regulation der måske kan forhindre at dette sker i EU, men det vil ske i alle andre markeder i resten af verdenen til gengæld. De producerer bedre og billigere ting end os. Der er ikke noget mere frygtindgydende end at flyve ind over Kina og se en uendelig mængde fabrikker, fabrikker så langt som horisonten rækker. Hvad er planen? Hvad skal vi leve af i Europa? I USA har al deres industri for længst rykket til Kina, men de er førende indenfor al der har at gøre med teknologi, AI, mikrochips osv. Men Europa kigger lige nu ind i en fremtid hvor vi hverken har teknologi eller industri. Vi har ikke nogen Microsoft, NVDIA, Apple, Google, Anthopic, og snart har vi heller ikke den lille smule industri der ikke er blevet outsourcet endnu tilbage.
Den sidste sommer jeg brugte i Danmark var godt nok i 2023, men jeg husker ikke at der var så slemt dengang... hvad sker der?
