Hi. I’m a 28-year-old mechanical engineer who’s happiest when I’m designing something, reading about how things work, or falling down a documentary rabbit hole. Science, engineering, history, and random facts are all fair game.
I love reading books, watching movies and documentaries
I have ADHD, so I tend to hyperfocus on whatever catches my interest. I keep a small social circle by choice and prefer meaningful conversations over small talk.
I’m looking for someone who enjoys genuine chats, has their own passions, and doesn’t mind exchanging random thoughts or nerding out together. If you can teach me something new or enjoy learning alongside me, we’ll probably get along.

I don’t know why, but conversations with older people just feel easier. They’re usually more relaxed, have interesting life experiences, and I never feel like I have to force the conversation.
With people my own age, I sometimes feel disconnected or like I don’t really fit in.
I’ve met people I’d genuinely like to be friends with, but the age gap makes me wonder if it’d seem a bit weird.

I’ve rejected two girls recently because I’m childfree.
The weird part is I haven’t even told my family that I’m CF yet. They just know I keep saying no. 😅
Honestly, I think I’m going to keep rejecting proposals. Where I’m from, having kids is pretty much the default and most women genuinely want children. I completely respect that, but it also means we’re just not compatible.
Sometimes it feels like I’m searching for people who barely exist around me.
Has anyone else from a traditional family or culture been through this? How did you find other childfree people?

I’m a 28 year old guy. Life’s been okay overall, but I’ve always struggled with making friends and connecting with people.

Ima mechanical engineer, and my job involves a lot of complex work, so it takes up a huge chunk of my mental energy. By the end of the day I’m usually pretty drained which doesn’t exactly help my social life.

Lately I’ve been feeling the pressure of being 28. It feels like everyone else has close friends, relationships, or is getting married, and I’m still trying to figure out how to meet people and build those connections.

I am 28, male, and neurodivergent. I am just trying to figure out day to day life while balancing work, faith, and everything else.

When I am not working, I usually end up reading a lot or watching movies, shows, and documentaries. I would not say my life is completely isolating, but it does feel a bit lonely at times. It can be hard sometimes to feel fully understood by people around you.

Being neurodivergent makes social life a bit tricky. Even with family, friends, or people in the community, I often feel like there is a gap in understanding, and it is not always easy to build strong or natural connections. Over time it can take a bit of a toll on both social and personal life.

I was just wondering if there are other neurodivergent Muslims here and how you deal with it. How do you manage relationships, day to day life, and staying grounded with everything going on.
