The Social Background or Class of each Sailor Senshi — How Wealthy or Privileged Are the Sailor Guardians?

I know that the Outer Sailor Guardians are rich, I’m not sure about Setsuna's financial situation, but I believe that some of the Inner Guardians, as well as Mamoru Chiba, are also well-off.

And Chibiusa has the fancy life of a royal princess.

By the way, do you think the Three Lights / Sailor Starlights also have lots of money?

As you may know, not all Idols are swimming in money.

Pippi Longstocking Sketches & Artworks by Hayao Miyazaki and one illustration by Goro Miyazaki

These illustrations were published in the book 幻の「長くつ下のピッピ」 (Tankobon Softcover – October 9, 2014). Note: I really should have included the book cover in my picture collection, too!

OI/Rofan Trope: The OG Female Lead or Heroine is Evil or the Villain because she is possessed by another Reincarnator or Transmigrator.

Perhaps you've also noticed the Otome Isekai plot where the main character is reborn as a Villain (Supporting, Minor, or Background Character) and encounters the Original Heroine, who just happens to be possessed by another female reincarnated character or a malevolent entity.

And instead of communicating with each other and helping one another, they become (deadly) enemies because there isn’t enough room for two NLOG Protagonists who have multiple obsessive/possessive love interests, or because someone has to be the hated, twisted, unreasonable villain so that the True Good Heroine can shine brightly in the OI world.

Isekai girls who desire and pursue the male protagonists are always portrayed as delusional, arrogant, stupid, selfish, evil, and sinister.

And those who act like a fighting "Girlboss" and try to stay out of the way of the powerful, dangerous, handsome heroes and villains are always showered with unwanted attention.

I think there’s a confusing message of purity behind this...

The obsessive original female protagonist/heroine tries too hard to seduce and win over the objects of her conquest, which makes her appear too arrogant, depraved, desperate, and depraved in the narrative.

The Villainess or Non-Heroine, on the other hand, automatically becomes the object of desire and obsession because she either wants nothing to do with the high-ranking main characters or needs them only to survive.

I suppose female characters are only attractive and interesting to egocentric men when they are unattainable.

Some Best Examples:

  • I Swear I Won’t Bother You Again!
  • The Bad Ending of a Otome Game
  • I Have Become The Hero's Rival
  • I Didn't Mean to Seduce the Male Lead!
  • I Stole the Female Lead's First Love
  • The Male Leads Were Stolen by the Extra
  • The Ugly Lady's Secret Pouch

You know, I do find it kind of funny that both of these female reincarnated/transmigrated characters most likely belonged to the working or middle class in their modern-day world, but in the world of otome games and novels, where they’re the ones calling the shots, classism still reigns.

Clichéd plot: The rich, privileged, misunderstood, malicious female protagonist defeats and punishes the two-faced female protagonist from a lower social class or a more modest background.

When you think about it more closely, it’s as if they’re telling us: KNOW YOUR PLACE.

I still wonder: Couldn't Sailor Mars have simply freed herself and the others from the Flower Youma Glycina by setting her vines on fire?🔥🤔

In episode 45, we see Mars grab the vines of the DD Girls' leader and use her last ounce of strength to burn her alive.

But for some reason, she didn't do the same thing in Sailor Moon R: The Movie.

Even if Glycina had caught her, Mars could have used her fire element to harm or kill her directly.

What do you think of this OI or Rofan Trope: The Female Lead or Heroine is transformed into a Cat?

  1. The White Cat Who Swore Vengeance Was Just Lazing on the Dragon King’s Lap / The White Cat's Revenge as Plotted from the Dragon King's Lap
  2. A Timid Lady was Turned into an Ugly Cat, but on the Verge of Fainting is Picked up by the Most Fearsome Military Duke
  3. I Became the Sultan's Precious Cat
  4. I Became the Emperor’s Cat
  5. The Possessive Tyrant and His Sleepy Cat
  6. The Lady Betrayed by Her Fiancé Is Beloved by the Stern Lord
  7. The Villainess Cursed into a Cat Is Taken In by the Crown Prince
  8. The Fake Saint’s Splendid Revenge
  9. Shiawase ni Kurashitemasu node Houtteoite Kudasai! / I’m Living Happily, So Please Leave Me Alone!
  10. The Former Noblewoman with a Distrust for Men Decides to Help the Lustful Prince
  11. Nekura Kishi ni Yoru Dekiai Mankitsu-chuu nu Busa Neko, Jitsu wa Seijo desu! / The Gloomy Knight's Beloved Ugly Cat Is Actually a Saint

Questions:

  • Can you imagine marrying someone who used to be your pet?
  • Do you have any idea why this storyline has become a popular trope in the Romance Fantasy genre?
  • Do you know any other similar stories?

  13. Cure Flamingo - Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure (2021)
  14. Cure Wing - Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure (2023)

Note:

I still don't understand why Cure Wing isn't featured on this Shikishi ART depicting the Red Cures and why Cure Butterfly is placed there instead of him.

And I personally associate Cure Soleil (or even Cure Yum-Yum) more with the colour orange than yellow.

I still wonder what happened to Souichi Tomoe after Setsuna Meiou/Sailor Pluto took/borrowed his daughter Hotaru in Episode 167..... Because he was never seen and ever mentioned again.

How the hell did she convince him to give away his beloved away!?

And how would you have rewritten his minor role or cameo in Sailor Moon Sailor Stars?
