Anyone else curious whether Zombie Scavenger actually works as a game?

A while back, Zombie Scavenger was getting passed around everywhere. I remember a lot of people comparing it to something that could've been an episode of Love, Death & Robots, which honestly wasn't a crazy comparison. The atmosphere carried the whole thing.

What I only found out recently is that Mx-Shell is apparently working with Yoroll to turn it into a playable interactive version that's aiming for this summer.

While it’s cool to see AI shorts evolve, it raises a massive creative question:

Can you turn a "minimalist short" into a "game" without losing the soul?

Making a great short film and making a great interactive experience feel like two completely different creative problems.

The original worked because it was restrained. Hardly any dialogue, a ton of visual storytelling, and a robot cowboy whose personality mostly came through animation instead of exposition. You were left filling in the gaps yourself.

An interactive version doesn't automatically benefit from that.

My biggest concern is that it'll feel the need to explain everything or constantly throw choices at the player. I'd honestly rather have fewer decisions if it means preserving that lonely, uneasy atmosphere that made the original memorable.

On the other hand, if the choices mostly shape the cowboy's attitude, relationships, or moral direction while keeping the storytelling subtle, I could see it working really well.

Either way, it's a fascinating experiment.

We've seen plenty of viral shorts become series or films, but "viral AI short → interactive experience" feels like a much bigger leap. Suddenly you're not just directing a story anymore. you're designing one that people can push against.

I'm really curious whether that transition actually works, or whether we'll end up seeing exactly where the seams start to show.

We’ve seen viral shorts become Netflix series before, but is the 'interactive AI' route the next logical step for indie creators?

how do you keep track of food allergens while grocery shopping?

A few days ago I picked up what I thought was a safe snack because the packaging looked familiar. when I got home and checked the ingredients more carefully I saw they have changed the recipe and added one of my allergens. it was a good reminder that you can't always rely on memory but reading every label from top to bottom every time gets exhausting.

I have looked into a few allergy apps that claim to scan barcodes, flag allergens but I'm not sure which one should I use.

If you use an app for checking ingredients , which one has been the most helpful for you?

This World Cup story actually changed its knockout bracket when I replayed it

With the World Cup on, I went looking for something a bit more interactive than just watching highlights and ended up trying a browser-based World Cup story on Yoroll.

The premise is pretty standard: pick a team, handle squad selection, morale, tactics, and media between matches.

I picked Italy purely because they didn't even make the real tournament and decided to embrace full football terrorism.

Low block.

Long balls.

Minimal possession.

Zero interest in making friends with the media.

It was glorious.

We scraped through the group stage on goal difference, beat one of the favourites on penalties after spending 120 minutes defending in a 5-4-1, and somehow stumbled into the semi-finals.

The in-game headlines kept calling us "the most hated team left in the tournament," and my approval rating was basically nonexistent.

Then I got greedy.

Started a half-fit striker in the semis.

He pulled up injured twenty minutes in, we went out, and the ending said the FA "respected my vision but declined to renew my contract."

That alone would've been a fun one-off run.

What surprised me was replaying it.

I've played enough interactive fiction to be skeptical whenever something promises "branching." Usually it's just different flavour text before everything merges back together.

Here, replaying the same group stage actually changed the knockout bracket. Different opponents showed up, injuries happened in different places, and the overall tournament unfolded differently depending on earlier decisions.

It's definitely not parser IF or a massive ChoiceScript epic. Some of the smaller dialogue choices still felt like they converged too quickly.

But the bigger tournament structure genuinely seemed willing to diverge, which is honestly all I was hoping for.

Curious whether anyone else here has tried AI-generated interactive stories that actually reward replaying instead of just pretending to.

Does anyone actually go back and read all their meeting notes?

Serious question.I used to fill notebooks every week

because it made me feel productive. Then I cleaned my desk a few days ago and realized I hadn't looked at half of those notes in months.Kind of a depressing moment. Now I mostly write down decisions or things I personally need to doo. Everything else, I'd rather have recorded somewhere just in case.Someone here recommended trying a dedicated recorder a while back, so I've been messing around with recpoint recently. It's honestly been fine. Not perfect though.Speaker separation gets confused once in a while if people interrupt each other, and I still double-check important stuff before forwarding notes to anyone. On the plus side, the 3000 free transcription minutes after logging into the app made it pretty easy to test without spending anything upfront.I'm curious if people still keep detailed handwritten notes or if everyone has quietly moved on to something else.

Looking for books where the FMC crosses a line and the MMC calmly makes her regret it

I've been desperately craving a specific vibe lately. You know that moment when the FMC does something, and then suddenly realizes she might have just woken up a sleeping lion?

Not cheating though. I'm talking about that stage where they're still in the push-pull, not officially together yet, and the FMC does something like go on a date with someone else, sleeps with someone else, or just does something stupid against the MMC's warning. Then he finds out. And she suddenly discovers that this man's possessiveness is a thousand times more terrifying than she ever imagined.

Example: I still can't get over that scene in The Maddest Obsession where Gianna brings a guy home, and Christian calmly walks into the room and shoots him. Didn't say a word. But that image is burned into my brain. And in Sex, Lies and Nikolai, when the MMC finds out the FMC went to another man for help instead of him—that moment when the air literally froze.

That's what I want.

Not the yelling, throwing-stuff type. I want the "the calmer he is, the more scared you are" type. Voice drops an octave. Eyes change. Tone is mild. But the whole room drops ten degrees.

Scenarios like:

FMC goes on a date, MMC shows up at the restaurant, pulls out a chair, and smiles the whole time

FMC comes home after a one-night stand and finds him sitting on her couch waiting

FMC works with the MMC's rival, and the next day that rival's company has a little "accident"

FMC just pushes his boundaries a little too far and suddenly realizes she might have fucked up

I want that moment where she goes from "he probably won't do anything" to "oh shit, I fucked with the wrong person."

Open to anything—mafia, MC (motorcycle club), werewolf, fantasy. MMC should be the type who's controlling, doesn't talk much, but one look makes your knees weak. FMC street-smart and poor is a bonus.

Here are 10 novels I found on a recent ranking list—has anyone read them and can tell me which one fits best?

  1. Game of Destiny

Classic werewolf fated mates. FMC starts out as a wolf-less weakling. I heard the MMC gets super possessive later. Any scenes like "touch her and you're dead" or "she's not someone you can afford to touch"?

  1. The Mafia Princess Return

Mafia background. FMC runs away and gets dragged back. The synopsis makes the MMC sound like the type who thinks "you think you can escape? run once, I'll catch you every time." Any specific "cross the line → he acts" moments?

  1. From Rejected Mate to Luna

Rejected mate comeback. Usually the ex gets destroyed, but I want to know—is there a scene where the FMC has already moved on, and the ex suddenly loses it with "she's mine, nobody touches her"?

  1. Sold! To the Grizzly Don

Bear shifter mafia boss + arranged marriage. The combo alone sounds intense. But is the MMC the violent "try running and see what happens" type, or the creepy "go ahead and run, I'll find you anyway" type?

  1. The Shadow of a Luna

Heard the FMC has a rough past and the MMC is the "touch her and you disappear" type. Any specific scene where she accidentally crosses him and suddenly realizes "oh fuck"?

  1. The CEO's Unspoken Love

The quiet ones are always the scariest when they snap. Any scene where the FMC does something (like getting close to someone else) and the CEO finally drops the act and confronts her?

  1. Falling for My Boyfriend's Navy Brother

Forbidden vibes maxed out. The setup itself is "crossing the line." Any scene where the MMC directly intervenes and makes her understand she's gone too far?

  1. The Lycan King's Treasured Luna

Lycan King level possessiveness should be off the charts. Does the FMC ever try to run? Any scene where she gets caught and held by the shoulders with "you're not going anywhere"?

  1. Before He Became My Obsessed Billionaire

"Obsessed" is literally in the title. But is it the "I'll watch you from afar" type or the "look at someone else and find out" type? Big difference. Anyone read it?

  1. Mated to Her Alpha Instructor

Academy + instructor + fated mates. The power imbalance alone screams control. Any scene where the FMC gets close to another student and the instructor claims her in front of everyone?

Has anyone read any of these 10? Which one best fits what I'm looking for—calm and oppressive MMC, FMC crosses the line and immediately gets put in her place? Or if you have better recs, throw them my way too. The more the better.

Book drought is killing me. Save a girl.

Whenever I pet my dog, I wonder what good deeds I must have done to deserve such a loyal friend

I smiled at a drunk scooter guy and it made him ragebaited

Today I was crossing the road after having a samosa and there was a traffic jam on the other side. I thought I'd just squeeze through the side since there was some space.

Out of nowhere, a guy on a scooter came speeding in, started blasting his horn and yelling. I immediately moved aside without arguing or even looking at him properly. He went ahead... then suddenly stopped, turned around and started abusing me."ye l\*deya tujhya a\*chi \*\*" etc etc(marathi gali)

His eyes were completely red (drunk)and he even acted like he was about to hit me. For a second my brain flashed to that recent mumbai local train stabbing case. I genuinely wondered that wtf I even do.

Then the traffic behind him started honking, so he left while still throwing abuses. I couldn't help laughing because it was so obvious he was either drunk or just looking for someone to take his anger out on.

Gave that mfker a killer smile and it ragebaited him even more🤣🤣🙏🏻

As he drove away, he looked back one instead of looking to the traffic and shouted another abuse." Tujhya a\*\* dash dash dash\*\*""(marathi gali)

The funny part is I literally didn't say a single word. These days it feels like the safest response is just to apologize and walk away, even when you've done nothing.

Feeling bad for his family🥰

Also after reaching home the idea of recording the scene came in my mind(i have a reaction time of a turtle)

Why do all weather mats still make nice interiors feel cheap?

I am shopping for all weather floor mats for 2026 and keep running into the same hard plastic tray look. I get why people buy them: mud, coffee, wet shoes, easy cleanup. But in a newer car with a decent interior, that stiff tray texture and hollow sound under your heel feels out of place.

Is there a middle ground that protects the carpet without making the footwell look like a utility van? I am more interested in fit, grip, and whether the material feels normal day to day than in the tallest lip possible. What have you used that still looks decent after a few months?
