Is EVERYBODY'S GOLF HOT SHOTS worth buying yet?

I was interested in the game a while back but saw a lot of backlash and negative reviews, and everybodys golf on playstation was on sale so I just decided to buy that.

Its been a while since I played and hot shots is on sale on steam now, and the recent reviews seem to be better.

I dont really know what was wrong with the game in the first place, but is that fixed now? Is the game worth it?

I am never ever gonna play with other people again

I just beat omega planetes finally after 3.5h of trying and finally have the chocobo ive been looking forward to since I started the game (60h ago)

The first 1 or 2 tries we just did it with me and my friend and it didnt go so well. Then she suggested taking npcs with us (which i didnt know was a thing we could do) and I did that. But turns out that enables other players to join too, and since it went better than last time I was like okay sure lets play with other players just for this monster (I normally like to keep to myself and not play with random people)

We had so many really good attempts, where our teammates just decided to kill themselves right at the end. One of them even just walked out the bubble when he did his giant laser thing and lost us the fight.

I was sick of all the players constantly dying right at the end, so I tried something new. No more other players, but only npcs like we wanted to in the first place. And what happens? We beat it immediately.

I am NEVER letting other players join my hunts ever again. That shit cost me my sanity.

BUT YAY I HAVE A CHOCOBO LETS GOOOOOO

P.S. The phase 3 song fucking slaps

Edit: Do you all not read posts before commenting? I literally mention how I disabled other players needing to join and let only support hunters join, and I got like 30 comments telling me how to do the thing I already said I did 😭

Old monster hunter made me better at modern monster hunter

A bit of backstory, I got interested in monster hunter with world, but never really played it much. I have 10h in the game but thats with 3 restarts so I never got far.

I then bought rise to play with a friend but that I also only played for 10h and lost interest

After some though I decided to give in and buy wilds, and thats finally game that really got me into monster hunter which I tried to get into since I bought world. I am 40h in and fucking loving it.

It even made me curious in old monster hunter, and I saw generations ultimate is on switch and it was on sale so i decided to buy it and played it a bit today.

I did a bunch of gather quests and slaying small monsters and then earlier I finally got to the first real fight against a big monster. And on my first try I lost very badly. I was constantly getting hit for half my health and running out of heals and dying.
Second attempt was the same at the start, but on my last life I locked in and almost beat him, but I ran out of durability and any and all ways to get whetstones so I barely did damage and eventually died.
My third attempt it finally clicked. I started playing more passive, actually waiting for opportunities to attack instead of rushing in and spamming attack and just hoping that I can dodge his attacks when they pop up. And I beat him without dying.

Now in wilds, what I used to do was just attack and dodge when I can, but I would use an absurd amount of heals. Like up to 30 per fight if its a long fight. And I just fought a really hard 30min double fight with a friend against 2 dragons, and we basically fought each dragon alone. And this fight would not have gone well before, but generations ultimate, even tho I only fought the very first and probably easiest monster, it really made me understand monster hunter as a whole better.

Instead of constantly attacking I actually observed the monster and saw when I needed to stop attacking and dodge, and I realized that instead of fully needing to dodge, most attacks i could literally just casually walk away from. I feel way more comfortable and confident fighting monsters. I only had to heal like 3 times that entire fight.

So even tho I only fought a single monster in generations ultimate, i feel like it really helped me understand how to actually play the games as a whole.

Did we skip something? Are we gonna be fricked later? No spoilers

No spoilers please, but Im worried.

We just finished the red tower and got the second key to the map, but we did it a bit weirdly.

4/5 things into the red tower we got distracted and put 3 things in the green tower, I looked up a guide later and turns out one of those 3 things we put in the green tower belonged in the red tower. But we didn't know that back then.

So after like 2 hours of wandering around not finding anything to get that last piece for the red tower we finally found a room on some high mountain way off into the distance, where we had to wait 30 minutes to get it. And we put that into the red tower and it worked.

But that little figure thing is purple, and its the only purple one we can see on the map, so Im worried its important for something else and we maybe softlocked ourselves out of something in the future with that.

If that is the case then we'll just quickly speedrun to our current progression again but this time with the right puzzles.

Am I worrying for nothing or is that important in the future and we should restart and quickly get back?

How do people enjoy minecraft speedrunning?

This question isn't coming from malice or anything, but genuine confusion. The appeal to speedrunning for me is slowly becoming better and better at the game and always improving. But with minecraft its just so random.

I was watching a video about a speedrun and then I thought about how nervewracking it has to be to get a good seed and then having to lock in so you don't mess up, but then I thought further about it. You need to get a good seed, then you need good luck with trades, good luck with rods and a bunch of other stuff is basically fully dependent on luck with no way to influence it from the speedrunner.

And I just don't really understand how people can have fun with speedrunning something so insanely luck dependent.

Sorry if its a dumb question

[UI] How to do navigation with sliders?

https://preview.redd.it/pz6cmr8mwcgh1.png?width=630&format=png&auto=webp&s=f6be56445c953ab1c2f0d898353283537cb95b99

I have a settings menu like this and I just realized you cant even get to video or audio settings with controller, because when you're on the slider left and right only interacts with the slider and doesnt navigate the UI. How can I fix this?

Also, a lot of the time when I start the game the UI just completely ignores the controller until I select a button with mouse, even tho I already set a button to be selected. How can I fix that?

Can someone explain this to me? Im new to splatoon so idk what these are

I thought the 2 icons were just male or female but they're not, so now im confused what they mean? Are they different species or something? I thought it was just squids

u/Pancwake_UwU — 22 days ago

I'm about to start genocide after playing pacifist and then deltarune and ITS MAKING ME FEEL BAD ABOUT IT ALREADY

u/Pancwake_UwU — 23 days ago

Is raiders connected to splatoon 2 and 3? Like at all?

I've seen some people say to at least watch a video of the story of 2 and 3 before playing raiders, and I've seen people say that you don't need to play or know them at all to enjoy raiders (im sure you wont need it to enjoy it, but I wanna be caught up on the story)

So I cant really find a definitive answer, but I also dont wanna watch a video of the stories cuz I wanna play them myself someday. So if they're not connected at all I could just buy raiders, if it would be good to know their stories ill buy and play 2 and 3 before raiders.

Is it bad that I just don't care for the strawberry jam lobby?

Celeste is one of my favorite games ever and I've been wanting to check out strawberry jam for a while now, but I never really got into it because of the hub world. Its just really inconvenient to navigate and I hate having to find the levels and stuff, and most I played was like 3 or 4 levels before I just gave up.

I just redownloaded mods and decided to check it out again, and I found a ui helper or something which lets me teleport to the different levels, which I find way more appealing because I play celeste to play fun and challenging levels, and not to explore. But I also feel kinda bad about because Im sure a lot of effort was put into the lobby and here I am just skipping all of it.

This is no hate to strawberry jam, Im sure the lobby is lovely and all, but I wish they just let you select the levels normally in the map itself without having to install a seperate mod.

What do you guys think about it?

Does celeste get easier when you die??

Sometimes I couldve sworn this room was different, but I thought Im either crazy or the game was patched to make this room easier. But now I noticed its different again, and I checked a video and sure enough, on the left there should be blobs but i can just stand there.

Does celeste have difficulty scaling??? I've never heard anyone even mention that before

Steam setting to make diagonals more consistent?

For some reason I have a lot of trouble getting diagonally down dashes. A lot of the time they just result in their just down or just to the side.

Its 100% a skill issue from me but Im wondering if theres any steam controller settings I can use to make them more consistent? Or any tips on how to improve on that?

I am major stupid

I've been running around this area for like a solid 10 minutes not understanding what to do. I activated the thing in the middle and flooded the area with water, but then just kept jumping around on the lilypads and now seeing a path forward.

After what feels like forever of being borderline confused I finally realized. For some reason my dumbass thought that floor I'm standing on in the pic is elevated, so I never even thought of walking on it.

Chapter 9 spike hitboxes bigger?

I just tried speedrunning chapter 9 after speedrunning any% a few times, and I swear it has bigger hitboxes. Im dying to spikes that I barely even touched so much which I feel like shouldn't have killed me.

Am I just genuinely going insane or is the hitbox actually bigger?
