+600 People Chose HabitRail ❤️

A few months ago, I had an idea.

I wanted a habit tracker where your habits actually belong to you.

No accounts.
No subscriptions.
No ads.
No cloud.
Just your data, stored on your own device.

So I started building HabitRail.

Today, I checked the Play Console and realized something that honestly made my day...

More than 600 people have installed it. ❤️

I know 600 isn't millions, but as a solo developer, seeing hundreds of people around the world use something I built is surreal.

One thing that surprised me the most is how many different countries it's reached.

To make HabitRail accessible, I translated it into 17+ languages, and now people from all over the world are using it to build habits, track streaks, and stay consistent.

Every download, every review, and every piece of feedback has helped shape the app into what it is today.

Some of the features users asked for have already made it into the app:

  • Local backup & restore
  • Streak Freeze
  • Calendar history
  • Detailed statistics
  • Custom reminders
  • Daily, weekly, and custom habits
  • Completely offline
  • No account required

And I'm not stopping there.

I'm currently working on home screen widgets, so you'll soon be able to check your progress and complete habits without even opening the app. They'll be coming in one of the next updates, and I'm really excited to share them.

I still have a long list of ideas I'd love to build.

If you'd like to support an indie developer, the biggest things that help are:

  • Trying the app
  • Leaving an honest review
  • Sharing feedback (good or bad)

It genuinely keeps me motivated to continue improving HabitRail.

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hzfapps.habitrail

Thank you to every single person who's downloaded HabitRail.

Here's to the next 600. 🚂❤️

[App] [Promo] Unitly: got tired of googling “cups to grams”

A few weeks ago, I was in the kitchen trying to follow a recipe I found online.

It said “200 grams of flour.”
I only had cups.

So I did what everyone does…
Google → “grams to cups” → click a random site → get distracted by ads → go back → retype → repeat.

By the time I figured it out, I’d already messed up the recipe.

That moment annoyed me more than it should have.

Because it’s not just cooking — it’s everything.
Converting units when traveling.
Checking temperatures.
Figuring out currency.
Even simple things like km ↔ miles.

It always feels harder than it should be.

So I built something for myself.

A simple app where you just type once…
and instantly see all the conversions.

No switching tabs.
No guessing.
No clutter.

I called it Unitly.

Now when I cook, I just open it, type a number, and everything shows up immediately — grams, cups, ounces, all in one place.

It also has:

  • A built-in calculator (for when recipes get weird)
  • Works completely offline
  • Dark mode (because bright apps in the kitchen at night are painful 😅)

I didn’t build it as a “startup idea” or anything like that.
I just wanted something I’d actually use every day.

And now I do.

If you’ve ever:

  • Googled conversions mid-recipe
  • Gotten frustrated switching between units
  • Or just wanted something simpler

You might find it useful too.

Would love for you to try it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hzfapps.unitly

And if it helps you even once while cooking, that honestly makes it worth it for me 🙏

Android / Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hzfapps.habitrail

Me encantaría recibir opiniones.

Built a habit tracker recently and thought some people here might appreciate the approach behind it.

  • free to use
  • no ads

  • works fully offline

I made it because I was looking for a habit tracker that didn’t require creating an account, syncing everything to a server, or locking basic features behind a subscription.

Everything works locally on-device. No login, no cloud dependency, no internet needed after install.

You can:

  • track daily or custom-schedule habits
  • view streaks and completion history in a calendar
  • set per-habit reminders
  • see progress and stats over time
  • use streak freeze for missed days without losing momentum

Still improving it and open to ideas—especially from people who care about privacy, offline-first apps, and owning their own data.

[Android] [FREE Lifetime] HabitRail — Habit tracker, no ads, no account, works offline

As a solo developer, I spent a lot of time thinking about features.

Streak tracking. Habit reminders. Calendar history. Stats. Flexible schedules.

I thought people would care most about what the app can do.

But what I realized is people care just as much about what the app doesn’t do.

They don’t want ads everywhere.

They don’t want to create an account just to try an app.

They don’t want to be pushed into a subscription before they’ve even used it.

They don’t want a habit tracker that feels heavier than the habits themselves.

That’s why I built HabitRail around a really simple idea:

✔ Free
✔ No ads
✔ No account required
✔ Works fully offline
✔ Your data stays on your device

You can track daily habits or custom schedules, view streaks and completion history on a calendar, set reminders per habit, and see your progress over time.

There’s also a streak freeze feature for those days when life gets messy but you don’t want to lose momentum completely.

Still improving it regularly, and I’m genuinely curious:

What’s one thing you wish more habit tracker apps did better?

Would love to hear feedback from anyone into offline-first, simple productivity apps.
