Nine shareholders vote for regional sale to WIN

Nine shareholders have today unanimously voted in favour of selling off their regional TV assets to WIN Television, including Nine (NTD-8) Darwin. The competition watchdog ACCC had already approved the deal.

It means for Darwin viewers, there will almost certainly soon be changes coming to Nine Darwin. The arrival of WIN Television into the NT will see the end of the currently Newcastle-produced 9News Darwin mini-bulletins, to likely be replaced with short, generic, WIN News noodle updates. As for a full bulletin, if it were to return, it would have the WIN News branding, and would serve the entire NT, from Darwin to Alice Springs.

Network 10 to go off air in country SA and NSW as WIN Television deal lapses

Terrestrial transmissions for Network 10's broadcast signals in Griffith (NSW), Mount Gambier and the Riverland + Loxton (SA) will be shut down on 30th June 2026 by WIN Television.

This will be the 2nd set of Network 10 signals owned and operated by an affiliate broadcaster (or half owned by 2 broadcasters as a joint venture) to be shut down since Mildura on 30th June 2024 (2 years ago), when joint-venture station MDT (Mildura Digital Television, Network 10 affiliate) ceased operations after WIN deemed the JV station to be running at a loss since its inception back in 2006.

Commonwealth Bank branch in Belmont permanently closing on 26th June 2026

Belmont will officially soon be without a bank. The Commonwealth Bank, located at 172 High Street, will be permanently closing at 4pm on 26th June 2026.

Signs went up outside and inside the bank branch very recently, confirming the closure. After 26th June 2026, customers wishing to continue banking with CommBank via a bank branch will need to head to Geelong CBD, Geelong West, Waurn Ponds or Corio as the nearest bank branches. The nearest available option in Belmont for local banking is the local Post Office.

Last year, CommBank committed to keeping regional bank branches open until 31st July 2027. With the closure of the Belmont bank branch it looks like they have just broken that commitment altogether as this closure is in the Geelong area, in which Geelong is classified as Regional.

The last bank branch closure that took effect in Belmont was the NAB at 176 High Street, which permanently closed on 30th March 2023 (now occupied by the Salvos Op Shop), leaving the CommBank as the only bank branch remaining in Belmont. But very soon though, there will be NO bank.

Really Reddit? So a VPN is deemed an extension? And no, I ain’t giving you my ID…

They really are trying hard aren't they. Trying really hard to stop VPN users (like me) from gaining access to Reddit. And no, I am not turning off my VPN just so you can force Persona in my face. Has this ever happened to you? Because honestly, Reddit is now just playing cat and mouse with me.

They keep hiding my posts, turning off my follower count, and even keep turning off the ability for people to send me Chat Requests. And I have to constantly go back and keep turning these features back on again. No wonder why users on Reddit haven’t been able to PM me, now I know why.

Classic stuff, Reddit is essentially trying to shadow-ban my presence here now unless I give them my government ID, or credit card or a selfie. I will never stop using a VPN to access Reddit. They ain't having one bit of my ID.

And yes, I got this whilst logging back into Reddit using a VPN… (fixed easily with a quick refresh)

What’s with YouTube channels like this one getting hacked?

This one e.g. Full movies uploaded to the linked channel. How many normal YouTubers are seemingly having their channels hacked? Reminds me of that whole Wall-E Full Movie thing from 2 or so years ago I must admit.

BREAKING NEWS: Sky News and the ABC are both projecting One Nation's David Farley has won the seat of Farrer

u/Radio_TVGuy — 13 days ago

In addition, he has even deleted all (but 1) of his videos from his YouTube channel.

This is exactly what happens when YouTube prioritises AI slop content/creators first and foremost rather than real, genuine, authentic human creators/content. Their AI moderation is exactly what turned YouTube into the platform it is today, a platform hosting endless AI slop for every age. Going to be wide open about that. They aren’t even bothering with this guy so he’s about to give Google the arse/final insult.

Well Nepean (on the Mornington Peninsula) has decided. Anthony Marsh has won the electorate’s by-election, and the Liberal Party will retain the seat.

Marsh replaces former deputy Liberal leader and tennis player Sam Groth, who resigned from parliament in February, which triggered the Nepean by-election.

>!In other by-election news (for those interested), Farrer heads to the polls for their by-election next weekend.!<

Hope this doesn't clarify as a low-effort post, otherwise this attempt is doomed...

Hi guys. I'm just wondering did anyone here tune into Christopher Saint Music's live Q&A stream today? https://www.youtube.com/live/2waeqg926v8

If so, did anyone manage to tape and archive it? The stream is now private, and I left a question for the Booth brothers regarding if they'll make their newly announced album (currently on pre-order online) available in brick-and-mortar CD/DVD stores, especially in my country where they still sell them.

I was wanting to know the answer to this (as I was intending on getting the album with the OG 1985 master tape of Ulterior Motives on pristine quality CD in an uncompressed lossless format via my local retailer) and I was unable to make the stream today, but I was hoping if anyone managed to archive it to some extent so I can find out. And yeah I tried to pre-order the album online on the day of the announcement of the OG tape being found but PayPal ended up returning an error message for me so I couldn't even do so.

Thanks very much guys, your help is really appreciated.
