Seeking Crew Members for Low-Budget Horror-Mystery Feature (100% Disability-Led Production)

Hey everyone,

I’m working on my debut horror/mystery feature, and I’m building it around a core mission: 100% authentic representation, both in front of and behind the camera. That means Deaf actors, disability actors, and disability crew members at every level of production.

This is the start of what I hope becomes an ongoing film company dedicated to closing the gap between disabled talent and the industry. Filmmakers helping filmmakers, low-budget and DIY in spirit, but with real ambition for the final product.

I am aiming to film during summer 2027, though this may shift depending on my senior thesis workload this spring/fall, so I’ll keep everyone posted on firm dates.

If you’re interested in being part of something that puts disability representation at the center instead of the margins, I’d love to have you involved.

Sign up here and I’ll follow up as plans solidify:
👉Sign-up form

Feel free to comment or DM with questions. I am happy to talk more about the project, the vision, or the logistics.

Edit: filming will be taking place in Northern California south of Lake Tahoe.

A conlang for an animal like species

Hi, I am working on a new conlang for an animal species that inhabits the planet Sandora. Think of them as a cross between a camel and a goat with them being more camel like. The only sounds they would be able to produce are blowing and grunting. Gammels blow in each other’s faces as a way of greeting each other. I have gone ahead and created the phonology, but before I move on I would like to get your guys’ thoughts and opinions.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong

I am doing multi-app between DoorDash and Uber. I have been dashing since 10:00am and have only gotten two order total. Is this due to only accepting orders over $5.00. I literally sit in areas where there are restaurants and grocery stores, so I’m not entirely sure what is going on.

I am in the San Fernando Valley in LA. Does anyone have any tips or tricks?

The Cabin - 79 Pages - Feature Feedback

Title: The Cabin

Format: Feature Film

Page Length: 79

Genres: horror, mystery. Think The Conjuring, Hereditary, and The Exorcist

Logline or Summary: When an atheist family staying in a cabin unknowingly wakes an ancient demon, the parents must confront the faith they've long rejected to save their daughter before it consumes her completely.

Feedback Concerns: I submitted my first draft a few weeks ago. I have made some major changes to my feature script.

Below is a list of common questions I have. You are welcome to submit any feedback outside of this.

Where did you find yourself most engaged? Where did your attention drift?

Did the pacing feel right, or were there scenes that dragged/felt rushed?

Is the central conflict (atheist family forced to confront faith) clear and compelling throughout?

Did the ending feel earned, or did it come too fast / too easily?

[M4F] 21 Seeking a True Authentic Relationship

Hi,

My name is Ryan. I am male and 21 years old.

I did date someone for the very first time, but they ended up being a little toxic for me. After that myself esteem plummeted and ever since I have been just focusing on myself living day to day.

I feel like I have been focusing too much on myself lately and I just need to get out there.

Let’s get straight to the point. I’m not here seeking a hookup. I actually want a long term relationship. An honest, loyal, authentic relationship. I feel like in today’s society you aren’t really going to see that anymore.

I only have one more year of college and I’m not entirely sure how things are going to look like after college. My aspiration is to become a film editor in Hollywood. Right now I’m working as a production assistant.

I will say my hobbies to see if anyone wants to tag along. I am getting tickets to the Odyssey if anyone wants to go with me.

I will say that I tend to have quite a bit of hobbies.

I love to cook and bake, and love exploring the best ramen places in LA. I like to bowl. I want to join a league at some point. I also like to read and write. I’m actually working on a novel. During the winter time I ski. I have been skiing ever since I was a little boy. It’s ok if you don’t know how to ski. I would love to teach you. I’m always down for that.

Getting Into Business Casual.

Hi, I’m new to this subreddit and I just recently started thinking about my style. I’m really into business casual and really dislike wearing shorts even though it is warm outside.

I have never really took the time to actually explore my own color or style.

The colors I always wear are blue, green, black, white. I think the reason as to why I wear these colors so much is because my eye color is blue/green.

I also wear red but not as much as the colors I mentioned.

I am 21 and I wear 28 waist size pants and have to use a belt no matter what because I don’t want to do those pants that come with adjustable bands.

P.S. I reside in the LA area if that has anything to do with clothing brands, stores, etc.

Looking for new friends or someone to go on a date with

Hi, I have been going to the movies recently, and I'm looking to go with others and maybe get some food too. I'm 21 BTW.

I have been having no luck with the dating scene here in LA, and I am slowly starting to improve myself after I ended my first-ever relationship in March, which was a little toxic for me. Just too many red flags. My self-esteem really plummeted after that, but getting much better now.

My hobbies include cooking, baking, writing, reading, bowling, skiing, and I love trying new foods in the area.

I’ve Been Called in For A Job Test/Assessment

So I’ve made it past the interview stage and they want me to go into work on Sunday to do some sort of job test/assessment to make sure I can actually do the job. The job would be a PA for a film company that makes videos for a popular YouTube channel.

This is my very first official job and I do not want to mess this up as I want to keep coming back. I’m actually kind of excited rather than nervous.

I have no idea how to go about this or what I should do? Any advice? I did try and do more research on the company but it is a production company and I can’t find any information about them online.

I have a print book

I posted on Reddit a while back announcing the publication of my first-ever conlang book.

I now finally have my very own hardcover copy, and I'm super excited to share it with you.
