A card handed out in Prague, for an anomaly in Helsinki. 🔵

I designed a save-the-date card for Ingress Resistance Finland, built to distribute at the Prague anomaly months ahead of the Helsinki XM Anomaly on July 18th, 2026.

The front is built around the Lantern Bearers from Helsinki Central Railway Station, redrawn in vector and reduced to two colors. The globes they hold carry the Ingress faction mark and the Resistance key, tying the city's own monumental sculpture directly to the event. The scalloped border comes from the official visual identity of the city of Helsinki, and echoes through the fluted columns beneath the figures so the motif runs through the whole composition.

Color required a specific local sensitivity. Blue and yellow together read as the Swedish flag. So yellow was confined strictly to the Helsinki coat of arms, where it originates, and everything else stays blue. Unmistakably Finnish.

The back teases a logo still in development, with a whooper swan in silhouette as a quiet preview. The Finnish national bird, researched and drawn rather than approximated. The web address closes with the word "blue" in a brighter blue, a nod to the Resistance rallying line.

Helsinki will be blue.

Shorty ran a BBQ fundraiser to help get Tyrone West's art in a gallery for the first time. I took pictures.

Shorty's BBQ pulled up on Harford Road last month to cook for West Wednesday. Ribs, mac, greens, all of it going out the side of his smoker right there in front of Found Studio Shop.

If you don't know, West Wednesday is the protest Tawanda Jones has been leading every single week since Baltimore police killed her brother Tyrone West in 2013. Thirteen years and still no accountability. Still showing up.

The West Coalition is raising money right now for an art exhibit opening at the Peale Museum in June. It'll feature Tyrone's own paintings (the man was a serious portrait artist) alongside work from other families who've lost people to police violence.

Huge thanks to Shorty for feeding everybody and to all the folks who came out, ate, donated, bought a shirt, or just stood there and listened.

If you missed it and want to throw in:

Reviving this Lamp

Hi good people! How do I revive this lamp?

It worked for a while after I rescued it from a thrifts store, but then the wax became transparent and it won't rise anymore.

And please ELI5, I've never done this (and didn't know I could!)

The chest carries the Jersey City XM Anomaly event logo scaled up to fill the front: the Baldwin "Baby Face" diesel in gold and blue, the event date of 30 May, "XM Anomaly" along the bottom arc, and the Resistance hex logo pendant below.

The sleeve is customized per agent, with the Orion star hex patch on the shoulder and the agent's name running vertically down the arm in gold.

I'd love to hear what you hoodie heads think!

Ingress awards in-game badges for recharging and recruiting, but anomaly event contributions don't count toward those totals. These stickers were made to recognize players who did it anyway. Each one mimics the visual language of the corresponding official Ingress badge, redrawn in the Jersey City Anomaly palette of navy, gold, and light blue, with "Jersey City" set in gold along the bottom edge.

▲ 2 r/Pins

The circular pin centers the Baldwin "Baby Face" diesel double-ender in blue and gold, the same locomotive from the challenge coin, rendered here in full color enamel with the red pinstripe detail along its body.

The train breaks out of the circular border on the right, giving the pin a dynamic die-cut silhouette. "Jersey City" arcs across the top and "Resistance" runs along the bottom, with the Resistance faction hex logo pendant below.

The gold and navy palette ties the pin directly to the patch and coin as a complete event swag set.

This pin was commissioned by NJ Resistance, the New Jersey faction of the Ingress Resistance. Ingress is an augmented reality game developed by Niantic.

The hexagonal shape is standard Ingress visual language. The gold field and navy and light blue concentric hex borders carry the NJ Resistance’s event colors. The center layers the Resistance version of the Ingress logo as the base, with the three four-pointed Orion stars from the official Orion medal overlaid on top, connecting the patch directly to the anomaly event and tying it visually to the challenge coin.

The coin is built around the PATH token, the transit coin used on the Port Authority Trans-Hudson rail line connecting Jersey City to Manhattan. The PATH token’s defining feature is a notch cut through its center, and that notch carries through both faces of this coin as well, unifying the design across front and back.

The front centers the PATH arrow mark with the notch running through it. Three stars from Orion’s belt flank the arrow, rendered to match the finish of the physical medallion. The “Orion” wordmark uses the font from Niantic’s official event announcements. The border carries a Walt Whitman quote about a locomotive, chosen because Whitman lived in New Jersey, and the poem fits both the train and the transit token.

The back centers a modified Resistance key whose hilt replaces the traditional diamond with an Orion star, and whose shaft carries the PATH notch. The Dutch East India Company monogram appears separately, honoring the voyage that led to the founding of Jersey City, and a half-moon semicircle shape is worked into the logo, referencing Henry Hudson’s ship.

The Baldwin Locomotive Works logo inside the key honors the maker of the Baldwin “Baby Face” diesel double-ender depicted on the right, a locomotive unique to the New Jersey Central Rail. To the left, three Orion stars double as the Lenape Three Sisters, the corn, beans, and squash the Lenape people of this region cultivated together, illustrated on the right side of the coin.

The background circular pattern is a Lenape wampum belt associated with this territory, its banded form echoing Orion’s belt.
