Thinking of rejoining a cult: what should I do?

I was part of a church on 3 separate occasions that I later came to find out was a cult. Here's the thing even though I'm aware they are a cult(and they are, they qualify by the BITE model criteria) I'm still thinking of reaching out to current members and possibly rejoining. The reason is my life has not been going great and I have never felt a sense of community and belonging anywhere else. I know this is probably residual brainwashing but I'm just tired of feeling bad all the time and ppl in my current life only treat me like crap or like I'm nothing. I have no control over anything and no agency or autonomy so at the worst this would be a lateral move and maybe even an improvement. I wrote all of this to see if anyone here had any advice on what I should do because I'm the closest I am to being out of options. Any words would be a great help.

Episode continuity

I'm currently watching "Little horrors of shop" from season 4 and it got me thinking which plots would have made for good multiple episode arcs. The Peggy back injury plot arc is what gave me the idea. I think alot of episodes could be candidates. Which episodes do you guys think would make good arcs?

Sister just found out about fleet week

My sister just found out about fleet week and is insistent and adamant that this is the first time it's ever happened. I kept trying to tell her that it's been happening forever but she's very stubborn. It makes her look stupid but she loves being right so what are you gonna do?:

Why do I keep doing this?

(35M) Everytime I text my friends they always take a few days to respond and then when they do I immediately respond and the cycle repeats itself. Sometimes I get a little anxious waiting for them to respond but then I realize they have their own lives and have things to do but a part of me wishes I had friends or loved ones who wanted to talk to me more often and I didn't have to beg them to call or text. Also almost always I'm the one who initiates the conversation. Has anyone dealt with this? Am I off base feeling this way?

The most realistic thing about the show

I think an aspect of the show that doesn't get talked about enough is how the belcher kids are average academically. Don't get me wrong they all are creative in different ways and have tons of potential but they don't make them seem like super geniuses or that they struggle immensely with schoolwork. Them actually getting decent grades while also working hard is a very relatable thing for me as someone who has younger relatives whose parents put a lot of pressure on them to do well in school. Which is why I love how bob and Linda parent them and support them with their school assignments and projects. I thought of it a lot when I was watching "can't buy me math" recently. Mixed friend groups

Does anyone else seek out same gendered friends for specific stuff? I've been boxing for a while and I took a break for a little and now I am deciding to re-enter the ring(so to speak) and I was going to bring it up to a female friend of mine and then I decided against it because 1) she probably isn't interested and wouldn't care and 2) I don't think she would understand the uniquely masculine drive to finish what I started and get back in the saddle the way I wouldn't understand something that is uniquely feminine. Am I off base with all of this? Should all topics be on the table for mixed friend groups or are there exceptions that only same gendered friends can relate to?

Family member almost ruined the show for me

I've been watching the show from the beginning and then I started realizing that Carrie was exactly like one of my relatives and it really started to sour me on the show. The way she berates Doug and is rude and mean to everyone else started to really turn me off from the show. What kept me watching is that I started to focus on the other characters and how funny they are and I thought about Carrie less. Now I'm pretty much indifferent towards her character. Has anyone had a similar experience with characters on the show?

Any season 2 fans out there?

I've been watching season 2 and it's quickly become my favorite season. The show really felt grounded and the last season before the show became more out there with its plots. Most episodes I could easily be recreated in live action. What does everyone think of season 2? please comment your favorite season 2 moments below.

What are some of your favorite "this can only happen in Madden" moments?

I was playing Madden 24 and I actually used quarters coverage on the goal line and one of the 3 down linemen actually forced a fumble lol. This got me thinking what are some of you guys favorite unrealistic football moments from playing the game over the years. I don't mean bugs or glitches I mean stuff like defensive lineman chasing down a wide receiver for 30 yards or a kicker making an 80 yard kick. Sound off in the comments

Does "Mom, lies and videotape" count as an anthology episode?

I'm currently rewatching "Mom, lies and videotape"(S07E20) and it got me thinking since this is technically a "the kids tell stories" episode would it count as one of the shows anthology episodes? Personally I'm not sure bc the stories are framed as retellings of school plays I wonder if this is an exception like the broken bed episode with the kids retelling the movie they watched. What does everyone else think? Does this episode count? If not why?

Arrogant ignorant relative

I have a relative that's probably the most arrogant person I know, all they do is lecture people and tell them what to do. On top of that they are also the most ignorant person I know both in basic lack of knowledge and bigotry. They didn't even know who the president was until last year.they don't like authority so at their job they are constantly butting heads with management. I'm just waiting for the day they meet the wrong person and someone finally lays into them.

Double agent

How do you guys deal with guys that you meet or know that constantly take the woman's side on an issue or constantly criticize men? I just saw a vid with this guy bashing this other guy for talking about the male loneliness epidemic and he was repeatedly calling him weak. What do you guys think of these types of men?

Family has broken my spirit

An accumulation of incidents over the past few years and currently living with an extremely controlling relative have basically made me completely give up on life and my spirit is broken. I'm just on autopilot now and going through the motions and apathy has set in. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice would be a great help

Older sibling treats me like I'm stupid

For the last few years my older sister who is only 3 years older than me treats me like I'm stupid or an idiot. Not like in a joking sibling way she legitimately acts like I'm mentally disabled. We were just filling out paperwork and I had to sign my name and she said I should practice writing. I graduated from college with a English degree and literally have been a writer since high school. This is just the tip of the ice berg she constantly says condescending and patronizing things to me all the time. I moved in with her a year ago and this is how she treats me and I heard her talk about me on the phone and she talks like I'm a special needs child. I've never had any developmental issues and I was at the top of my class all through school. It's incredibly hurtful and disrespectful and have talked to her about it and she denies it and says " I'm making myself feel bad". If anyone here has any advice or help I would greatly appreciate it

What's a life lesson you learned from the show?

I've been thinking about the show a lot especially a lot of the themes and messages that have been more present in the later seasons. This got me thinking what are some of the life lessons you guys learned from the show? A big one I learned was the power of self expression which is seen so brightly in Gene and especially Tina. What about you guys? I'd love to know what everyone else thinks.

No contact

After all the years of abuse and crap in general I've decided to go no contact from my family. I wanted to know how realistic it is to move to a place where there's no women bc throughout the course of my life the people who have caused me the most stress and harm have been women. No one listens to me because women are the abusers. This is also completely non romantic because the last time I talked about having bad encounters with women people kept commenting that I was trying to pursue them romantically which was absolutely not the case. I have just reached a stage of female fatigue and I'm mentally drained and exhausted. Any suggestions or advice would be a great help.

Cotton's usage

I think a great example of the original show's creative discretion and economy of characters is how they used cotton. His appearances were never too much and he never felt overused or repetitive. I see so many shows do that with popular characters and it leads to audience fatigue. I want to know what everyone else thinks. Do you agree or disagree?

What makes a comfort show a comfort show?

I know the obvious answer; it brings the viewer comfort but I wanted to know what does that mean for you guys. I have a couple comfort shows but for me they just relax me and make me feel at ease. There's a show out there that's a comfort show for some that I find a bit jarring to watch when I want to unwind which is what led me to make this post. I love to know what makes a show a comfort show for you guys and you can comment all your comfort shows below.

Podcasts on the FAN

I usually complain on here lol but this is a genuine sincere post. Just looked on the schedule on the wfan website and for Sunday there's two podcasts on the schedule for Sunday in the early morning, a mark schlereth football show and talking yanks from the Jomboy guys. I wonder if they are soft launching a shift to more of these shows as a way to get in younger listeners? Don't think it'll supplant the regular weekday line up but let's see. What do you guys think?
