Now I understand why people were so angry at the "remakes." The Classic Lighting is so fucking good in SA!

I've yet to try GTA III and Vice City. These games are timeless.

Is anyone feeling fatalistic about console gaming after Sony has decided to kill physical games?

Back in 2021, half a year after the release, I bought this TLOU P2 Steelbook with game discs and a compact artbook for $22 (converted from INR), and I only had to pay $7 becasue I sold my launch copy of TLOU P2 for $15.

The death of physical games is not just about the few pesky collectors. If you're exclusively buying PS5 games digitally, you're overpaying Sony massively. Just go to Amazon or any other online retailer and compare the pricing of PlayStation Exclusives or other physical games to the PS Store's. Physical games are almost always $20 cheaper because retailers have to recoup the money on the units they bought from Sony, so they give up their profits on the remaining units and then some, and put them on sale. Sony wants to price the games on their own terms. And there's the whole resale market!

This fucking sucks for everyone!

Why did no one told be about Symfonium before I bought PowerAmp?

PowerAmp is a "dumb" local music player. I don't understand why it doesn't have any features like smart playlists and automatic queues. When you randomize all songs, Poweramp doesn't even create a temporary playlist so that you can see the queue and make some changes if you want to.

I discovered Symfonium while looking for a way to sync my local Navidrome server with my phone. It's just what I needed months ago when I started building local music Library and everyone sung praises of Poweramp, "the best local music player."

Playing Bioshock for the first time. I hope I enjoy this deeply loved game.

I haven't seen anyone talk about this regarding Mel.

Yes, Owen cheating on Mel was a scummy thing to do. There is no two ways about it. But no one is innocent in this game. When Owen stops Manny from executing incapacitated Ellie and Tommy, Mel, very calmly, as a matter of fact, says to Owen, referring to Manny, "He's right. We can't have loose ends." She wanted Ellie and Tommy to be killed. I think this is one of the reasons Mel is so horrified by Joel's death. This choice she made there showed her who she really is. She would be okay with killing innocent people to "tie up loose ends."

When Mel says to Abby, "You are a piece of shit, Abby. Always have been." She is, on some level, projecting herself onto Abby. As if putting all the blame for her inner conflict on Abby would relieve her of it. Very few pieces of fiction pull off subtlety like this. Jimmy does a similar thing to Howard in Better Call Saul. This also perfectly encapsulates Neil's storytelling philosophy. He likes to put characters in pressure situations, and the choices they make then reveal their core truth. Who they actually are.

Man, the character writing in this game, and most Naughty Dog games, is a class apart from anything in the gaming industry. No game studio goes this subtle and layered with their characters. The only game I could think of that does stuff like this is RDR 2.

I cannot get over the fact that Neil Druckmann still follows the genocide perpetrator IDF on Instagram.

This fucking hurts. There was a time when I found Neil inspirational. I've to deal with conflictive dissonance every time I think about TLOU now.

Inside Gaming reports, There Are ‘No Plans’ To Ever Print GTA 6 Discs. DAMN YOU R*!

This was genuinely so beautiful and poignant. I wasn't expecting such meaningful poetry performed with such weight from this disheveled fella.

Back in Feb 26, in a Variety interview, when asked if GTA 6's physical copies will be delayed until 2027, Zelnick responded with, "That's not the plan."

More confirmation that the physical copies might just release on December. I think the current "physical" code situation is nothing but a prophylactic measure to prevent spoilers.

To be clear, I think Zelnick knows that the interviewer is asking for actual physical copies (they're specifically asking in the context of spoilers, only physical copies can be the reason for that), i.e., discs, and he also is referring to the same, and not the code inside the plastic box "physical" copies.

I think this is a good argument for why Valve doesn't want you to compare Steam Machine to consoles.

I'm annoyed by Zen's memory usage on my 16GB machine and want to switch to a more performant browser, but I just can't get over the sleek UI.

Is there a memory-efficient browser with adblock and minimal UI? I also miss the command bar instead of opening a new tab every time I CTRL+T.

Okay, R*, you will get my money in December!

I'm sorry I doubted you. The premium locked content still sucks, though.

Is anyone here seriously considering skipping the launch and waiting for the actual physical release instead of paying R* twice?

You get games this enormous in scope, size, and hype once a decade. It's a generational experience, and I want to physically own Grand Theft Auto 6, but I won't pay R* twice. If some of us decide to skip the launch, it will be really hard to resist the FOMO of everyone enjoying, having the time of their life, sharing their experience with the community, as this is a culmination of the whole gaming community's expectations, while us trying to shelter ourselves from the spoilers.
