I watched a video of Daryl Hall being interviewed, and he basically said that he and John Oates weren’t really creative partners, and that he was the one doing things like the vocal harmonies, etc. It honestly left me wondering what the hell did John Oates actually do in the band?

I also got the impression that Daryl Hall never really liked John Oates and was kind of implying that he was the one carrying the duo. But then I remembered something Chris Rock once said

>“It’s like Hall and Oates. I don’t know what Oates does, but Hall never had a hit record without him.”
