Pyramiden is a Soviet ghost town located on Svalbard (a Norwegian territory). It was a coal mining settlement which closed in 1998. Today, the town is still inhabited by a few caretakers who maintain the main buildings and the hotel.

Traveled to Japan late 2024, did the usual trip including Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Really have been wanting to go back and experience some deeper cuts. Feel free to pop in the comments any lesser known towns and cities worth visiting

First of all, I’m zero days old in finding out this is a thing that many people have experienced. I had no idea this was a phenomenon so now I’m trying to find out what the fuck happened.
My story is pretty simple. I was between 6-8 yrs old. I lived in this big Victorian home and was afraid to sleep upstairs when my parents were down. We had a spare bedroom on the first floor next to the TV room so I’d sleep there.
One night asleep in that room something suddenly felt off, like there was a person in the room/ that I was being watched.

To me he looked almost green. Very gaunt. Very pointy facial features. Pointy cheekbones, pointy chine. His eyes even kinda felt pointy. He was smiling at me and everything about him felt wrong. He felt dangerous. I tried to scream and couldn’t. I kept screaming and screaming. Finally I stated making enough noise to leave me alone.
I was finally able to get my voice back and he walked back and faded into the darkness. Wtf is that?

Media doesn't feel the same anymore. At least not to me. Even in the last 5 years, I've found it harder and harder to be entertained by any form of media. It's not that I can't be entertained, it's just... harder.
I haven't stuck through a full show by myself in like 2-3 years. I've always been big on gaming, I love story-driven games, but I haven't played one in years because I just can't bring myself to sit through a 20+ hour story. I can't make it more than 20-30 minutes through a movie if I'm not watching it with family.
Youtube in particular is something I used to watch a lot growing up, but most videos can't hold my attention anymore. Music is really the only type of media that I can be entertained with all hours of the day, I collect CDs because of it, but even music is starting to have a hard time keeping me entertained.
Last year, I really started trying to cut technology out of my life where I can. I had planned to quit the internet entirely on January 1st, 2026, but my life got pretty uprooted very quickly just before, and technology was the only thing I had to keep me grounded for a little bit, so I ended up not doing that.
Not trying to make this a personal discussion or anything, I just figured that it's important to lay the tone for what I'm talking about. I feel like it's a bit of a symptom of the current world. Everything is shoved in our faces.
I feel like moderation is/was key. I'm not going to speak for society, but I believe that I (and probably society tbh) have gotten way too used to having constant entertainment. So much so it's causing burnout. I really started noticing this heavy after COVID. I myself spent 8-10 hours a day online during the pandemic, and by the time it was over, it wasn't fun anymore, it was just all I knew.
But yeah, I'm not gonna drag it out, the main question is in the title. Is anyone else dealing with literally all forms of media on a screen feeling boring as fuck? How do we fix the problem if there is one?
