[TOMT][MOVIE OR TV][2000s] I want to find a 2000s movie based on the very first scene/intro.

Hi there, I can remember one movie I had a slight sneak peak before it was shut off. My uncle (mother’s elder brother’s wife’s brother who happens to be our distant relative) once put a movie on tv soon as we entered his hotel room when he had a business trip with his colleague on our city. I was around 15 at the time and this was around late 2010s (like 2017 or 2019 I hardly remember the year) and this was an American movie.

So the movie starts on a suburb with some words that wasn’t clear (it was a very low quality video) where a young woman wearing cropped top with low waist pants/jeans exposing her navel/tummy collecting either a mail/post or a package/milk from outside/post box and she gets inside the suburban style house and she either calls someone via a phone or reads a news paper while sitting on a sofa. The video was kinda greenish-gray/light jade filter including the sofa and the clothes was whitish colour as I remember (and hardly things was black or darker colour). Suddenly my uncle spots me watching the tv (which I did due to boredom while my father was speaking to him) and switches it off with a remote. That’s all I remember. It’s was a very 2000s movie and could be late 90s or early 2010s but most probably 2000s.

Sorry if I couldn’t give much information as these are all I remember.

I watched “30 Nights of Paranormal Activity with the Devil Inside the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2013) and it’s really not that bad. But what do you think?

I just watched this movie recently and I enjoyed it. It was not too funny like Zac Efron and Sacha baron cohen’s movies (like those 2010s badass comedy movie) but it was still decent with few laughs.

Normally when people think of 2000s and early 2010s parody movies, they really have a bad impression and negative criticism towards them (apart from early scary movie franchise) and considering them a “shitty movie”. This includes movies from seltzerberg and others (even including the director of the movie I’m writing about (Craig moss) ).. however some movies are decent (like haunted house series etc..) and this movie is one of them.

I personally love certain humour of this movie aside from vague sex jokes and that nanny/babysitter’s acting such as the bedroom door comically falling down after fidgeting multiple times and pool cleaner’s affair with the nanny.

Any idea about this tuk tuk game from nutlk.com?

Hi there, im happy this subreddit existed since recently, and i have no hope for the r/ srilanka subreddit due to the moderators and their actions (like deleting good posts).

i used to play a game in the 2000s which was downloaded by my uncle on my father's laptop back then (which is no more with us). i used to enjoy this game when i was quite young and i also had memories crashing this tuk tuk. Now i feel very nostalgic about this game and im unable to download this game. Can anyone help me get this game?

Pick one of Tahoe, Yukon and Escalade. What would you choose? You have to be comfortable with your pick for the long term!

Where can I get books of asiff Hussein (paperback or pdf)?

Assalamu Alaikum everyone, I would like to know where I can get books of asiff hussain.

For those of yall who don’t know, asiff hussain is a Muslim author and historian from Sri Lanka who focuses on history, moor culture and many other Sri Lankan related subjects regarding past and lifestyles/culture.

Do you know where can I get it? Let it be free or paid. If I can get free PDFs then it would be very great, if I can buy, then it’s not much of a problem.

Are Omani/khaleeji women allowed to take photos of men without consent?

Hi there everyone! First of all happy Friday and I hope that yall are doing well!

I know there is a huge strict custom in Oman soceity that you cannot do things to Omani women. This means no taking photos, no touching, no hugging, no “excess” communicating and not even looking at them even for ethical reasons (“you have to look down”). There is a huge segregation between men and women in this culture in Oman and all due to “culture” (definitely not Islam, I know Islam). However I have noticed that Arab women in Oman (particularly Omanis) have unethical behaviors doing non consensual things like taking non consensual photos and backstabbing/backbiting and gossiping and looking at men’s body including private parts and the legs/buttocks. I have noticed this since 2015 and I was really upset as they were crossing the line beyond taboo and modesty. This also proves that there is a double standard by women in this country and they are behaving bipolar based on their interests. And yes I’m not a bigot/incel.

The reason why I have made this post is due to an incident that happened to me recently.

I went to the cinemas/movie theater last week with my parents (as a treat from me to them) and that whole day was ruined for me.

First situation was that I was approaching towards VOX cinema from the parking lot in the mall and there were 4 Omani girls (aged 16-23/25, basically gen Z) infront of me (like 3-5 meters forward) and one of the girls was holding her phone and was recording in landscape mode (which is a funny humorous joke to me since I know that all Omanis always records in portrait mode since like 2014 onwards even if it’s an older person and never ever on landscape) on selfie mode and she was secretly recording me while acting like she was doing a vlog/selfie video but targeting towards my direction and my body. I quickly noticed this and ducked/skipped away from her camera direction and she noticed and put her phone down for few seconds but did take a photo/video on a sneaky tilted direction of me over her right shoulder (the previous video I was on her left side, but now she’s taking a footage of me by her right side shoulder creepily). I did tell my parents about this but it was too late to prove and they didn’t believe me. I could’ve confronted them to delete the materials, but I didn’t to avoid verbal harassment and police threats (as if I’m the hooligan/goon and then being “innocent” lambs; plus they speak Arabic and I don’t) and to be less controversial in the Omani news/gossip soceity/forums.

Second situation was in the movie hall. I sat in between middle and forward rows (non VIP seats; normal seats) and we came right on time (the movie delayed by several minutes which was actually frustrating) and later two different Omani girls (similar attire (Omani abaya) and same age group as the other 4 Omani girls from before) sat right infront of me (one person on the exact front seat of mine (front row and exact same column) and the other person on the adjacent left side seat). While finishing 1/4th of the movie, the girl on the adjacent seat started taking a Snapchat selfie in the dark (who the f*ck would take selfie in the pitch dark and when watching movie in the theater?) and her phone was tilted towards my side/direction, I quickly noticed and covered my face with my hand. And again she tried again and I pushed myself towards the right towards the blind spot. Then 5-10 minutes later, the girl infront of me tried to do the same thing like the other girl and I still blocked my face with my hand. Each of them were doing over and over again constantly in turns (one by one) without shame and decency. And one time I decided to slide down (like reclining) and I counted for more than 15-20 seconds and when I got up, she quickly clicked/snapped and put the phone down after waiting all these seconds. Each of them did 4-5 times (altogether 8-10 times during the whole movie) and this ruined the whole experience for me. Let me tell you one thing, the movie was perfect! (In terms of story, plot, character selection, props, videography, cinematography and everything even the songs) but they ruined everything for me that day. They quickly left soon as the credits part started. I didn’t complain to the management about this yet to avoid intensive procedure as we also had to go somewhere that day.

I have all the details about the movie and venue. I could’ve taken videos and photos as evidences but I did not to avoid any unfair consequences and misunderstandings. I really have a bad impression about local women for quite some time and this is not very shocking for me, but still what they have done to me is haram and also beyond their modesty and culture and they further proved that they are absolute hypocrites. Just imagine if those girls could do such thing, how about others (even ones at different situation and the ones behind me at the cinema).

For the viewers out there, I do apologize about bringing this mess into Reddit and I have no one to talk about this. Feel free to reply and share your opinion.

Hi there, i would like to know from millennials and xennials (but other generations are welcome). I would like to know some 2000s movies from 2004/2005 to as further as 2013 or 2015 which gives the "late 2000s vibe" or as the internet/Instagram says "screams" late 2000s or simply defines the era when the movie is made. It could be nostalgic and could be any genre of movies but from those era.

It could be special to you, it could bring back to those of your high school days and it could bring back to your good days and to your childhood/school days. maybe the movie would remind you of your car, your moms/dads car, that tshirt/top you wore back then, that footwear/bag/backpack you had back then, also that phone/tv/computer/laptop/ mp3 player you had, also that cloth you had you saw that the characters also wearing, or that house you once lived/visited or anything that reminds you back then despite the economic situation and political situation. Also it could be a time machine that take you to those days.

i personally can suggest the Disaster Movie (2008) since it gives the late 2000s vibe for me as a non american despite mixed reviews by the critics and audience. i also can suggest the Blended (2014) since the cinematography feels like a 2000s American movie than a 2010s movie.

Hi there. can yall help me find an old MBC advertisement that used to go on TV in 2010s?

I remember seeing an advertisement where a man gets inside a Taxi (which was a white kia carnival minivan) and the driver was a lady and she was wearing a uniform. she keeps on giving money and gifts to that man endlessly while having a good chat and at the end she deserts/abandon him by dropping him in the middle of nowhere where there was an old man who probably met a similar fate as him (as like a victim) and he was a bit fedup with the new guy. so can anyone help me find it?

also can you help me find the spongebob promo for mbc 3 (where fishes in supermarket are singing)?

Hi there, i heard a song in the radio many times and it was during summer (around may to september) in 2015 and it was sung only by a male artist who sounded similar to Bastille and it was not a very fast song like hip hop or metal rock, it was kinda like pop music and it was not very low pitch/deep voice. so the singer says "...for the last time, last time" or "... for the next time, next time" at the end of the chorus and thats all i remember.

u/supirimalli86 — 21 days ago

Hi there, i hardly have anyone i know that are very expertise in automobiles or know anything about cars and i myself am not a car person and i decided to ask in this subreddit about particular vehicles.

I have noticed that both the nissan patrol (y63) and toyota land cruiser (j300) have 2 engine options (eventhough i originally thought that they only had one engine and thats a 3.5 litre twin turbo back in 2024) and they are different based on engine capacity and engine aspirations.

so for the Nissan Patrol, the choices are in-between 3.5 L VR35DDTT twin-turbo V6 and the much larger 3.8 L VQ38DD V6 naturally aspirated

And for the Land Cruiser, the choices are in-between 3.4 L V35A-FTS twin-turbo V6 and the much larger 4.0 L 1GR-FE Dual VVT-i V6

I have heard that engines with turbos are considered bad and unreliable due to delayed airflow and other factors. so I'm really confused

so i want to know what is the better engine option for each car? which is best when it comes to performance, driving, reliability and resale value on oman market and gcc market (and internationally if possible)? and what are some deal breakers and disadvantages of the new land cruiser and patrol (such as faults, defects, technical issues, public perspective/opinion, stereotypes, memes and whatever attached to them)? also should i but the land cruiser or the nissan patrol?

and what are your thoughts on the ford everest (is it a good buy)?

thanks
