Reworking a character from earlier this year. Horse detective, how’s it looking?

1st is his new design so far, 2nd are the silhouettes. 3rd is is his old design.

The character is supposed to be a noir-style detective for imaginary friends- hence why he’s a unicorn. He’ll be seen mostly in quarter view like most cartoons. I intend to use him for my first attempt at rigging in the animation program I use, so I tried to keep a solid separation between his limbs and body.

I’m mostly concerned with his front profile. The face feels a bit cluttered? I’m not sure. I added an intention tangent line combining his ears, horn, and hat to keep the silhouette simpler and I’m not sure how that’s coming over either.

I am considering recoloring him, too. I’d like to keep him pink like his original design but maybe a different shade? I’m not certain.

Edit: He’s a unicorn not a horse, I don’t know why I called him a horse.

Is this play behavior or should I have stopped them quicker?

Dog’s name is Cujo, he’s about 3 years old, and the cat’s name is Lottie, she’s 14 weeks. We’ve had Lottie around Cujo for around 8 weeks or so now but I’ve been reprimanding him (really just telling him to stop and calming him down) every time he’s tried to interact like this with Lottie. I decided to let it go on a bit longer this time just to see how he acts but I’m not sure if he’s playing, and if he is whether or not he’s doing so in a safe way.

Now he does bark and growl like this when he plays with me, but he also play bites/lunges (gets my hand in his mouth but doesn’t bite down) and I know that would be dangerous for him to do with a kitten- then again, he only does this when he plays with me and not when he plays with other people/animals.

Edit: I know he looks like one, but Cujo is not a terrier. I probably should’ve said so in my original post- he’s a mix between a German short haired pointer and a Maltese.

Is there a way to do this in Harmony?

Basically what appears to be happening is there’s the sketch of the body on the main layer, then almost like a composition within a composition in AE there’s the sketch of the lip sync/head moving with the body.

So my question is- is it possible to move one layer as a whole within another layer in the same way After Effects allows you to move one composition within another? I know this person probably wasn’t using Harmony for this animation, but I wanted to know if it was possible to do so within it.

Magic drawing pad has really bad palm rejection, any advice?

I got an XP pen magic drawing pad for Christmas (the standalone tablet) and initially really liked it, but as a left hander I quickly realized the tablet has awful palm rejection.

Even with two, three layers of drawing gloves it STILL picks up on the side of my hand when I’m drawing. It’s so annoying! I hardly even use it because it constantly draws on my canvas when I don’t want it to. Are there any magically perfect drawing gloves or some kind of setting I can adjust that might fix this issue? It makes it impossible to draw on the tablet.

It looks silly on purpose! My final for my figure drawing class was to redraw a classical piece of artwork and replace the head and hands with our own. Immediately I knew what I had to do. I hope my professor finds these awful adult baby hybrid angels as funny as I do.

Ironically, this is the best I’ve done with a self portrait as far as making it look like me.

The only reason I think maybe it may not be is because I did apply to like a billion random jobs a few months back while job searching, I wouldn’t recognize any of the companies if they emailed me now. Does this look like a scam?

The character is going to be a cat which is why her legs look like that. I was mostly trying to focus on smooth movement with good timing. How does it look so far?

I know the camera movement is a little sudden, this is only my second time using the camera so I’m still getting used to it. I’m gonna try to make it better before turning it in.

Edit: I probably should’ve said this but the cat is anthro, that’s why she’s humanoid. Not a four legged cat. I don’t know why I assumed people would guess that haha

There’s music but it really doesn’t matter for the visuals, so no need to put your audio on. This was my final for my motion graphics class, it was basically to follow a very strict set of guidelines to make a very corporate-type advertisement for a fake website. It was my first time using a rigged character so the rig definitely isn’t the best, but overall I think it turned out okay.
