Pattaya vs Angeles City (Pampanga)

I am going to be an honest critic here. Let me drop my credentials first. I have been a Pattaya-goer for almost a decade and I absolutely love it! As a result, I have witnessed a lot of changes over the years. No doubt some parts have improved a lot. You will see a lot of roadworks and construction going on frequently. But there are things that have worsened, THE PRICES!

I remember bar fines and price of lady drinks used to be a lot lower. You would see a lot of young, energetic and pretty girls outside the massage shops. Prices for freelancers used to be so much lower and of better service quality. Now, you will only see older or obese girls working at these joints asking for outrageous prices, as high as 3,000–5,000 THB sometimes.

If there are attractive girls, they are usually reserved for certain demographics, as they are perceived to be high spenders in the area.

Angeles, on the other hand, is less developed when it comes to infrastructure. It is generally considered a smaller playground, however, I sincerely believe it has potential. I have been there a couple of times in recent years and absolutely love it.

Drink prices are a lot cheaper. Sure, there is not much of a party scene going on, but hey, there are nice hotels, and you can also take all the action indoors. Bar girls there are attractive and provide services at a much lower cost.

Overall, with recent prices, Pattaya is slowly transforming into a middle-class holiday destination, while Angeles serves the budget crowd. It depends on what you prefer, personally I go to Pattaya for the bar scene, and Angeles for the cost effectiveness, just my two cents here.

Of course...right!

"We are wrapping up the internal project scope for this role this week. We will briefly pause interviews until we have full clarity on the next steps."

Exactly like my Ex :(

Should there be laws against people who display sexism or hatred towards their own gender?

I have always wondered how some men can get away with misandry or women can get away with misogyny. People be like: "Oh well, it's like the N-word, you can't be racist or sexist against your own kind, can you?"

I personally think sexism is sexism, regardless of your gender and who you are directing it towards. What do you all think?

Sorry, but what is the point of having a king bed...

When there is humongous gap in the middle as soon as your guest sleeps on it. I understand it's economical that way, so you don't have to order seperate beds for twin room and double, but come on! How can people possible sleep like this? Disappointed :(

Is prostitution legal and regulated in Hong Kong?

Just curious how it works, you get a ton of girls on dating apps these days, asking if you want their services in exchange for money. If you go to Lockhart road at night, you'll see domestic helpers who are freelancers offering their services at bars. Then, there are buildings with escorts I believe. How does it work really, is it even legal, do they all pay taxes? How does the government keep track of it?

For research purposes only!

Why do we keep getting flashbacks...

I remember being wrongly accused and kicked out of a bar once. It happened five years ago, I just walked away at that time and didn't say much. I never went back, but recently, it keeps popping into my head. I am trying to wonder why. Why do we keep getting flashbacks, is there any underlying reason, and how do we stop thinking about them? Thanks!

How I ended the endless cycle of ragebaiting...

In this life, you will go through an endless cycle of rage-baiting. Maybe someone who didn't do their job properly lost your parcel, so you have to complain and track where it went. Rage-baited! You lose your wallet, go back to find it, and call people who might know where it is. Rage-baited! Maybe due to a machine failure, an ATM withdraws 100 dollars less, so you contact the bank and follow up with them. Rage-baited! Maybe someone doesn't give you a product or service as advertised, so you chase them for a refund! Rage-baited! Over time, you notice you're chasing a lot of people and wasting a lot of energy, getting rage-baited by the universe over and over again. For what? Material things! I have now stopped chasing any sort of refund or material loss in life. Bad things happen, I just say OK and move on. My mental health has drastically improved!

Non-Chinese people looking to visit mainland China...

I believe in being the messenger and passing on valuable information. So guys, listen up, if you are a non-Chinese person who only holds a HKID and a BNO passport, you can't really apply for a China visa, as BNO is no longer recognized in mainland China.

But wait! you CAN. You just need to apply for a document called a Document of Identity (DI) issued by the HKSAR government. It is usually issued within 5 days at a cost of around HK$325. Once you have the document, you can now legally apply for a mainland visa without giving up your BNO passport. Good luck!

Does anyone just want to be alone?

Honestly, my ideal life would be work that doesn't have coworkers or a boss, pays me enough for my necessities, probably on an isolated island where I don't have to deal with people. No relationships, no kids, no girlfriend, probably see some escorts a few days a week. Basically, just me alone. Sounds like heaven! Anyone?

A little backstory, it's been almost 30 years and never have I met a single person where I thought, "I need to keep them by my side forever" and I am sure the feeling is mutual on their end too. I did enjoy the energy they brought for the time being, but that is about it.

On the contrary, most people I have met in my life have just brought a lot of drama, chaos, and toxicity. After a certain point, maybe about a decade ago, I just thought to myself, "I am done forever!"

Surprisingly, my life has never been better ever since, which makes me wonder if someone can relate to this :)

Flying Economy these days is like going through hell...

Honestly, I would rather stay home than fly economy or budget airlines these days. You head to the airport, and the check-in counter staff check your bags like hawks targeting prey. Each dimension and gram counts (some budget airlines now even combine weight for carry-on and personal item). They try their best to charge you extra. If you forget to do one step, it is extra cash for them. Then, there is the long check-in queue, despite checking in online, you still need to queue for document verification most of the time. Finally, if you manage to get on the plane, your fellow travellers match the standards of your airline: selfish, entitled, rude, and obnoxious.

There is always this jerk who thinks it is his house. He takes off his shoes, exposing smelly feet, and reclines his seat all the way into your lap. Then, there is this curious kid who kicks your chair every few seconds. But, if you talk to his father, you are the one who should be considerate. Got an aisle seat? Cool, but some row mates think it is their god-given right to stand up and go for an evening walk in the aisle every minute. And you, who are having food, have to pick up your tray and let them through. Then, you have got the party boys and girls who like to turn up their music for the whole plane, assuming everyone has the same taste in music. What seems like basic manners and consideration just seems hard to find. Overall, nope, it is better to stay home than travel with people like these.

I swear man ladyboys here...

Are on a whole new level. I find Thai ladyboys to be very very honest. They'll tell you they are ladyboy before they even chat with you. But, in the Philippines, some of them will lie to your face. I was on Tinder the other day, met a hottie, I said would you like to come over to my place. They said yeah! So I said ok. I SPECIFICALLY asked if she was lady or ladyboy. She said she is LADY. Anyway, they said they will come after an hour. I said ok. I waited, she messaged me back and forth. I said ok, she must be playing hard to get whatever! When they finally came, I saw his Adam's apple. It was this moment I knew...

Second time, same story. This time I even paid Grab for them. They still lie to my face, they are lady. The audacity of asking me to pay for their Grab back after lying is just...

Come on man, no hate to you guys, but be honest please. If someone likes ladies, let them be. Thank you!

AITAH for returning her card?

So a girl at a bar whom I shared table with (it was crowded and I asked if I could join her. She said sure no problem!)

She told me about her tattoo shop and gave me her card. Then, she asked me to buy a beer tower. I said I was about to leave, so I wouldn't be buying it. She replied, "Then leave now!" I said, "Well, okay," and I moved to the next table (it was empty by then). Afterward, I went back and put her business card right back on the table in front of her. Did I do the right thing?

Thoughts on Olongapo...

Having visited places like Manila and Angeles, I thought I would like Olongapo as well, as it's very close to Angeles.

But I must say, the people there are not really that fond of tourists and are more closed off. Everything seems to be much pricier there, which kind of matches the attitude of the locals :D

However, it has way less development in terms of transportation and local infrastructure. The lack of sidewalks and a proper taxi system (no Grab) just isn't doing it for me. I was the only tourist there, along with two other old white guys. So, I got my stares, but I can assure you they weren't friendly ones. I left on the second day and went back to Angeles, a much better experience in general :)

Has Pattaya just found the perfect sweet spot...?

Idk man, every time I go to Pattaya, it seems everyone is so happy and satisfied. Old men are happy, old women are happy. Young guys are happy, young girls are happy. The good-looking, the ugly, the jacked, the fat, the rich, the broke... only happy faces. No more loneliness, the food gets delivered on time. Nice beaches (obviously, I am talking about the ones on Koh Larn Island haha), cheap food, nice mall, what else could you possibly ask for?

Extremely far away from toxicity, gender disputes and class disparity. There is always something for everyone. My kind of place ;)

How do creators even afford AI slops?

Seriously! I have seen AI platforms where they require hundreds of credits just to generate a short unfinished clip. How on earth do these people even afford to generate these AI slops all day? Especially if you're just starting.
