Do people come back after an emotionally loaded breakup they ended in anger?

What are the chances of an insecure individual ending a relationship in anger, continuing contact but with conflict, then pure silence for 3 months, ever reaching back out again?

Advice on correct spell/ritual?

Hi all, I need advice on the best ritual for my situation.

For reference, I have done a cord cutting ritual with this individual in the past. We did reunite months after the cord cutting.

However, the relationship between me and this individual (me, a Gemini and him an Aquarius) has recently came to an end and it was a pretty nasty ending. (Just over a month ago)

He left a day after we returned from being on holiday, falsely accusing me of cheating (he was always jealous & paranoid) this is so far from the truth.

There was contact on both parts after the breakup, but it just ended in conflict. Eventually, I had to block.

Now that there’s silence, it’s really affecting me.

I did attempt a cord cutting last night but the string did not ignite after 2-3 hours and both flames were pretty equal.

Having had thoughts, I’m not sure I want to cut the cord, but rather perform a ritual (if one exists), to allow him to see the truth, to regret his horrible actions, and force him to sit with the consequences. The idea of him going on with his life when he turned mine upside down feels so unfair.

Can anyone recommend anything that would make him see the truth; regret; miss me etc?

I do not necessarily want him ‘back’ but I suppose I want the peace of knowing he wants me back desperately but I can choose to reject him.

Thanks all

Issue with employer UK

Hi all,

I have posted previously so this may sound familiar but I just want to give an updated polished version.

I work from home as a customer service advisor in the UK under a BYOD agreement.

My employer has been in touch with me over the past week advising that I need to set up the company as a separate profile and install the company portal and Authenticator app on my personal device for work.

The instructions say:

Employer's Homeworking Instructions (Anonymised)
Estimated time: 15–30 minutes (heavily dependent on the computer's hardware specifications).
If you run into any technical issues with this process, please call IT Support during core business hours (Monday–Friday).
Agent Homeworker Changes
Please make sure to only access company resources from Microsoft Edge. We will not be able to assist if using any other browser.
Device Enrolment / Microsoft Authenticator App Enrolment
Please make sure to have Windows Defender as the only antivirus running on the machine (remove any other antivirus installed).
Step 1 – Creating a Work profile on your device
To begin, you will need to create a new user profile on your device to keep your work and personal files separate.
Search for "Other Users" in Windows Settings.
Select "Add account."
Choose:
"I don't have this person's sign-in information."
"Add a user without a Microsoft account."
Create a new local user account called "Work", give it a secure password, and set up the security questions.
Once the account has been created, make the account an Administrator.
The guide states:
"We will now need to make the account an administrator to install Company Portal. (Please note we will remove the administrator permissions later in the guide once the install is complete)."
Sign out of your normal Windows account and sign into the new Work profile.

Step 2 – Setting up Company Portal
Download the Microsoft Authenticator app.
Download and install Microsoft Company Portal onto your PC.
Sign in using your work email address and password.
If this is your first time signing in:
Enrol into Microsoft Authenticator.
Complete multi-factor authentication.
Change your password.
Consent to allow device management by selecting:
"Yes, all apps."
The guide states:
"Once enrolled and policies have been applied to read device health you will see your device registered within Company Portal. It will also give you a view on if you meet the device health check or not. If your device does not meet the device health requirements you will be unable to access company resources from your device."
If the device is non-compliant, Company Portal will show the reason and the steps required for remediation.

Step 3 – Changing the Work account back to Standard User
Sign out of the Work profile and sign back into your personal Windows account.
Return to Other Users.
Select the Work account.
Choose Change account type.
Change the account from Administrator to Standard User.
Sign back into the Work account and begin working.

I already HAVE the company portal set up. But what they have said is that the instructions I was given 2 years ago wasn’t correct and they admitted they and my device have not been compliant. I recorded the conversation for my own notes.

They advised today that IT close as 5pm (this meeting was at 16:50) and said look we don’t want to put pressure on you but if you don’t do this before 5pm, we will revoke your access, and you won’t be paid if you don’t work.

I advised I would seek advice on this matter.

I’m left completely baffled and not sure what route to go down now.

I suffer severe mental health and this whole thing has made me ill.

They admitted they didn’t give me the correct instructions 2 years ago, how can you come to me now, force me to do it urgently without allowing me time to evaluate, and even at that, if it’s not compliant, why refuse me pay due to your error?

Please give me advice. UK preferably

Request from my employer

Hi all, can I get some advice please?

EDIT:

I work from home for a customer service company in the UK and I have to use my own personal laptop for work (they do not provide a company laptop) I’m on a BYOD arrangement.

On Monday, I got a teams message at 5pm advising they were selecting random team members for a cybersecurity audit and we had to follow the below instructions ‘today’ and that it was mandatory. It also came in an email.

They were asking us to set up the company as a temporary administrator and then download an app called Qualys to scan for vulnerabilities.

After all the advice I got on here, I confirmed with the company it was genuine, even from the head of IT. Even when they were confirming that it was genuine and that admin rights are removed at a later stage, they were still like yeah it’s mandatory can you do it now?

The pressure was making me uncomfortable so basically I got another message from my manager saying I no longer need to do the audit as it was done yesterday and they selected someone else. Fine. But they insist that I need to still set them up a profile on my account and that it’s mandatory for all homeworkers. I’ve been there 2 years and at no point was this ever communicated nor does it say it in the policy or contract.

She then sends over this policy which I’ll paste below, the odd thing is, they’re asking me to temporarily assign admin rights to download the company portal etc, but I already have that and it says my device is compliant? I am sooooo confused anywhere here’s the instructions. I really need to know what to do about this and what to say as they want to call about it today.

Like I say, I already have the company portal and Authenticator app which is not exclusive to this company anyone can download it. So why do I need to set them up on another profile as admin to do this stuff I already have and then remove admin?

Like I say, I already have the company portal and Authenticator app which is not exclusive to this company anyone can download it. So why do I need to set them up on another profile as admin to do this stuff I already have and then remove admin?

REQUEST FROM MY EMPLOYER (2)

Hi guys,

(UK)

I posted in here not long ago ‘Request from my employer’ and since posting, I have been advised by my manager I no longer need to take part in the cyber security audit as it’s already been done but that I do need to set up a company profile on my personal laptop and Sent me the below instructions.

Apparently this is something thats mandatory and been communicated with homeworkers. That’s not correct as my home working instructions differ from the one below. What’s your thoughts on this request on making them a profile? Here’s what they are asking:

PLEASE NOTE, I already HAVE the company portal installed so why do I need to temporarily make them an admin to complete this? Anyway here it is below…

[UK] Request from my employer

Hi all, can I get some advice please?

I work from home for a customer service company and I have to use my own personal laptop for work (they do not provide a company laptop)

On Monday, I got a teams message at 5pm advising they were selecting random team members for a cybersecurity audit and we had to follow the below instructions URGENTLY and that it was mandatory.

They were asking us to set up the company as a temporary administrator and then download an app called Qualys to scan for vulnerabilities.

I’m really confused and would like to know from anyone more technical than myself about whether I should be concerned, refuse or simply do what I’ve been asked?

Why only a small selection of people (10 out of the whole company)

Why do they need to be an administrator?

What can Qualys access or what can the company access?

Can I refuse as this is my personal laptop?

Does it sound dodgy?

Ex turned up at my door after our breakup. The next morning I found my car badly scratched. I’m exhausted and don’t know what to think anymore.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice because my head is all over the place and I feel like I’ve lost all perspective.
This is a very long and complicated story, so I’m going to try and keep it as brief as possible.
Around a year ago I started seeing a guy. Early on we had a difficult holiday together because I was struggling with insecurities, and I reacted emotionally in ways I’m not proud of. After that holiday, things became messy. He and our mutual friendship group became distant towards me, although he still kept the door open and continued contacting me.
Things were very hot and cold for a while. Eventually I blocked him. During that time I briefly dated someone else, which he later found out about. That relationship didn’t work out, and eventually I unblocked him. We got back in touch, ended up in a proper relationship, went on another holiday together, and before I knew it he had moved into my flat.
We built a life together. We even got a kitten a couple of months ago.
There were definitely ups and downs throughout the relationship. I struggled with insecurity and anxiety, but one thing I always felt was that I never really felt emotionally safe. I constantly felt like I wasn’t good enough and that I had to prove myself.
A few weeks ago we came back from another holiday. Shortly afterwards he ended the relationship by text message, moved out, took our kitten with him and told me I would never see her again.
He also accused me of cheating, which I have always denied. He had access to my location, knew where I was most of the time, and generally knew everything I was doing, so these accusations completely blindsided me.
Since the breakup I’ve tried to reconcile a couple of times, and so has he, but every conversation has ended in conflict. Eventually I blocked him because I realised it wasn’t helping either of us.
On Friday night I was at home when there was a knock at my door. It was him. I didn’t answer. He stayed for a while trying to make contact before eventually leaving.
About ten minutes later, a mutual friend (who is also connected to his family) phoned me. I didn’t answer because I assumed it was about him.
The next morning I went to my car and found deep scratches running down both sides.
I can’t prove who did it, but given that he had been outside my home the night before, I strongly suspect it was him. I appreciate that’s a suspicion rather than proof, but the timing has left me extremely shaken.
Since then I’ve blocked everyone connected with that friendship group because I genuinely just want peace. I don’t want any more arguments, drama or attempts at reconciliation.
The problem is that I’m now constantly anxious. Every noise outside makes me jump. I’m worrying about leaving my car parked outside my own flat. I feel like I’m waiting for the next thing to happen.
I’m also reluctant to involve the police at this stage because I don’t have evidence beyond my suspicion, and I’m worried it would just escalate everything further.
So I guess my questions are:
Does this sound like someone who is likely to keep trying to contact me, or am I catastrophising because I’m hurt and frightened?
Have any of you been through something similar?
If you were me, what practical steps would you take from here?
Is complete no contact and blocking everyone the best thing I can do?
How do I stop living in fear that something else is going to happen?
I’m not looking for people to tell me he’s evil or diagnose him. I think I’m just looking for some perspective because I feel emotionally exhausted and like I’ve completely lost my bearings.
Thank you if you’ve read this far.
