Narcissistic grandma's gonna relinquish her financial responsibilities to my wife, or I move out.

For fucking weeks I've been trying to warn my wife that if she doesn't figure out the situation about how her grandmother is fucking up our finances, there's going to be consequences. Well, here we are with a shutoff notice from our electric company and not only does it make zero fucking sense for us not to have been able to cover all our bills, for months, this entire time, grandmother also told us she only has $100 to put towards the bill.

This is after three thirty day extentions and/or grants towards our power bill we got from a doctor because for a while a person with insulin lived with us and they can't just shut off your power if you push back with a doctor. But that can only be done three times.

Now, how we even got into a situation where we couldn't pay the electric bill is a mystery to me, because I didn't ask, because all I know is grandmother was paying bills she shouldn't be paying. I trusted my wife to reign her in because frankly, grandmother is also a narcissist and I don't have the tact not to tell her about herself. For weeks I have been asking, and telling her there's gonna be hell to pay if the electric goes off.

So now I'm pissed and fed up enough that I'm experiencing this because I trusted people to act like fuckin adults, so here's the deal: If grandmother doesn't give my wife the credentials to the social security money and relinquish her financial responsibilities, I'm moving the fuck out at the end of the week.

Fuckin done with this shit. I'm not leaving my wife, but I'm not gonna enable this fuckin shit either.

Should I suffer through "The Room" before seeing "The Disaster Artist"?

Pretty simple question. I'm the holder of attention span between my wife and I. She won't even "suffer" through the godfather because she can't follow the plot over that long of time (honestly this is probably the single biggest difference between us, which is good because it somehow doesn't bother me).

Still though, is The Disaster Artist independently funny? Or does it need the full context?

edit lmao you guys are great, thanks. I'm learning a lot in a hurry. Sorry to summon the gods of cinema. Also, a lot of emphasis on the word suffering. She just doesn't love long movies, that's all.

Keep comparing Breakpoint and Wildlands, and we'll get what we want.

I'm starting to see multiple articles addressing the general consensus, which at it's core in a nutshell is, "Give wildlands the engine and mechanics of breakpoint and it'd be perfect."

I haven't seen this much of an outpour of journalists acknowledging the discourse among gamers in a positive way in a really long time. This isn't like when bethesda added denuvo to doom eternal. Nothing bad has happened to bring the community together. We just know what we want, and people are listening.

So keep it up, guys. Maybe ubisoft will make a comeback.

Be grateful, and stop while you're ahead.

I see a lot of posts on reddit where people are looking for support because they're not sure if they can get through a day without alcohol after a binge. I know it's ignorant of me, but all I can think is, "You should be so lucky it's only that bad for you".

I used to drink a gallon of 100 proof vodka, daily. I lived in the .3 .4 BAC range. I've had more seizures than I know about, and dragged myself out of heavy detoxes which literally took weeks, countless times throughout my life.

The highest I ever blew was .83 (this isn't up for debate, I've gotten into disagreements about it before. The highest BAC on record is over 1.5 FYI.

I see some of these people and even though I'm sober now, I literally envy them. How naive I was when my hangovers were only that bad. Wait, what am I talking about? I was never hung over - I just kept drinking.

I see everyone, anyone with a problem that isn't as bad as mine was, and I just really hope they quit soon, before they end up the way I was for a while.

Just felt like getting it off my chest but also to say to whoever needs to hear it, like... Think about what you're doing. The only state of mind waiting for you when the consequences catch up to you is sobriety.

Wish you guys the best.

What type of hours am I looking at as a Soc analyst?

Still debating on my career change and sec is a big interest of mine, but never been in the field. What type of hours can I anticipate if I decide to go that route? I'm beholden to a decent amount of family medical stuff, but I understand sec can have brutal hours depending who you work for.

Trying not to meet Hanako at Embers.

Title is a CP2077 reference, IYKYK. My question is:

Can I go through the entire main quest, then turn around and enjoy the rest of the game the way I want to? Or is there a chapter in the main quest I should stop, where everything is accessible but you don't want to progress further because it'll end the game?

Edit [Answered]: You can finish the story, and the game will place you back into the world to do as you please for the rest of the content. I wanted to treat the story like a tutorial, and that's exactly what I can do.

[Discussion] ASMRBunnii's IG indicates she believes A.I. is to blame for the bans.

If you go to her non-ASMR IG, she claims the algorithms and automated A.I. censorship have "made a mistake". It would make sense as to why some of the bans don't make sense. A lot of the earliest reporting on the ban wave also seems to hold this opinion.

I don't know most of the ASMRtists who've been banned but I've been a fan of Bunnii for years, and she does have an OF but her Linktr.ee doesn't even mention it. You have to go out of your way to search her handle in a web browser to find her adult content.

Other than that, the worst she does on IG is some underboob while cosplaying. I think it's safe to say she did everything even more professionally than can be reasonably expected compared to her colleagues.

Hopefully YT has the sense to fix some of this, but I'm not sure they'll even admit they're wrong. Meanwhile, I've never read YT's ToS but I wonder if incidents like this could give rise to something like social media income insurance. Something to buy into to supplement your income should the rug be pulled out from under you.

[PC][circa 2000-2005?] I'm looking for a 6DoF neonpunk metropolis RPG shooter.

It played like Descent, but it wasn't first person. 6DoF means 6 degrees of freedom who don't know. So, the setting was this futuristic city that wasn't exactly cyberpunk, it was cleaner, and covered in neon, and you flew around in different one man ships. I remember it had some RPG elements and, it wasn't exactly for kids but it was definitely mostly non-violent, fun and quirky.

I bought it at like, five below yeeeeears ago and have no idea what happened to it or what it's called, but I've never seen another game quite like it, ever.

Thanks guys.

I'm looking for a very specific 6DoF metropolis RPG shooter.

Someone's gotta know what I'm talking about. It wasn't so old that it was from the era of Descent, more like a 2000's vibe.

It was a game where you flew different ships, all of a one man cockpit size, and you flew around this futuristic city that wasn't quite cyberpunk, more neonpunk. 6DoF means 6 degrees of freedom, so the game played like descent, but had RPG elements. It wasn't quite a kids game but it was quirky, and really fun. I can't for the life of me find it. If anyone has a clue I'd be eternally grateful.

Wife wants to magnet fish.

Is it still called magnet fishing if she hates water so she just wants to walk down roads and through parking lots and stuff? Anyway...

Any links or just, a quick comprehensive where to start? Dangers, things to expect, gloves people use, stuff like that?

Hellraiser: Revival gives me hope for a Spawn game.

I'm hoping the horror/action genre gets a real rejuvenation in the coming years. I could see a Spawn game putting us through some pretty horrific stuff despite us ourselves being a horrific being. It leaves a lot to brainstorm.

People's lack of tech hygiene pisses me off.

I can't be alone in this.

My frustration with wires disorganized to the point of borderline fire hazard is an easy solution. I'd rather fix it for you than look at it or think about it, and people literally let me, and appreciate it.

I understand physical setups and how someone uses the software on a device is comparing apples to oranges. Software use is obviously intimate to it's end user no matter the context, whereas the former is just people wanting shit plugged in right, and for it not to look like artwork by H.R. Geiger. However, as the designated I.T. guy by friends family and colleagues, I get asked to help with both sides of things all the same.

As someone who copes well with ADD I do not understand how the fuck ANYONE can operate a mental stack with 40-1000+ tabs open they don't look at, in their web browser alone. Let alone when people hit their ap button and I see they have literally as many aps open as there are aps on their device. Then they ask me why the fuck everything takes forever or, they expect me not to wince when they scroll through their aps, refusing to close any, resulting in several extra minutes taken to answer a very simple fucking question.

Maybe it's just the people around me but I swear like 85% of the population does this. They can be the CFO of a small to medium sized successful company and I look at their phone and it looks like they smoke crack under their desk all day or some shit. People have gorgeous calenders mapped out in their phones with their schedules labeled and set to alert properly three months ahead of time, but they open their web browser and their OS looks like it's gonna resurrect Steve Jobs for help.

It's like people can have clean houses, nice cars, dress well, but for some reason they don't have any assemblence of what I would call, hygiene, regarding their devices. It's like a bulk of the population doesn't think of the digital world as real or consequential at all whatsoever, or indicative of other aspects of their personality etc. I think it's gross and wildly irritating.

I think what bothers me the most is how no one seems to think it's a problem. When I literally cringe at it, people think it's funny.

It gives me this feeling like if a friend asked me to help them move, and I get to their house and they didn't warn me they're a hoarder. I don't even wanna fucking know this about you, dude. Like, I'll help you but I'm judging the shit out of you and I kinda want you to know it. Why the fuck would you even let me see your phone in such a state?

I know not everyone thinks like this, I just don't care. My phone is always tip top squeaky clean without me even trying. I just don't get it.

Yet another MGS3 Master Collection audio bug thread.

I'm not getting any cutscene audio or codec voices. It's not an audio output issue.

I've tried extracting all 3 nexusmod zip files to my MGS3 folder, I've gotten the xaudio2_9.dll file put into my MGS3 folder with the launch option of

WINEDLLOVERRIDES=“xaudio2_9=n” %command%

Currently running on a Debian distro, on Steam.

Has anyone actually resolved this?

People are willfully ignorant about A.I. but love to complain about it.

Resources are becoming more plentiful to understand the realities. Here's one.

https://themultiverse.school/x/ai-problems-index

There's also some great content creators, podcasts, substacks etc. The genie is out of the bottle and that's all the there is to it. I don't know why people aren't more curious. I'm not telling people what to think, I'm just asking them to think.

When you're on the wrong side of history or feel left behind I don't know how you're gonna blame anyone but yourself.

Obsession left me more rattled than most.

35 M here.

The way the entity would manipulate, especially the scenes where it would break down crying, particularly the "you don't love me as much as I love you" stuff, is actually wildly fucking close to reality if you've ever dealt with a person with severe mental illness and personality disorder in a relationship. I found myself watching the film wondering how I would perceive it differently if I was a mentally unstable incel like Bear, and the thought of it sent chills up my spine. I've had a fair share of girlfriends over the years, and in my younger years most of them had issues such as borderline personality disorder, codependency etc. - and I did my best to alleviate their pain, but sometimes it's literally impossible.

I thought the lead actors did an incredible job. This is the first time a horror movie has ever legitimately triggered me. Like, a Serbian Film traumatized me a little bit for example, but it didn't trigger me. I'm okay, but I'm having a physical, bodily response the more I think about how chillingly real some of the movie's betrayal of the entity's manipulation was.

Really great film.

Want to come back but start as froob.

I really don't feel like spending on a membership again until I have some froob time to get my bearings back and ensure that I am in fact, interested in doing AO again. I'd like to roll a crat. What are the endgame consequences of missing out on pre-TL4 paid content? Anything I'll be locked out of?

Edit

I think you guys might be missing the point of my question a little bit, that's okay.

I'm asking if there are any NODROP items obtained in level locked zones within expansion content. If there aren't, that means froobs can freely catch their toons up to proper endgame gear if they decide to upgrade later, with no need to reroll, even for the most serious twinkers.

Games you compare to RE4?

I'm playing the remake and I've played the original. It's such a good game, with such a healthy balance of it's elements, replayability, no real meta, a fantastic formula.

Then I got to thinking, is RE4 in any subset of genre? I know there's games that cover the different elements of course but, can anyone think of a title that feels really close (but is ofc, not RE)?

Code 118 barebones wallet review.

I thought about a ridge wallet, but I don't need quite that much quality, nor did I feel I wanted to spend 100+ on a wallet. The Code 118 wallet can be found at codewallets.com. It features an aluminum body, space for 7 cards, a release lever and an elastic band. The wallet can be expanded with their ecosystem but it's nothing too extravagant.

I wanted a sleek minimalistic wallet made of metal of some kind that focused on easy organization and access to my cards, and barely a money clip of some sort.

I got a 53% discount on this puppy spending just over $40, and I wouldn't recommend anyone spend more than that one one of these.

Don't get me wrong, it does everything it says it does.

With a moderately violent shake, the cards can slide out but it does require something like a deliberate shake, a drop or some other shock.

The finger mechanism at the bottom triggers a stair stepped rising lever, so the cards slide upward not pop upward, but it feels just sturdy enough to feel safe without straining your hand. The cards are held in by some sort of spring backed pressure plate that's sleek and feels good.

The band around the wallet isn't too tight to where you have to fumble with cash like crazy to get it in there, but I wouldn't trust just the band to hold more cards. Having a wad of cash in the band works, but it can slide around. I wouldn't trust just a couple of bills on the band either.

If you paid full price for this wallet it would be approaching $90. At that point just get a ridge wallet. I'm happy with my purchase at the price point, but I wanted to write a review because according to my FYP's and algorithms this company is either going viral or dumping obscene amounts into advertising.

FOR THE PRICE I give it 8/10. The band is the only real letdown. It does have a little grip on the inside of the band, so it has it's utility but I wish it was tighter. I'd rather have to fumble with my cash on my wallet more, than worry about dropping it.
