Character you hate the most and why?
The one you dislike, off rip, on spec, the instant they popped into your awareness.

Coals only become diamonds when the pressure doesn't relent as one learns to shine in the midst of darkness.
That said, when did you realize spiritual warfare is real? Those with the greatest voltage come up against an equal resistance and its almost like a prep/test to see if you're really bout it, bout it.
For those born in the shadows depth (or visiting) this will help:

Place your bets!
Then state your reasoning for your pick over the rest as there were a whole load of space cadets up in the mix, yes? Ranging from the super obvious MK ULTRA flex down to ones that were way more subtle and intricate along with some good old fashioned Kool Aid sippers as well.
Pantheon: Its the gift that keeps on giving! (Existential crises, that is)
Following on from the previous thread:
For me there was life - plugged in - then what came next. It made me realize that what most people accept as "reality" is an artful fiction, at best, but it works because so many people buy in, without questioning.
Once you've awakened, by definition, the old rules don't apply any more and one must create a new paradigm. Have any of you done this? Jung spoke about this at length in his works. PKD channeled his tour of the other side into his works that he presented as fiction but, secretly, viewed as fact.
Whats your viewpoint, my friend?
Can be blatant or obvious. Just wondering what anyone detected on their latest rewatch as they pored over more and more details whilst attempting to stitch together a new world view from their existential crisis as delivered by an massively underappreciated animated masterpiece that cut to the quick about the whole human experience and what happens when technology mixes in.
Or, maybe, it already did and we're living in it!
The question is - where is your limit?
Some people will skim the surface, others ponder a bit more and a few dive into the shadows depth. At which point, for you, does it go from credible to totally out there and way beyond the scope of what you think was being said? To me there were layers upon layers in this series and it was presented really, really well. Thats why I think people felt it resonated from their very depths in ways that many cannot truly explain nor, in the case of a few, genuinely wish to comprehend.
To me movies are modern myth and the heroes quest - but from a safe distance. Pantheon, on the flip, made it personal and visceral due to what, when, and how it was said. This is why I think people feel a shift in their reality tunnel after clocking it.
Genuinely wondering. Like there was an obvious before and after bit as things were never, ever the same again. Bonus points if it made you question your entire narrative and a whole load more as well.
This may help some people who were initiated into awakening via spiritual warfare:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ShadowWork/comments/1ugj2nr/spiritual_warfare_as_an_initiation_process/
Why would they? Its lonely as hell seeing your version of the truth in a world full of mass manufactured lies. In the quest you'll fragment ties with those who think they know you best as they suggest you're off your head for questioning the narrative. Not only this but there are an immense amount of spiritual forces aligned against as they need you to stay plugged in to the version of reality they sell and then we have the Fnords...
Have you seen them yet, my friend?
Can any of you relate to whats said or am I am being overly dramatic in text?
Mario Land main theme is pure joy, distilled then super concentrated.

What are your thoughts on this topic? Going from real hardware to emulation and a flat screen obviously adds in some lag. Runahead and stuff works but it doesn't quite feel the same esp if you have muscle memory.
Anyone have any hints of how they get close to a real hardware type input using retroarch? I've managed to tweak the shaders so they look much closer to the original picture but the input lag is either just a bit too slow or a bit "jumpy" if you know what I mean?

More at the link but, yes, they did used to take the piss with their ads, back when. Gaming in general was more "Ow the Edge!" with loads of companies on this but Sega took it to the UK level of coarse and direct with Viz.
What do you think? To me it makes perfect sense for too many reasons to mention but the vid offers the visuals as its important to keep the character of the game intact whilst introducing new things like classic environments, new play methods, 30 racers per circuit with staggered star based on license skills and so much more.
How did watching this make you feel?
I think about this quite a bit. Like how most people live off the shelf lives that are pretty much identikit. If something highly strange should happen to one it A) shatters their old paradigm and B) creates a sense of alienation with the rest plus C) automatically makes most of them doubt his testament.
I mean, even here where its the in thing there is a still a factor of amusement from a distance, yes? And yet, if we consider all of these "blips" they all point toward one thing:
Reality is far stranger than most can imagine.
That really is the crux of it, isn't it? How others go along to get along and thus decode a very narrow bandwidth of what is actually possible. And yet we have these blips at the fringe that make one think "WTF?". Could it be they are correct and its the rest who don't suspect anything is amiss that have been PsyOp'd to oblivion and thus accept less as the standard?
I mean every child is born with a sense of wonder and almost all are gaslit to hell to disconnect from this realm, super quick. From monsters under the bed to "Sit still, look ahead" programming and the rest. There is something about all of this that is super duper sketch but not many see it and, weirder still, will rage against it if you mention it and that, by and large, is the highest strangeness one can imagine. Or not, as the case may be.
Bit of a freestyle ramble but you get my point, yes?
Some people look at it as a toned down SMW but I disagree. On a recent play through I was totally impressed by how much variety they got in there as it seems the developers were really free to play around.
The sprites are immense and detailed plus the DX colorized version looks great. But even the monochrome gets the job done. All of this on a device that barely sipped the batteries. And on the go. In long distant times.
A technical wonder, it is. What do you think?
Also, the music was most excellent. Overall it had a lot more variety than SMW in terms of themes.

Its so catchy, intricate, yet simple. Instantly recognizable, speaks volumes about the character and its just really quite perfect. Not only this but the production is so intricate in terms of melody, counterpoint etc and it used the MegaDrive soundchip so well. Linked is the remix as its quite ace.
Your pick?
Just wondering.

So many cool IPs and yet they don't use them. I don't want to say what my choice is yet because its obviously the best. So lets discuss what you choose, why and if there is actually a market for it?
For bonus points state how you'd reboot it and visualize the whole thing.
Here is my concept:
https://www.reddit.com/r/SEGA/comments/1ulumef/outrun2_sx_rebooted_game_concept/
Outrun2 SX - Same code base, new visuals with that old feel, 30 player online races, 15 fresh game based stages using old IPs and the same for new places to speed and whole loads more as well.
Video at the link as well as info about the DCSX concept I imagine.
Strange translations and all. The lore was just so much more intricate with lots of depth. Keep in mind I'm thinking of SNES/PS1 RPGs here. They really went all out with the world building and there were so many mythic references etc that you only realized were real with maturity and reading.
It could be they didn't have cutscenes to rely on or something else but if you check out the sheer amount of detail they poured in it really showed a lot of effort.
This follows on from the other thread as I guess they both point at the same thing. I don't know, it really does seem there was more "passion" involved then. Either that or I've been there, done that now and thus the newness effect is gone? Maybe both. Who knows?
Its a liberating feeling. I was sitting here looking at buying a new SBC and then I had a moment of clarity:
"The one you have was cool until you saw the new one. What changed?".
I really sat down and listened. The answer is nothing. Nothing but a sense of dissatisfaction at other parts of my life I was trying to paper over using another purchase.
I don't know if anyone else on here needs to hear this but I'm so, so happy now I just had to share. That other thing that wanted my attention was trying to use my hobby to get it instead as I was ignoring it. Now we're both cool!
Thank you for coming to my Red Talk.
