Question about clean hands achievement

Just finished the original dishonored for the first time, it’s pretty fun. I want to go back and get the achievements to beat the game without killing anyone/without being seen. Im pretty sure you can’t just do that by going into mission select, you have to start a new game. But, whenever you beat a mission, you have the option to replay it immediately. If I use that button, can I still get the achievements?

How long is Inscryption really?

I know this can be answered with a quick google search, but there's a small complication with that. According to this website called backloggd, Inscryption takes 15 hours on average, but takes 54 hours to "master." I'm in the mood to play a game that's mostly a one time experience, where you beat the game and you get it over with. A 15 hour game sounds pretty nice. But if I have to replay it to really get a full experience, I don't think I would want to play it right now, because I don't have much time before school starts up again. So any help would be appreciated.

How to "approach" immersive sims?

So, a while back, I bought the Hitman trilogy. I'm the type of guy who just plays a game once, unless I really like it. I actually didn't really enjoy the hitman games, because it felt like I wasn't really doing much a lot of the time. Every level I would just sneak around, kill a dude, and leave. Recently, I've bought dishonored, and while I'm enjoying it a lot more, I still kind of feel like I'm not getting the most out of the game if I don't engage with the systems. I've mainly been jumping in a lot and fighting enemies, because I'm not very good with the stealth. I also have this habit of constantly saving, which ruins the flow of the game for me, but that's kind of irrelevant. So, I really want to engage with these types of games more. But if I replay dishonored, I won't really know how to change it up. So what should I do? Am I making any sense?

Joined my friends' Steam Family, after finally getting a PC. I've got a small backlog to work through....

The craziest part is that there are more games, I got too lazy to put all of the in this chart lol. Currently playing through Dishonored.

Budget deck I can make that isn’t boring?

I get that what makes a deck boring is subjective, but I’ve got some requirements I want for a budget deck, and I was wondering if yall could find something. I don’t want to play a stun deck. I’m fine with combo decks, but not D/D/D style combo decks, which are pretty much just solitaire lol. I’m like looking for something a bit interactive. The cheaper, the better. Thanks!

Really struggling with some achievements

Before I start the DLC, I want to get all the achievements for the base game (except for the archeologist achievement, and the beginners luck achievement). But there’s two that I simply cannot get. I can’t get the Hotshot achievement (where I have to land on the sun station), and the deep impact achievement (Where you have to enter giants deep really fast). Any help would be appreciated.

Recommendations for someone into Lit?

I’m really into all sorts of literature. I’ve heard good things about these Japanese Visual Novels. A little bit out of my comfort zone, I can’t lie. I haven’t watched much anime in my life. Bur I’ve heard people online praise these visual novels to, frankly, absurd degrees. I just want to see what the hype’s all about. I do remember watching this show, Steins Gate, way back in 2012 or something. I think it’s based off of a visual novel. I liked it as a teenager, but going back to it, I don’t think I’d enjoy it. I’m looking for something a little more….literary? Sorry if I’m coming off as pretentious. Recommend me your favorite visual novels!

JRPGs with good stories and dialogue?

I want to get into JRPGs. I started with expedition 33, because I wasn’t really sure if I would enjoy a game with “anime” tropes like Persona. But my god is the dialogue in expedition 33 atrocious. Everything else about the game was fine, but I couldn’t stand the dialogue and voice acting. Any JRPGs with better writing I could get into?

20 games that I think are overrated

Normally I don’t like to spread negativity, but my friend told me that I had a lot of interesting takes and that I should post this here. No shade if you like any of these games, they’re just not for me. And no, this isn’t Ragebait. I can defend each and every single one of these choices. And no, this isn’t in order, except for Stellar Blade, which is by far the most disappointing game I’ve ever played in my life.

Help me scratch my armored core itch?

I played armored core 6 a while back, I had a lot of fun with it. I loved tinkering with my AC and making new builds. But armored core 6 just feels sparse with content. There really aren’t that many builds you can make, and there aren’t that many bosses/levels to fight. If there was a game with the same level of thrilling action, and even more content when it comes to both the levels you play and the builds you create, that would be the perfect game for me. It doesn’t have to be a mech game, but preferably a similarly fast action game.

Rate my first commander deck!

https://moxfield.com/decks/0_fLHEKHNkuMVrg0xMY40w

This is my first ever commander deck! I hope you guys like it. I chose The Beast, Deathless prince as my commander, because I found him at my local card shop and thought he was awesome. He draws cards and rewards me for playing a bunch of spells that steal from my opponent. They are very cheap, so luckily this deck was pretty affordable to make. Basically, the goal is chill out on the first few turns, and eventually play our commander and start to slowly draw some cards. Then, as you have more creatures and theft spells, you can start sacrificing them to do anything. I like the deck when it works so far, but sometimes I think I'm playing too much removal. I thought 12 would be a good number, but dang. I also have trouble in the early game a lot. But so far politics have helped me set up. And sometimes closing out games is a struggle, because I have to wait until there are good creatures to steal. Overall I think it's super fun. Any tips would be appreciated!

Win Cons in an EDH deck

I want to build my first commander deck. So far I've just borrowed my friends' decks. I've been thinking about what I need, like around 37ish lands, around 10 card draw, around 10 ramp, etc. But one thing I'm a little iffy on are win conditions. To start, I really don't know how to find win cons. It's easy enough to find card draw or removal or whatever I need. But win cons are a little more vague. My friends usually don't play infinite combos, because they are too strong, so that's out of the picture. What's constitutes a win con? Is just having a lot of creatures on the board enough? I don't know. And some commanders are their own win cons, whereas some just supplement a theme. How many win cons should I include in a deck?

Help me decide what games to buy!

So, the ArcSys humble bundle is here, and though I already have strive, I am interested in some of the other games. It's BBTAG, BBCF, UNI2, the old GG games, and some other assorted ArcSys stuff. All that for 20 bucks seems like a pretty good deal. However, fatal fury COTW is also on sale for 15 bucks. And Granblue versus rising is also on sale for 15 bucks. I could also get the deluxe editions of these games with some or all DLC for 30 bucks for City of the wolves, and 22 bucks for Granblue. If I wanted to spend like 40 dollars max, what's the best combo of these games to get? I did try the Granblue demo (which is somehow the full game basically? I can use every character in ranked, aside from DLC), I thought it was decently fun, but so far I thought most of the characters felt a little too simple. I did have fun with Ferry though.

I feel bad that I’m not enjoying this game

I just bought this game on sale because the art style is cool, and I’ve been looking for a new fighting game. Well, after a few hours of playing, too much to refund I believe, I have to say, I’m not really having fun. I feel like the characters are very….simple? Maybe I’m missing something, but movement feels very limited, and every character has only 3-4 specials. I was just expecting a little more. Am I approaching this the wrong way? I’m not trying to hate on the game or anything, I’m just not really clicking with it.

Sell me on City of the Wolves

I'm a pretty casual FGC player, I'm Diamond on SF6, I go 0-2 at locals. I don't know much about COTW, but I've wanted to play a new fighting game, and I've heard it's good, and it's on sale. But I have no idea what to expect from Fatal Fury. What exactly makes it unique? What's the appeal? That sort of stuff. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Should mention that I live in Texas, apparently game is very popular in Mexico so I'm sure to find some good matches online.

Help me decide on some games?

I want to buy 2-3 games this summer for the steam sale. I want the first game to be a fighting game. A couple of the ones I could buy are: Fatal Fury: COTW, Rivals of Aether 2, Granblue Fantasy Versus, and BlazBlue: Central fiction. I can’t really decide, I’m a big fan of melee, so Rivals seems fun. I also enjoy traditional FGC stuff though, in particular street fighter 6 and Guilty gear Strive. I dislike tag fighters, so it’s good that none of these are tag games. Really my main concern is good netcode and the ability to always find a match online. I do like fighting games with more diverse rosters generally speaking.

As for the other games, I was looking at Rain World (+DLC), Hades 2 (loved hades 1, so this is probably a slam dunk), the bio shock collection, XCOM 2 (+DLC), and a bundle that contains Prey and Control (+DLC for both). I’m pretty sure I’ll like all of these games no matter what I buy. I figured I’d just tell you guys some games I like, and you could judge based off of that. my favorites are Elden Ring, outer wilds, dead space, Binding of Isaac, Hollow Knigh. Stuff like that. I also like some turn based games, like Persona and Final Fantasy. Really just tell me what game is the most bang for my buck.

Is it normal to not know what I'm doing?

All I've heard about Outer Wilds is that I shouldn't look up anything before playing this game. So I'm like 2 hours into it, I've died a few times, >!so I know about the time loop and all, !<but other than that I have no idea what is going on lol. Is that normal, or am I just a little slow? P.S., how the hell do you land without damaging your ship? I've just been crashing into every planet I can't lie.

Should I pick Monk or Wizard?

I don't really play RPG video games or dungeons and dragons or anything like that, I play , but I thought I'd try it out, you know. Im always playing the same games I gotta mix it up. I've heard you gotta get into the vibe of the character you're playing. So I saw the monk and I thought I could be like ip man from those Chinese movies or Leroy from Tekken (fuck you Leroy you ruined months of Tekken 7). But I could also play Wizard and learn a lot of spells and shit. And that seems pretty cool, I'd be like a master with a different spell for every situation. So now I'm deciding...what's you guys' suggestion? Damn now that I look at the character select screen again I could also be a Cleric man that's so tough. Too many options.

I am looking for a long masterpiece

I have a lot of free time this summer, so I want to play a game that is pretty decently long, and also pretty good. But that's kind of broad, so I'll narrow it down:

  • The game has to have an end. I've played Path of Exile, and dozens of Roguelikes, which are fun, but not what I'm looking for.
  • The game has to good gameplay. I'm fine with turn-based, action, whatever. I like deep, strategical min-maxey turn based stuff, or satisfying action games. I also enjoy a good puzzle game, but thats not really what im looking for atm.
  • A good story is a plus, but not necessary. However, a bad story is inexcusable, ,especially if the dialogue is annoying/frequent. A truly great story/characters can compensate for mediocre gameplay though.
  • The game should be 60 hours of content for one playthrough at least. I think that's a solid definition of "long"
  • Preferably a game that's really fun when you go in blind and discover new things, either story-wise or mechanics wise
  • Some of my favorite games are: Dark Souls 1, Outer Wilds, Armored Core: For answer, Ace Combat, Terraria, Dead Space, Pathologic 2, Hades, XCOM 2, and many more
  • Some games I've played (and liked, but not loved) are Red Dead 2, Cyberpunk 2077, witcher 3, and expedition 33. If I didn't mention these I think you'd probably recommend them.
  • Some games I couldn't finish: God of war 2018, Horizon, last of us (all Playstation games...hmmm.)
  • Some games I'm considering are persona and Final fantasy tactics, and baldurs gate 3 (well, I don't know about baldurs gate 3 because all the gameplay footage i've seen makes the characters look creepy, their eyes are too lifeless lol).
