Hi all,

I had a scan the other day which showed a fetal pole of 2.4mm, which they dated at 5w4d, normal yolk sac and a GS consistent with 6w1d. According to my calcs, I should be 6w4d. The ultrasound tech and doctor are concerned with the 2.4mm fetal pole. There was also no cardiac activity. I am going back in a week to check to see how things are progressing but not feeling very confident. My dr also told me to expect the worse, hope for the best.

I then had an HCG draw yesterday that came back today and my levels were 62,600 at 6w5d. This seems awfully high? I am also getting another HCG done tomorrow to see its progress, but my symptoms are so strong - I am so nauseous.

Anyone been through something similar and it all turned out okay? I am so confused at this point.

I am either 3/4 days post ovulation just going off OPKs and some mild ovary pain I get around ovulation. It’s our first month trying for baby #2 and I’m feeling really positive this month. Everything was really well timed and I’m hoping all goes well.

I am just wondering - how long after ovulation do you all find CM dries up? I had a feeling I ovulated at like 3pm in the afternoon one day, but at like 6am the next day, my CM had completely gone sticky already and the EWCM had the day before was completely gone.

Could I have ovulated the day before this instead for this turn around in CM to be so quick and definitley under 24 hours? I also had a positive ovulation test that day before - it was my peak. The day I thought I ovulated as above was after this day as my tests were getting progressively lighter throughout the day.

Keen to hear what others think. Getting impatient during the TWW and want to know if i should be considering myself 3 or 4 days DPO. Thanks!

So my husband and I really want two kids. Our daughter is now 21 months old and she is just perfect - we love her to bits. We have a good routine going, she sleeps through the night and all is well. The thing is, I desperately want a second child but I have so much hesitation. Guilt, maybe? As I almost feel like I am betraying our daughter by having another child…I don’t know how to describe it! I don’t want her to think we love her any less because we have two children. I am also really worried if we have a second, that when that child is young, my daughter will miss me and be upset I’m with the youngest and not her 😩 I’m also worried if it’s even a good idea or not….like, financially we can afford it and we own our house so we have a stable roof and very stable jobs but I’m still second guessing everything!!!! Like, is the timing right??

Now, a week ago I was so ready to start trying - so we have started actively trying. But a week in, I am now feeling this immense guilt for my daughter and worry that maybe it’s not the right thing to do! Even though I am desperately wanting another!!

Urgh - are these feelings normal?? Am I insane?? I think i am just freaking out now that I’ve past the point of no return and I could be pregnant this month and I’m just realising the enormity of that thought and situation.

I guess this is more of a vent than a question. I just love my daughter so much and as much as I want a second child to love so much too and I’m just so worried my daughter won’t take it well and will be sad that I’m spending time with another baby and not her.

I need some help.

My husband, daughter (21 months) and I are going to Europe at the end of the year for 4 weeks. We want to try for baby number 2 and originally said we would after our holiday, but I don’t know, now, I am desperate and I really want to start trying now for baby number 2. There is something in me that thinks it could be super special to have baby number 2 onboard on this holiday so I we can tell him/her we were all on holiday together. My husband says it’s up to me - my heart says yes, my brain says not so sure.

Am I being silly? Should we just enjoy the holiday not pregnant? I don’t drink so I am not worried about not being able to drink. If I was to fall pregnant this month, I’d be 15-19 weeks pregnant over the holiday, so right in the ‘goldilocks’ period and out of the first trimester.

I need some input! Am I being silly? Should I just calm down or does it not hurt to wait?

As the title says. Super El Niño has me confused. Does it get colder in Europe over winter or warmer, even though El Niño apparently doesn’t affect Europe?

As the title says. We bought a house and all the plants are these native stick plants that just don’t look good in a garden. We want to renovate the garden into someone more green and lush and are thinking of going down the tropical, low maintenance route. We live in south east Queensland and are hoping for some plant recommendations!

The backyard where the garden would be is quite shady so they need to be quite shade tolerant.

We are travelling from Australia to Paris via Singapore on SQ in December and have just purchased a Bugaboo Butterfly travel pram to take with us for our toddler on the trip and hopefully have it in the airport with us.

Has anyone travelled with one before? Any issues with having it onboard? Does Singapore Airlines require it to be in a bag onboard to fit in the overhead?

We have a Yoyo and my biggest gripe is it doesn’t recline flat for our toddler. We are heading to Europe in December and i really want to get the Bugaboo Plus for this trip. She needs the lay flat!

Anyone know when it would be released and how much we could expect it to be in Australia?

As the title says. They’re having such a warm summer, so I am starting to panic that their winter is going to be warm af. We are travelling from Australia so we love a bit of cold weather on holidays. We are also skiing in the French alps so are starting to panic that there will be no snow!

What’s the general consensus?

As the title says. Heading to Meribel with the fam from Australia at the end of December 26/ early January 27. Every day, there is talk about how warm Europe is this summer and the super El Niño and I’m now starting to get worried that we will have no snow.

Are we cooked? Should we be shifting resorts to Val Thorens?

As the titles says, we will be in Rome mid-January next year with our 2 year old. We are wondering if a day trip to Pompeii is worth it?

From what I can see on the Trenitalia sight, we could catch an early train from Rome leaving at about 8am, and get to Pompeii by 10am. My thinking is we could do a few hours in Pompeii, go back to Naples for an early dinner before getting on the train back to Rome at like 6pm and getting back to Rome at 7.15pm.

Is this a good idea or are we going to be a bit rushed?

So I have had sinus infections in the past with viral infections. But about 9 days ago, I woke up with what felt like the assumed aftermath of being punched in the face under my eye. My nose was so blocked on one side and I had a deep throb in my face. I kind of knew then that it felt different but was hoping it would clear up on its own.

Anyway - fast forward and guess what? It hasn’t gone away. If anything; it’s just getting worse - lots of pain in my face, bloody, green discharge from the side completely blocked up, thick postnasal drip and then 2 days ago - spiked a fever and felt very unwell. Was 38.4 degrees, had the aches - the whole jam. It was awful. I went to bed, hoping to sleep it off and nope - still there. Pain in my face, but now with a fever and just feeling horrible. I knew at that point it had to be bacterial. It was a public holiday yesterday so I couldn’t get to my usual doctor so had to Telehealth with an online doctor to get some antibiotics. Finally got prescribed some amoxicillin and started it last night.

I had a dreadful sleep last night - couldn’t breathe through my nose; fever, just general crappy feeling and of course a when I woke up this morning and I still feel like garbage, but my fever when I woke up did seem to be a little less - 38.2. I am also feeling nauseous this morning, but I do think that’s the antibiotics.

Anyone know when I should start to feel better from these antibiotics?? It’s only been 15 hours since I started them so I know it’s early but I am just so over this.

Coincidentally - I had a CT scan on my sinuses 3 weeks ago (was getting headaches) which showed no anatomical abnormality - just slight thickening in this sinuses. So I know I don’t have anything super bad going on or sinister. But I did not realise how crappy a sinus infection can make you feel.

I have learned my lesson too - don’t let it go on for a week and do nothing!!!!!

Anyway. This is what i am currently going through. It sucks. But anyone know when i will start feeling better with these antibiotics?? Thanks so much!

The language burst is so real. I was one of those mums that was paranoid at 18 months because my child was hardly talking. She would repeat words after I would say them but said very little independent words. I was paranoid, to say the least. But everyone told me that there was a ‘language burst’ and it would happen and to just give her time because she was quiet and meeting every single other milestone. So we have it time and……..

I think it happened!! The last few months, literally almost a week after she turned 18 months, she started saying ‘bye bye’ out of the blue! She kept saying words slowly and THEN! Literally in the last few weeks, we are using (and I have counted and written them down, likely missing some) ATLEAST 36 words 🤯🤯🤯 we even have sign language for ‘more’? What?! All of this has happened so so so quick.

And then if I say some words, she just will repeat them all the time! Like complex words too, like ‘purple’ all of a sudden? And I haven’t even included them my language count because I don’t think she knows how to use it in context yet lol.

Anyway. My point is that I am so relieved that the language burst is real. It will come. And your toddlers will be totally fine!!

My daughter goes to daycare 3 days a week and has had 3 days off due to illness last week. We have provided the centre with doctors certificates.

If we provide the certificates, do these absent day still count towards the tally? Or are they excluded?

We just have a big holiday booked for the end of the year that will chew up 18 days of our days so are a bit concerned about the tally……

I swear our daycare said we could provide certificates and the days would be excluded, so we have been sending them, but now I’m reading conflicting information that this isn’t the case.

Just a bit of a rant here. I am quite irritated.

My daughter goes to daycare on Wednesdays. This Wednesday is a public holiday. Today I realised that not only do we get charged for the day when the centre is shut, it also gets recorded as an absent day and counts towards the CCS absent days cap! WTF!!!

Not only do I think it’s ridiculous we have to pay for the day and it’s not built into the daily fees, BUT I am penalised through no fault of my own that my child will have an absent day used and have it count towards the CCS cap and there is literally nothing we can do about it.

Firstly - why?! And secondly, is charging for the public holiday more common than not?? And do they have to report it? Does your daycare?

I’m furious!

Any ideas when they release? I just want to get them asap so I can access cheaper fares.

Also, does anyone know if they run the direct Paris to Moutiers (alps) train mid week on a Wednesday? Or are we likely going to need to change in Chambery.
