ESF and midweek arrivals in French alps?

Hi all,

We have a trip to Meribel booked at the end of December this year/first week of Jan and because we didn’t know of the Saturday/Sunday thing when we booked it, we are arriving on a Wednesday, leaving on a Thursday.

We will have our daughter going to the ESF kindergarten there, but on their website, it says Sunday to Saturday. Does this mean if you arrive mid week, you can’t book anything with ESF? They won’t allow you to book for mid week dates?

Appreciate the input - I’m freaking out! We managed to get accomodation for mid week arrival but now I’m worried about our daughter’s care being difficult now

Thanks

Travelling to Meribel from Paris mid week in new year period?

Hi all,

We are going to Meribel in the last week of December/January and are arriving on a Wednesday, leaving on a Thursday. We have accommodation booked in Meribel for mid week dates.

My concern is, I know that most people stay Saturday/Saturday which we didn’t know when we booked the flights. We had planned on catching the train from Paris to Moutiers and then getting the bus to Meribel. Is this going to be possible on a Wednesday/ Thursday or have we cooked ourselves? Do they even run these trains mid week?

Can we get from Meribel Central to Moutiers on a Thursday?? I was hoping to book an altibus.

Thank you! Would appreciate the advice.

Best way to get to Meribel from Paris

Hi all,

We are travelling from Paris to Meribel in the last week of December this year. Our plan is to train to Moutiers, but what is the most efficient train route to get there? Is there an express? And once we’re at the station, what bus transfer does everyone recommend?

On the way back, we will be heading to Italy. Wondering what the easiest station to get to from Moutiers would be to connect onto Italy?

Thanks so much!

Meribel or Courchevel 1650?

Hi all,

We have an apartment booked in Courchevel 1650 for December/January this year. We are taking our 2 year old. However, I am wondering if maybe Meribel is a better choice for first time in Les 3 Vallees? We want family friendly, with some good alpine charm, restaurants and decent skiing.

Have we made the wrong choice and should we book Meribel instead? Really keen to hear peoples opinions.

Thanks!

Weaning at 18 months is awful

So my daughter is 18.5 months old and today is the first day we have done 1 feed every 24 hours (so just at night. It’s the first day of dropping the morning feed and my GOD do I feel so emotional, headachey and actually depressed. Is this normal? I feel like no one talks about this but it has to be the weaning! I feel so awful and sad and actually sick.

My daughter has also just become so clingy and throwing proper tantrums. She refused dinner and just screamed the whole time - I’m guessing in protest to the lack of feeding? And because I’m so sad, it’s just making me feel even worse. I feel like a monster.

Can someone give me some insight. Is this normal? I feel awfully emotional and I was not expecting it at all ☹️

No one warns you about the hormonal crash that comes with weaning a toddler!

Best Asian sunscreen now it’s winter!

Hi all,

I just want to preface that I only use Asian sunscreen when it’s winter and for incidental exposure (going to the office ect).

I have been using Roundlab Birch Juice sunscreen and I LOVE it, but I have started using Azelaic Acid into my skincare routine in the last month and I just cannot use this sunscreen now without it stinging the crap out of my face. It is the only sunscreen I have this problem with! All my Europe and Australian sunscreens are fine but this one hurts ☹️

So I am wondering - what is everyone’s favourite light weight, moisturising Asian sunscreen for under makeup??

Hi all,

My 18 month old daughter currently has her first bought of Hand Foot and Mouth (thanks to a daycare outbreak….).

We’re on day 3 and her rash seems to be getting worse. She has small red dots all over her and I thought she was through the worst of it with only a handful of those spots being blisters. This morning though I’ve noticed the soles of her feet blistering up. It doesn’t seem to be bothering her but there are so many bubbling up under her feet. She also has a few blisters popping up between her fingers. Is there anything I can do to help? I’m worried this will cause her a lot of pain when they burst 😩😩

She is drooling too so I suspect she has something going on in her mouth too, but there isn’t a chance she’s going to let me look. She has gone a bit quiet today but she’s eating okay so I am taking this as a good sign that the mouth isn’t too bad.

Any remedies or tips welcome! Thank you!!

Hey all,

It’s our first rodeo with daycare - daughter only started going 8 weeks ago. She’s 17 months old. We’ve just been notified today that they have a gastro outbreak with cases in her room, and they have notified the department of health. She’s been at daycare all day yesterday and today. She was also there last Monday.

How likely are we to get it? I am freaking out the whole family is going to get it as I have heard horror stories. Please tell me your daycare gastro outbreak stories! Did anyone get spared?

Thank you!!

Don’t know how this stuff works but I have just increased my Tretinoin frequency to 3 times a week and added 20% Azelaic Acid to my routine in the morning each night (Finacea).

Usually I am a peeling, red, stingy mess when I increase frequency or add AZ so I give up with the AZ but I thought I’d give this stuff a go and it’s magic. No stinging, no flaking - nothing. My skin feels great and so soft. I am so so so freaking happy

I use the serum in the morning and night and the cream just at night.

Hope this helps anyone struggling with adjusting to tret and AZ! This stuff has really helped me and I hope it helps others 😊
