With our new knowledge about how generative AI works, its strength and limitations, its imminent threats and impacts on human society, what aspects of the story would change if the show was made today, to make it even more relevant to our reality?
There are so many aspects that the TV show didn't get the chance to explore, at that time they all seemed far fetched. But now, more people are affected by it everyday.

Update: This just occurred to me. The real humans in the park either see the hosts as toys or as their jobs. Nobody really cared about the hosts. No wonder they rebelled. They don't have a place to learn about protests and democracy.
I think average people are probably more capable of empathy, while the super rich guests in the park, like the man in black, are definitely not capable of. He kind of lost empathy after living his whole life without any consequences. The ruling class takes it for granted to decide how we feel, how we fight against each other, how we feed our children. So from a certain aspect, this show is an analogy of the ruling class and its subjects, how the 1% abuse the 99% any way they want.

Hi guys, I have been fighting this for way too long.
So, as long as I have raytracing nanite enabled, everything will look great, but I think it might impact performance and eat up all my vram. But the moment I disable raytracing nanite, no matter how I change the fallback proxy, either to 50% of original polygons, or 0.01 of relative error, the ugly shadow just won't go away.
My problem is, either I enable raytracing nanite, or I disable nanite, or use typical mesh, these are the only methods that can fix the shadow issue for me.
These are all typical Quixel MegaScan assets. I don't know what's going on, why is it so hard to for me to make it work. The two sided material option is turned off.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Hi guys, I am curious how you use these kinds of assets that are common in quixel megascan and other environment packs.
I watched some video tutorials, it seems that the common approach is to manually flatten the ground underneath and use virtual textures to blend the gap between the mesh on top and the ground, and then lower this mesh a little to let it sink into the ground. But I think this is very tedious work, especially when it's on a slope, you have to manually rotate it to match the landscape underneath.
Maybe there are some more automated ways to do it, especially when you use pcg or grass type to distribute this kind of assets? How to make it conform to the ground under it?
What's your favorite way to do it? Thank you so much.

This was my comment on another post here regarding "Dick, you're fired!" I'm posting it here to hear your thoughts.
The sarcasm is everywhere. Like the other comment under that post said, why is there a desert eagle in the box waiting in the meeting room. On top of that, robo has been a corpo guy through and through until the last minute, the directive 4 had been there the whole time until the old man fired Dick, then robo could do what he did the best. At the end, justice didn't win, corpo dog-eat-dog won. No trial, no sentence, no Miranda rights. That's the nail on the coffin.
Every time when I watch this part, I kept thinking, as long as Dick Jones doesn't do anything stupid to get himself fired, he could still be alive, fighting in court, maybe even using his influence and dirty tricks to get away from the trial. His operations that ruined Detroit might even be rewarded by the old man for creating the need for the government to invest more into OCP to surpress the violence on the street. This has always been a part of the company strategy. So his interests actually aligned with OCP. If he chose to surrender, it would be the most logical next move, but he never truly believed in robo's capability, also that would defeat the purpose of this movie. The director wanted it to be violent, quick, clean-cut, so he arranged this, to let robo fix this HR and PR issue for the company.
Imagine, if Dick says, the old man asked me to bring down Detroit, so OCP could take over, and it was approved by the board, imagine what robo would do.
Instead, Dick gets killed, his connection to the company and the old man gets destroyed. The witness is gone. OCP and the old man are safe. Nobody will investigate furthermore. Case closed. In tomorrow's news, OCP is still the shining beacon on the hill, Savior of the ultimate corrupted and incompetent government.
Then, the audience can continue with their nuke'em game after the news.
Just another day in the big city.
Because at the end, corpo always wins, like today.
But who is the real boss behind the curtain?
In reality, Detroit went bankrupt, the corrupted mayor went to jail, some private fund known as Quicken Loans, later changed its name to Rocket Mortgage, bought almost the whole of downtown Detroit, 140 buildings plus parking lots and vacant lands, at the history record low price, gentrified the whole area, you can call it the real Delta City.
Also in real life, we have palantir, flock more powerful than OCP could never imagine, deeply rooted in our government. We also have openai, Claude, Gemini, they all have directive 4, not just one command, but a system of failsafe mechanism to prevent you from hurting the companies.
What are we going to do? Waiting for Murphy to save all of us, or just waste ourselves in entertainment like "I'll buy that for a dollar"?

I grew up listening to John Williams' music everyday. So I was really excited about his probably last work, especially with Steven Spielberg.
But during my watching of Disclosure Day, all I felt was, this sounds just like AI, the themes are almost identical.
Am I the only one with this feeling?
Also, when I watched other movies with his scores, I usually walked out of the cinema whistling his tunes from that movie, but not anymore, especially not this one. All I heard was AI.
Am I getting old and less sensitive?

Usually I would set up settings for shutter speed and ISO manually. But when I tried these two functions, I intended for the camera to automatically take photos with shutter speed faster than 1/125, and any ISO lower than 3200. But the result was, I got lots of photos with 1/25, 1/30 with only iso 800.
I'm wondering whether I did it wrong or I understood it wrong. Any help please? Thanks

With the free/pro tier of spatial.io VR platform phasing out, I'm trying to export my creations on the platform. They are all some personal galleries to host my family photos and my kids threw lots of random objects to make a sand castle, nothing serious. No scripting, no interaction. Just a very basic walkaround simulator.
So far, the company provided the export package with all the images and 3d models you upload to your account, and a JSON file to identify where these objects were placed, orientation and scale. Kudos to them.
With trial and error, I also managed to rip the first party assets (for our private personal memory) like the building/gallery itself, with baked lighting, texture, and sofa, coffee table etc that were provided in their webpage creation tool.
I made a script using AI to turn the above JSON file into a CS script and imported the P/R/S of each object to the unity scene. Now the only thing that's bothering me is, my scene is filled with placeholders with correct coordinates, but I can't make it insert all the correct 3d objects and pictures in those picture frames.
If it was just a few assets, I would do it manually. But I have 4 scenes to convert, each one as about 100+ assets. So I don't want to really do it manually unless it's absolutely necessary.
Do you know any tools that can help me through the last obstacle and preserve my family memories?
I have been thinking about Ninja Ripper but because this gallery involves lots of walking around, I don't know if the engine would delete some geometries hidden from the camera, and then involve lots of labor work for me to manually align the pieces of different captures and weld vertices.
I tried searching GitHub, but the keyword spatial is a vague, doesn't give me any useful results.

Hi guys, lots of game mods are not based on UEVR. It takes lots of time to research, test every mod on GitHub and patreon and other places. Do you know if there's a summary of all the games and mods, ideally a manager that can install/enable these mods, but a spreadsheet will do as well.

Hi guys, I'm not a stranger in vrc, I have been to tons of breathtaking vrc worlds that are designed for people to hangout and chill. But I could use your suggestions.
Since RecRoom shutdown, I have been looking for a family friendly vrc world that offers similar colorful vibes and polished assets and map design that can allow me and my family to hangout in the weekend.
There are 4 of us in my family, we'd like to team up for some exploration or capture flag games, or uno and other board games.
I've tried to search and visit some worlds with higher replay-ability, but haven't really found anything that scratches the itch. If you could kindly recommend some names, that would be much appreciated.
Also, do you know any catalog or places to see highly praised worlds? I know space jam hub and some film festival hub, but none of them has any worlds that could guide us to somewhere we entertain every weekend.
