I’ve been with a family medicine, primary care physician for the last two years. My previous doctor, of 25 years, abruptly retired and abandoned his patients, with two months of Rx.
After this new group saw what a difficult time I was having, trying to find proper pain management, they finally had their (hospice) nurse practitioner take me on.

I’ve been perfect! u/A‘s done. Never short on meds. No cancellation of appointments. Never complained about pharmacy shortages or called them constantly because the pharmacy app WANTS me to look bad! And yet, it says after EVERY APPOINTMENT, in MyChart: “ opioid abuse disorder“.

Is this just a normal thing to write about every chronic pain patient? Does anyone else see this, unwarranted, in your charts? There’s not ONE instance that would warrant a “diagnosis“ like that. Maybe the state requires it? (NY) I’m too scared to ask the provider. 🌊

I went to my doctor for a procedure. He sent me a bill, and I didn’t pay it.

He called and said, “Don’t you have a health insurance plan?”
I said, “I have concepts of a plan.”

Then he said, “You should have considered the affordability of this procedure.”
I said, “Affordability… that’s a hoax made up by the Democrats.”

Then I said, “Don’t worry… I’ll pay you with the money from my medication.”
He said, “What are you talking about?”

I said, “Trump is lowering the cost by 200%, 300%, 600%, and 800%, so that means they’ll pay me for taking my medication. I’ll just pay you when I get that money.” 🌊

I saw a classroom, with approximately twelve 3 year olds. They were all handed a regular children’s book. All, but three, attempted to “swipe” it open. The three, who weren’t swiping, sat on the floor and opened their book.

My spouse died in 1990, at the age of 42, from cirrhosis of the liver. Not alcohol related. Served in the Marines, 1968-1970. Honorable discharge. I applied, back then, and they said that cirrhosis wasn’t covered. I never applied again. Now, because of the PACT act, everyone is telling me to reapply. I’ve been trying to educate myself, on this. I keep seeing and hearing about “rating”. I am too messed up, myself, to attack this.

The death certificate says: immediate cause..

a) overwhelming sepsis

B) disseminated intravascular coagulation

c) end stage liver failure

d) esophageal varices

He was not disabled or rated, prior to his death. He passed out, at work, brought to the hospital and six weeks later, died. There’s TONS of records, two different hospitals and I don’t have them.

I don’t know where any of his medical or military records are. I don’t know what area he was in. I think he did engineering and looking for mines.It’s been over 25 years since I last applied. All I have is the marriage and death certificate. I’m 61, if that matters. (yeah, the age difference, I know) No parent or child dependents.

If you guys think I should reapply, do you recommend a VSO or attorney. I’m aware of the fees, with the attorney. I’m SO confused! Any advice would be appreciated and thank you for reading this❣️🌊

The weather is beautiful. It’s sunny, 70 degrees, blue skies with tons of birds chirping. I can smell the fresh cut grass. Children are playing with parents and grandparents, as summer starts. People, who have 20-30 years on me, (I’m 61) are walking around the neighborhood.

I’m staring, out the window, watching them, from my bed…..tears quietly streaming down my face. 😢Then, I tell myself “there’s nothing I can do about it“. Commitment and acceptance. I need some reassurance, that I’m not alone, doing this. 🌊
