Wentworth Mansion

Hi all - doing some research for an upcoming trip.

Based on some online reviews it seems Wentworth is a nice place to stay but I wanted so local opinions.
It looks like they also have a restaurant, Circa 1886. Is it a good place to dine?

Amex Business Gold approval (In PUJ)

I’ve been getting denied for Amex cards recently with the dreaded pop up. I had my heart set on an ABG recently the other day but still got that pop up “not eligible for the welcome offer”

I came across a post on DDG about logging on to the Amex business cards landing page and clicking around until the pop up “we can help you find Card program that’s best for you” pop up that prompts you to enter your info for a consultant to contact you.

I entered my info and a rep called me pretty quickly.

He asked a few basic questions, then emailed me an application with a 175k welcome offer. He stayed on the line while I applied and I was immediately approved. He confirmed the offer was attached and sent me on my way.

May be worth a try if you’re getting declined welcome offers due to pop up jail.

Hilton loophole to deny Diamond members lounge access

One Mile at a Time has an article but here’s a summary if you don’t want to read it

Hilton may have found a loophole to limit Executive Lounge access for regular Diamond members.

The issue started with the new Diamond Reserve tier, which gets access to “Premium Clubs” in addition to all standard Diamond benefits. Now, the Hilton Cleveland Downtown has rebranded its executive lounge as “The Club at Hilton” and designated it as a Premium Club instead of an Executive Lounge.

That means Diamond Reserve members get complimentary access, while regular Diamond members do not, despite the hotel previously offering lounge access to Diamonds. Hilton’s terms distinguish between Executive Lounges and certain “Club” accommodations, which appears to allow this change.

The concern is that if more Hilton properties follow this model, hotels could effectively remove lounge access from standard Diamond members simply by renaming their lounges as “clubs.” While these new clubs may offer upgraded food, drinks, and service, many members see it as another reduction in the value of regular Diamond status.

Article is below if you do want to read their content.

Rakuten/Farmers Dog

Would you buy 7,500 Bilt points for $18? I sure as heck would.
Check out Farmers Dog on Rakuten! It’s $75 cash back or 7,500 Bilt rewards.

If you choose the right breed/size dog during sign up you can get your fist box (it’s the only one that matters) for about $18 shipped.

I always choose a 2lb Chihuahua 😂

Palladium 1x accelerator

I wish Bilt would add a default to automatically redeem your Bilt cash for the 1x accelerator. I had a $3,900 transaction that only got 38 extra points on because my previous one ran out.
I know, I know, I should have thought about it especially since it was such a big purchase. Darn it!

Reminder to check your folios

Just another reminder to check that folio.

Just checked our folios for three recent stays (two nights at HGI -SeaTac, WA and one at HGI-Olympia, WA).

SeaTac decided to charge us $22 for parking even though we did not have a vehicle during our stay (literally used the shuttle from/to the airport and paid for a private shuttle to the cruise port).
They also didn’t apply the daily $20 F&B credit

HGI Olympia didn’t apply the F&B credit.

On a good note- I was able to chat with the front desk and both properties today and easily resolved both folios. It’s just frustrating that you have to remind them to apply credits that should be automatic, and don’t assume guests park vehicles and not ask.

Hilton CS- I know you lurk on this subreddit. You all need to fix this stupid F&B credit situation.

This is why you redeem out asap

Got an email that my account has been terminated due to misuse.

Not sure what means exactly as none of the things mentioned in the email occurred, but this is why you always cash out. Fortunately I only had .62 cents and nothing pending.
