I just remembered "Pancake Gabby" and burst out laughing by myself on this patio

Honestly I find it pretty dumb that you can hide your last login date. Who cares? Someone stalking you or something? If you haven't logged in "in over seven days" I want to know so I can delete you to make room for new friends who are active traders or battlers.
My workaround has been to look at people's wishlists: If you don't have one, delete (even though that's an imperfect metric). If your wishlist has only old cards and none of the latest ones, I'll assume you're inactive (but that's also imperfect since I, like many, am chasing 2*s from old sets and may not want any from the recent sets).
So I'm sure I'm deleting some folks who are still active. OTOH, if they hide their last login, then perhaps that's kinda "what you get"?
What do others think?
Looking into this finally (and have to pay the outrageous fees to reinstate my license with OCT) but wondering which foreign degree evaluation company folks have gone with?
Just looking at the NACES site is making my head spin... there's so many private companies out there that do the evaluation so would love to hear if anyone had personal direct experience with a good company (ie. quick, not overly expensive, reliable, etc.)
List I was looking at: https://naces.org/members/
The game insisted on making me throw one more fast attack while I’m mashing the charge attack button which… made the opponent fail a catch they were supposed to have successfully gotten on me and would’ve won them the match lmao 🤷
Happened like 3 times throughout my sets today :p
Can we please do this (what's in the parentheses) in Olden Era? I'm too dumb to manually calculate each time and/or memorize the buffs!
Make no mistake, devs need to really buff up and improve the PVE experience a LOT (much has already been said about it, so no need to rehash it here) but I got a suggestion from someone here (forget who sorry) to play the Scenarios and it's been quite fun for me.
Mini-story arcs, some single player some multi hero. I'm not a super pro min-max player so playing on Hard was challenging enough for me (lost both scenarios I tried the first attempt and then strategized and rethought and played more carefully and won with effort the second times). It actually helped me to get more acquainted with each faction's specialties and playstyles more thoroughly instead of just stomping through on unit strength alone. I'm sure these would be boring cake-walks for the experts, although maybe it'll still be amusing on Unfair mode? I'm not good enough to play that level though.
So I guess for those who are like medium-level players, try out the Scenarios if you haven't already.
The AI attacked me on week 2 and specifically went after my weaker 2nd castle and 2nd hero and I was able to fend them off only somewhat-easily. I will admit this was the only real opponent challenge but it was fun to test myself with not-my-strongest.
The rest of the challenge was creeping in the first 1-3 weeks since the spawns were all "impossible" or "lethal," it was hard for me to gather resources and units. This made me play super carefully to avoid bleed rather than just rush headlong into things. But once I overcame the hump with the right Laws, I snowballed and had a lot of fun.
Gonna play through the rest of the scenarios and then probably put the game down until 1.0 comes out!
I know it's because they share cells or something but the two red stops above seem to be close enough together to share a cell too?
So why are there two white ones? (for reference, I had the white one on the left added yesterday).
Listen I get ~it's a marathon~ and that legendaries should be more difficult to catch than your random 16pip mon.
But if this is a debut event where you're being inundated with resources specifically for catching the debut event-focus mon, there should be event bonuses for catching that can then go away afterwards (so that there's still some "rarity" or difficulty to catching it regularly after the event).
I've used 2 incense and luckily had 1 natural encounter so far. I'm at M11 on Lapis and have been getting mostly crap spawns.
Have used all my bonus biscuits, 4 Lati@s biscuits, and 2 Great Biscuits and I STILL HAVEN'T CAUGHT THE ONE BASIC ASS FIRST CATCH LATI0S.
First encounter: got full after 1 bonus, 1 Lati0s biscuit. (9 pips)
Second encounter: got full after 1 bonus biscuit, 1 Lati0s biscuit. (9 pips)
Third encounter: got full after 1 bonus, 2 Great biscuit (9 pips) [had used the rest of my Lati0s biscuits on a Lati@s to use my banked incense so I could claim my free incense on Monday, which I also did not catch. Great system!]
So yes you get 9 "free" pips through bonus biscuits and have to fill in 21 pips after that, so 3.5-4 Lati0s biscuits or more if you combo with Great.
I find it all obscene!
So I don't play PVP at all, not interested in the competitive aspect of this particular game (though I do enjoy watching playbacks and find the discussion of it here very interesting).
But I've played through the campaign and used each faction on random maps and now I feel like I'm kinda "done" even though I want to keep playing. I guess I could play on insane mode to test myself but, as many have pointed out, a lot of the enjoyment for people like me is just power fantasy.
So what are fellow PVE-only folks playing now while we wait?
wanted to post an image but I can't.
I was looking everywhere for my Amazon Chase card number to add to my new Amazon account but I left my physical card at home (I'm traveling). The account number is obscured everywhere on the website, on the statement, and on the app. As we know they only show us the last 4 digits.
Only after glancing at the statement, which obscures the account number, did I notice that it's in the "internal" numbers (like at the bottom of a check) above the grey box with the "payment due date." I realized it's the full number because I recognized the last 4 digits of my card there.
This seems like a massive security oversight? I was able to add my own card to my Amazon account using this number.
Obviously useful for legitimate purposes like mine but... otherwise, what are we doing here, people?!
Had to evade automod filters, sorry for weird spelling.
I had complained a few months back about how for heavy tr@ders, especially F2P tr@ders, the green tr@de stamina tokens were the biggest bottleneck toward finishing sets, especially if you're min-maxing 2*s, which requires rushing the 24hr WPs.
Literally I play everyday and I had maybe 100-200 tr@de stamina tokens, and each one counted for an hour of cooldown, so they were practically useless at such low distribution levels. I never used them, always had to wait out the clock manually.
Since then, the devs have FLOODED us with these things so much that I'm at 1000+ tokens. I'm easily completing tr@des whenever my friends offer them because I don't mind spending 12-20 tokens to get rid of cooldown now.
So, there's my positive statement for the day: thanks devs for making tr@ding easier!
If you're still in the trade lobby and your partner agrees to the trade, instead of just finishing the trade when you press refresh, it will kick you OUT of the trade lobby and back into the trade landing page so that you have to click back into the lobby to finish the trade.
Please devs NO MORE. Fix this!
If you already have mons bu1lt of like the top 50 for this season, there's really not much to bu1ld for next season or am I wrong? Just glanced through the preview on PVPoke.
On the one hand, that's good because people learn mons and match ups to climb and having huge shakeups in the meta is bad for that. It's also nice to not be forced to spend all your dust/candy just to keep up with a huge meta shakeup.
On the other, I'm a bit bored lol.
I have a pet Lyft booked ahead of time and someone already agreed to take the job. Great.
But it shows they have a sedan whereas I need to bring my dog's giant dog crate with me to the airport (they know I'm going to the airport obviously).
I have no idea if the dude is gonna show up and a) the crate won't fit (it really should since I can fit it into the backseat of my hatchback) or b) he might refuse or cancel last minute.
SO SO stressful.
Edit: UPDATE cancelled scheduled ride and had to book an UberPet non-scheduled since it was like $20 cheaper 🤷
Ugh playing a custom PVE game. Got the spell book bug (again) during a battle so I couldn't minimize it and thus accidentally clicked on the wrong parts of the battlefield.
Last time this happened I was able to win the battle still since the enemy was very weak but this time it wasn't possible.
So I pressed ESC and there was a "restart match" button. I figured that meant it would restart the battle and I thought it might reset the spell book bug.
Of course it ended up restarting the entire scenario instead. And since there's no autosave during single player PVE, I just lost 30 minutes of progress.
Very annoying. I just ended up closing the game out of frustration because I didn't want to redo 30 mins of game play.
Devs, please fix the spell book bug, fix the wording in the main menu because "restart match" is ambiguous, include autosave in single player PVE, and also create an option to retry/restart battles (even if it's just like HoMM3 where you can not accept the outcome of a battle after it's over and retry it). Thank you!
Lol sorry for convoluted title and yes obviously all speculation.
I just finished the series and read a bunch of threads from this sub on Melfi and Tony's "breakup," which I take to be overall unsatisfactory for most people, including Bracco herself, whether it be how rushed it was or the actual storybeats feeling wrong. It also rang a bit weird to me but mostly because it was so rushed. It could've happened sometime in Part 1 of S6 imo.
Anyway, it occurs to me that Chase, as most know, borrowed the name Melfi from his mother's maiden name, and you could easily see Tony as an avatar for Chase wrestling with his own demons.
Not to Melfi too hard here but the framework of the entire show could be Chase wrestling with his mother, her believing he's redeemable but him not really believing that about himself, which might lend some extra significance to abrupt and rude/unprofessional tenor of the "break up."
Maybe Chase was really exorcising some demons with his mother by either projecting a bunch of negative feelings onto her to finally tell him/Tony off, or maybe he is writing what he had hoped his mother had done to him, take a hard line and apply some tough love that was, in reality, neglect or apathy?***
***no defamation is meant towards the Chase estate, just good ol' stupid fan theorycrafting!
Okay I'm ready to get fully ragged on because I know that's how it goes in these types of posts but my caveat is my mom died 3 weeks ago and I just buried her last week so if you want to be less cruel in your response, I'd appreciate that.
So I've paid my taxes on time, in full for 39 years. This year, for the past 4 months, my mom has been slowly dying in the hospital from metastatic pancreatic / lung cancer and passed 3 weeks ago.
Needless to say, I was not in the headspace to sit down and do my taxes. I eventually gathered enough documents mid-April to submit to an accountant and understandably he said there's no way to do it before the deadline. Fine.
As I said, I've never had a late payment before so I assumed (wrongly) that there might be an automatic extension I could apply for (like in the US) for bereavement purposes, or that I could pre-pay a certain amount that would lessen my penalties enough (which is what I did, and I still owe more), or that I could at least immediately apply for relief and have it be decided within a month or two before I pay the actual balance less fees/interest.
But no. I just talked to a very sarcastic and unsympathetic agent on the phone (when I asked where the tax payer relief section is on the website, she said "I don't know, google it") who told me in no uncertain terms
- There is no automatic extension (I already knew this from googling, but she made sure to tell me as if I were stupid)
- Interest and penalties will accrue even while I file for relief
- Relief judgment will take 6-12 months
- Basically I have to pay in full now with no flexibility or face severe consequences
Listen, I get it. We all have to pay our taxes. I'm not disputing that. I'm also not a millionaire or billionaire. I'm a humble person who makes 5 figures. My mom just died and I had to fly back and forth out of the country to see her at least 4 times in the past few months. There was literally no time to do the taxes. I WANT to pay my taxes but I do not want to be severely punished for doing it a month late because of extenuating circumstances.
WHY is the Canadian tax system so punitive to people like me (yet, I'm sure, allow rich and corporate tax avoidance to the tune of tens of billions go on unpunished)?
My thumb really does not enjoy swiping around like crazy to tap every team member so frequently, especially since my over world default view tends to be quite zoomed in whenever I open the app
If folks think even more clutter in the UI isn't good, then they should implement something (quite elegant but hidden) like in pogo where you can double tap swipe up/swipe down to zoom in and out. Good for one-handed play!
I guess the devs don't want to zoom out too much on portrait mode (and refuse to give us landscape mode) so even just a little more zoom out would be appreciated.
I'm ready to get totally clowned on here but honestly how do you count. So far I've been making do with vibe "counting" (getting used to match ups and know the opponent will reach a move at the same time as me so I know when to catch, try for CMP etc.) but I always get hard stuck around mid-Veteran and would like to be able to break through this barrier. I feel like I have the general skill and lots of good IV meta mons so counting is what's holding me back.
I've had my pro friends explain it to me irl and obviously I get the general concept of it but I'm a dumdum when it comes to math (especially mental math) so my brain short circuits when I have to start factoring in all the different turn type moves. (This is especially why I hate going against Incincerate users lol). Sidenote is that the mental math on the fly element is why I always tell people who talk down on pogo PVP that it requires a lot of skill (a different type of skill, obviously, from like VGC).
Anyway, is there a super simple ELI5 for dumb people method for counting that doesn't require you to do constant mental math on the fly? Or am I just cursed to never get counting?
I tried Catch Cup but I don't have anything worth building or running that I caught this season... and I've been playing Guinea Pig Cup since it launched but the past 2 days have been insanely laggy, like 3/5 sets have frozen to where even closing and reopening the app doesn't help and I'm forced to take the loss.
So now I'm being forced to play ML. And frankly it's kinda fun because I'm busting out my bb Meloetta and it's catching a lot of people off guard :) (only ACE ELO before you ask)
