I feel so embarrassed wearing ear protection

I’m one of those people who find everything embarrassing im 16 and was diagnosed last year. I HATE loud noises and often they can lead to meltdowns. I have issues with the vacuum, the toilet flushing and even the lawn mower outside makes me upset.

I get so embarrassed about wearing any kind of ear protection. I feel like people associate headphones with autism and I feel so embarrassed by that. I’m not the “typical autistic type” I mask very heavily and I promise I don’t mean to be mean at all to other other autistic people but there’s unfortunately a stereotype like “hazbin hotel, tadc, anime fans” one of my special interest is anime btw

And it sucks that there’s a stereotype but because there’s a stereotype people don’t necessarily take me as seriously if that makes sense? Think of holly Maddison (play boy bunny girl). I’m very girly and I like to present myself in a certain way.

So when I’m having trouble like with nosies, safe foods, conversations I tend to like get really embarrassed. If I could I’d wear like 10 headphones. I just feel so embarrassed and uncomfortable ☹️☹️☹️

Parent is ND and it’s horrible for me

So my dad has ADD, I have autism, my brother has a lot of ADD traits, my mom has a few ADHD traits, my uncle has autism and my cousin has ADHD.

I don’t get along with my dad. I don’t know much about add/adhd so if you guys can help me understand that would be good.

He is the reason I don’t want kids. I feel I can’t be ND and have a healthy relationship with my kids. His meltdowns are insane. We call them “blowups” but I believe they are related to add?

He has EXTREME anger issues. Anything will set him off. I was diagnosed with ptsd when I was 5 I have major issues with the sound of dishes clinking in the sink due to him. He’s extremely emotionally abusive and even worse verbally abusive.

My mom wants to divorce him but she’s scared of him. I’ve made a bunch of posts in the past I’ll put down below if you want to read them to get some background info.

But basically i graduated 2 years early (I did it so I can leave my house and go to the dorms to not be at home) I got my diploma in the mail and I was super excited! He was sitting on the couch my mom opened it with me and I tried to show him but he just turned his head away and closed his eyes. Why isn’t he proud of me? Why doesn’t he like me? I can’t stand to be around him and the day will become 10x worse if he’s around.

My mom said this bra was my size and wouldn’t stop saying it’s my size ..

I can’t add a picture unfortunately 💔

I’m a 32B/32C (sister sizes) below it is a 38C. I just got fitted for my 1st real good bra at 17 yesterday at VS. She’s always making me feel so insecure. I used to only wear sports bras because I was uncomfortable with having boobs my mom even thought I was trans. I’m definitely not I enjoy being a girl a lot. She would say my boobs looked smashed down because I would wear tight sports bras.

Recently a couple months ago I decided to get my real first underwire bra I just got one off of Amazon and they only had small medium and large so I got 3 bras in size small and it fit perfectly fine. She saw one of the bras on the floor and said that that bra was way too small, and I told her that it fit me perfectly fine she wouldn’t give up on it.

My mom is short (5’4) and has small feet (size 7), I am tall (5’7) and have normal size feet (9) she is however overweight I’m not sure exactly what number but I believe 170lbs? I am 140lbs. She had breast cancer in the past and had to get them cut off but now has implants. She was going to get a bra Victoria’s Secret too, however she said that she usually cries every time she gets a bra.

She always says how huge I am (height wise) and how big of a foot I have and always tries to compare our hand sizes and even lies to family members about my sizes saying I’m a size 10 in shoes?

She takes my clothes (mind you she doesn’t fit in them at all!!) she even took my home homecoming dress because she wanted to wear it dinner that hoco dress was a size small and was from shein so the fabric was horrible too and had no stretch mind you. She always plays around and says “oh I’m so skinny oh we’re the same size” and even gets my brother to say it too.

I know she’s just projecting her own insecurities.

I got in trouble for not liking my dad

I don’t like my dad. He makes me uncomfortable to be around. He is ND too. He’s been verbally abusing me and my mom and brother since I was born. My mom came into my room to ask something then my dad came in for no reason and just stood in my room and wouldn’t leave

I asked very kindly and calmly “can you get out please?” And my mom got mad at that and said I wasn’t allowed to talk to him like that. Despite the way he talks to us I think asking him to leave is the least bad thing I could have said. I was diagnosed with PTSD when I was 5. I can’t be around the sound of dishes clinking in the sink it makes me really upset and I’ll cry even.

My mom is scared of him too. During his anger blowups she hides in my room. He doesn’t have a job however controls all the finances and my mom has to ask him to spend her own money.

Was this a social cue thing? How could i avoided this?

Trouble with counts

Hello i’ve been Skating for about seven years now, but I’m new to ice dance and I’ve started working on my Dutch waltz, canasta tango and rhythm blues. However, I can’t feel life of me understand the counts. I know Dutch waltz is a six count and canasta tango as a four count. However, when I’m counting in my head it makes me skate slow. I can go a lot quicker however I don’t understand how I can without messing up the counts? If it’s a six count and I’m saying my head 1-2-3-4-5-6 then I’m going to go slower? If I speed up then Im doing the counts wrong apparently? I don’t understand 🥲

Recent hospital visit

So I’m about to be 17. I’ve been really meaning to get a colonoscopy for the past three months. About three months ago, I was having anal bleeding and I went to the hospital for it. They told me I was internally bleeding from my small intestine and they gave me some antibiotics and I was fine. However, they told me that I need to get a colonoscopy because I might have Crohn’s and I think that honestly makes a lot of sense.

For the longest time, I thought I’ve had IBS because my Nana has it as well. My stomach issues have been crazy ever since I was a kid. If I eat my stomach hurts, if I don’t eat my stomach hurts. We thought I had a gluten allergy and so I got tested for it when I was like 10 and they said that I didn’t have a gluten allergy. It will be the most random food I’ll eat in my stomach will hurt so bad I essentially have to take laxatives and poop it out or it will continue to hurt.

So my stomach will be hurting a lot which causes me not to eat, which makes my blood sugar go low and I get super dizzy which is where the diabetes comes in. I have a glucose monitor and I’ve been tracking my blood sugar and it’s been super low.

We don’t have health insurance so I can’t get my colonoscopy done for a little while. I really want this diagnosis because I’m tired of my tummy in pain 24/7. I also have some other health issues, but I don’t think that they’re necessarily related to crohns, I have EDS and diabetes?/anemia? (Need to go to the doctor for that)

No health insurance but lots of issues

Hello I’m 17 and my family doesn’t have health insurance. We aren’t super well off and only my mom works. Her job offers something called a hospital amenity plan which I don’t know much about. I have a sibling too however just me alone these are the thing I need to go for
- colonoscopy
- diabetes
- vertigo/anemia?
- extreme stomach pain which is why I need the colonoscopy because I might have Crohn’s disease
And i’m not sure if dental is separate, but I also really need to go through that too. I have cavities between every single one of my teeth. As well as mental health like therapy. All of us are mentally ill and I desperately need treatment.

And that’s just me alone. It doesn’t look like my dad‘s gonna get a job anytime soon and me and my brother are starting college so that’s a lot of money plus I need a car too. Idk how any of this adult money stuff even works. Is there anything else I can do? I used to be a competitive athlete however I stopped competing due to pain. I’m bed bound on some days.

Boil on my cookie 💔

I’m 16f and it looks like I have a boil or some bump on the outside of my private part. It’s very tender too. I would go to a doctor however we don’t have health insurance. I’ve been having issues with my vagina since I started puberty when I was 12. There’s so much more issues I have down there but I’m just mainly worried about the boil. We can’t afford a lot right now, unfortunately

Cheap tablet for notes?

Hello I’m about to start college in about a month. I’m a a biology major and I know for a fact a iPad/tablet would be good for notes. I have a MacBook but are there any good cheaper suggestions for something like a iPad for notes?

Anyone know of dyscalcuila specific tutors?

It is my dream to be an optometrist. Dyscal has made this hard for me. I’m about to start my freshman year of college and I can’t do basic algebra math. I am a bio major so not a lot of math but I still have to take some.

I’ve done some google searches and has anyone done like zoom tutors? Like tutors who specialize in people with disabilities like dyslexia and dyscalculia.

I’m embarrassed to ask for help I’ve always been embarrassed to ask for help with school work. But I need these math classes to succeed. I’m thinking I can take 2-3x a week zoom classes with one of these specialized tutors and hopefully that can help?

I know people say to go to your prof’s office hours but most of them dont understand dyscalculia :/

I’m looking into dyscalcuila..

Let me say 1st off I don’t mean to like offend anybody I want to get an actual diagnosis and I want to see if this is something i actually have and if I don’t have it I’m okay with it !

So I do have professionally diagnosed autism, anxiety, depression, ocd and ptsd.

I was pretty smart for a preschooler. I went into kindergarten a year early. I remember in preschool I could read and spell my name. However once 2nd great hit, I started getting Cs and Ds and it kept going till about 7th grade. Where I did online school and I would try to do the math except I would have such horrible meltdowns I ended up looking everything up in math. (I’m not proud of it..)

I did have a 504 and IEP my whole entire life. Even with most of my math classes, I had a lot of accommodations so that they would be able to help me pass. The only reason I passed math in high school was because my teacher would take me to a separate room to test and put some helpful hints and math formulas to remember on the whiteboard.

I have Severe difficulty remembering math even after studying for days. I lose track of the steps in math problem, English is much easier than math, I say numbers in my head differently, I have a long history of needing accommodations and Ive had this struggle that started in elementary school and have continued into college.

I decided to take college math online to get a math credit. I studied for days and when I decided to do some practice problems, I couldn’t answer them at all because I didn’t remember anything despite doing all this work. And maybe that’s performance anxiety idk.

Maybe I’m just bad at math? but If I do have it I would like to get a diagnosis when I’m young and at the start of my college schooling. Any helpful advice would help

I’m taking a MAT 117 midterm im freaking out

It’s with honor lock btw..

I have dyscalculia, anxiety and autism (which makes me frustrated when I can’t get something down)

I’m starting my freshman year of college in about two months and to not take the entrance exam to see if you’re ready for college math I decided to take an ASU math course. And it’s proctored by freaking honorlock..

I can learn material really easy by example problems. I’m able to just plug in the numbers for those example problems however you can’t have those on the tests and I have extreme memory issues I won’t remember every little formula.

I need to take the midterm test this week ish and I can only take it two times and I need a 75 to pass the class. So preferably I’d wanna get over a 40% on the midterm. I feel that won’t happen I’m scared and I feel dumb I can’t understand anything without notes.

In high school I had accommodations to where I was allowed to have notes. I had one teacher pulled me out during every test and she would write example problems on the board so I could plug the numbers in.

I know college most professors won’t let me have notes. This is just a big change for me. Also for my major i don’t need math..

Can’t recommend a 3ds enough

This thing has saved me from so many public meltdowns/overload. Even if you don’t like to play video games get a 3ds omg I love mine. I’ve modded movies, books and music on there and it’s so portable you can bring it anywhere. I’d definitely recommend. Video games are a special interest for me but there’s so much you can do on there it’s perfect sensory tool🦄🪽
