Dealer deemed unsafe to drive 2007 Honda CRV Rust

My little brother purchased a 2007 Honda CRV, Clean Title, 147,000 miles from a guy on Craigslist. He messed up and didn’t get a pre purchase inspection, turns out it was driven in Illinois and Massachusetts for around 17 years and is a bit of a rust bucket.

We took it to Honda to do the recall and they successfully installed the braces but deemed it unsafe to drive during their inspection due to heavy rust. We’re in Tennessee, you guys think the dealer techs are being extreme or is it cooked?

are we devolving to fake car enthusiasts ?

i see too many posts with Supercars and a lot of comments praising them and everytime you say something negative about them you get downvoted

when we started we were only the true car enthusiasts no supercars no downvotes no drama wish we would go back as where we started because this was our purpose when we appreciated cars like the Renault Twingo Fiat Panda etc etc

we need to get as we started !!! we aren't instagram
