Could someone replace my daughter’s face/head in the family picture with this other solo picture?

It’s the only recent photo we have as a family. If it’s post do this, I’d be so happy! 🫶🏻

6M, is this stimming?

My son just turned 6 in April. For the last 2 years or so, he has done these hand motions when excited. He didn’t do them as a toddler, though. He more so did whole body movements, and I figured it was just him being a hyperactive toddler, like most of them are. He also has issues with chewing on his clothes or other objects. He’s a very picky eater, I’m trying to get him therapy for it. He has maybe 6 foods he rotes through and will cry and gag and sometimes throw up if we have him try a new food. I also chose to leave the sound on the videos, if it helps. (He put some bugs in his pocket at school and brought them home, he also does this with rocks or other items he likes from the playground). Also the last video you can hear him talk and trail off and not finish his sentence, which he does a lot. He had some behavior problems in Pre-K and K, and was in behavioral therapy in Pre-K. He has been in speech therapy for about a year. He has a very large vocabulary and is a very smart and inquisitive kid, but he has articulation issues. He was speech delayed, but caught up at 4. He also either ignores me or literally just doesn’t hear me when I call him name about 40% of the time I try and talk to him. His ears are fine and he can hear perfectly. He also started laughing for no reason when we ask him questions. No idea why, I think maybe he’s nervous? He also recently had to get stitches in his forehead and seems to not really be that scared when he got them.. then later at 3am, came to me to get a bandaid bc he picked his stitches out! He’s always been quick to bounce back after getting hurt, but this blew my mind.

All 3 of my kids have been speech delayed. All of them seem like they’re on the spectrum in some way. I have a hard time distinguishing what is normal or not, because I believed a lot of things myself and my family has done, were normal. I was diagnosed at 32 with AuDHD. I’m the only one in my family that is diagnosed Autism, but no one else has even been evaluated. One of my brothers was diagnosed with ADHD as a teen, but they didn’t check for autism, which they should have. He used to bang his head on the floor and walls, throw horrible “fits” has sensory issues and was later put in a mental hospital where they diagnosed him with ADHD, ODD, OCD and anxiety. My older sister also was put in a mental hospital for severe depression and suicidal ideation. She also has classic symptoms of autism, but has never been diagnosed.

All of this to say, sometimes I doubt my ability to be subjective. I don’t want to just assume one or all of my kids are neurodivergent. I know it runs in families. But, I flew under the radar and I don’t want my kids to grow up knowing they were different but not know why or how. I’d like to get them help, and where I live, it’s a long wait list to be evaluated. Any advice is welcome. Thank you!

TL;DR: I have AuDHD, diagnosed last year at 32. I don’t want my kids to fly under the radar like I did. But I also want to be subjective and have others thoughts and opinions on my kids behaviors:

possible stimming, picky eating, sucking in shirt and sometimes arm, behavior issues like not listening or following directions, speech delay, trails off when speaking, high pain tolerance.

EDIT TO ADD: My husband is suspected neurodivergent as well, but has a high IQ and was always told that his issues were because of that. My oldest two kids are showing signs of being like him as well. Idk if that is important but figured I’d add it.

AIO to withhold my kids from my MIL until she clears out her apartment?

My MIL has always been a pack rat. Her husband kept it from getting too bad, but he unfortunately passed away 4 years ago. She has gradually moved in more and more stuff. In January of 2025, she had surgery to remove cancer in her mouth, and this has left her partially disfigured in her jaw area and neck. She kept the place nice and pretty organized for a while, still cluttered but nothing too crazy or concerning. The last time we were at her house was maybe 6-8 months ago. Since then, she has been coming to our place to pick up our kids and take them home with her to stay the weekend. We have been fine with this, since they love her and she loves them and I feel like she needs the company as well. She doesn’t work, and is living off of inheritance. She also has a gambling problem. Once her Dr. told her to get more exercise, she decided that shopping counts as exercise. This is why she wants to pick them up, she’s always in our town because we have a lot of the places she shops (we live 40 minutes away in a bigger town). We knew she was shopping more, and gambling, so my husband and his sister have been talking to her about wasting her money and she is losing what she has left, fast. She buys things we don’t want or need, then gets mad when we get rid of it or refuse to take it. Any time they talk to her about this, she cries and hangs up. Obviously, I know she is going through a rough time. We have tried getting her help, and talking to her, but she refuses. Her sister lives below her, and is actually much worse than she is, and I feel like they enable each other to be this way. If I had known her place had gotten this bad, I wouldn’t have let my kids stay with her. I don’t want them to be there, to me, it’s is NOT healthy nor safe to be in that environment. I’ve tried withholding our kids before, and she threw a huge fit and said she would take us to court if we did. My husband laughed and said good luck. They fought for almost a year before they started getting along again. I would prefer for all of that to not happen again, since a lot of his family got upset with us. I feel bad that she is this way. I hate upsetting people. But I don’t want my kids in that mess and I’m hoping that maybe it would give her some incentive to clean up?..

EDIT TO ADD: This is how a lot of my husband’s family lives, my husband grew up in a similar situation, but not this bad bc of his dad not allowing it to get too far. He does offer help to his mom, but she only wants him to help taking more things in. Any time we try and help her or talk to her about cleaning or organizing or whatever, she says no. Not because she’s embarrassed, but because she sees nothing wrong with living that way. When she worked, she didn’t have time to go shopping every day to get to this point. That is the only reason why she kept the place decent after my FILs passing. The last time I withheld the kids, was bc I found out she was drinking while they were there, and smoking in the home when she knew we didn’t want her to. She refused to stop, so we said no more. We have recommended multiple types of help to her, but she always refuses. I’m not doing this to shame her, she doesn’t even know what Reddit is. I posted these pictures to give a visual to the situation, since everyone’s person view or opinion on what hoarding looks like differs. I did see roaches and other bugs. She doesn’t clean where things are, just the places she can walk or sit. Other than her face and neck, she is physically fine. She is able to clean and move things. We told her the place looked dirty, she said it wasn’t. We are going to try and talk to her again and offer her more help, but I honestly don’t think she will accept it. I don’t mind her coming over and seeing the kids. I don’t know how else to help her if she refuses to be helped. Maybe some commenters are right on the withholding, but I was hoping maybe it would give her some kind of reality check.

Brother upset for me getting my 6M stitches. He said they should have glued it and now he will have an ugly, permanent scar?

6M, 53lbs and 3’ 9” tall. No known health issues. My toddler hit him on the head with a toy, he ran to me crying with blood everywhere. I took him to urgent care and they put two stitches in. He did well, even tho he was scared he didn’t cry or even whimper so I don’t think he’s traumatized or anything. He’s acting like nothing happened now. I showed my brother who then said they could’ve just glued it and avoided an ugly scar. An NP did the stitches, and now I feel bad that he may have scar that could’ve been smaller.

Is this what overstimulation looks like?

I’ve tried stimulants off and on, mostly since my dx in November, but had my pcp put me on it before and then I quit bc of the side effects. I’ve tried, in order: methylphenidate 10mg, methylphenidate 18mg ER, lisdexamfetamine 10mg, and 30mg, and I’m now on amphetamine-dextroamphetamine 10mg 2x a day. My pcp put me on the first bc I had a long history of psychiatrists noting I had adhd like symptoms but never had an official diagnosis or treatment. When I got a psych evaluation last year, I then decided to try stimulants again bc my issues have severely affected my life and I need to be able to function.

All but the lisdexamfetamine 30mg make me feel, what I assume, is overstimulated. I feel overwhelmed very often bc I’m a SAHM of 3 kids. But the overstimulation is kind of new to me, at least at this level. I also kind of feel like this when energy drinks wear off and I need to eat to make it stop. The only reason why I switched to a different stimulant, is because I felt like some days when I took it, it didn’t work. Like literally felt no different.

The *closest* thing I can compare it to, is like being mildly electric shocked through my entire body. It’s not painful, but it’s like every nerve becomes very sensitive to sound and touch. I also hear a ringing in my ears and like there’s pressure in them. Any uncomfortable touch I normally feel and can ignore, becomes amplified. E.g, I was just trying to do the dishes. I normally wear long gloves, but sometimes water still gets in my upper arms. It bugs me usually, but I can mostly ignore it or wipe it off and it doesn’t affect me much. But it happened and i almost screamed and wanted to rip off my gloves and claw at my arm. This happened a few times and i finally gave up. I also had my hair up, but a fly away or something help touching my face and I legit freaked out, took my gloves off and started combing my hair forcefully with my fingers to get my hair back into place. This is just a small sample of the many things that happens to me and how I feel and react when I have this overstimulation.

I hate feeling like this and I want to stop taking the stimulants. They help with focus and motivation, but I hate how some of them make me feel like this, and it negatively affects my family and relationships. Idk what to do.

Anyone else constantly flex their feet up or put pressure on them constantly while sitting?

I’ve done this for a long time. It doesn’t hurt or anything and I don’t get cramps from it. I notice I do it a lot more when I’m stressed and overstimulated. Usually I either do this or sit in some way that puts pressure on my legs i.e, bitting on them or have my legs to my chest. My husband pokes fun at me for it, says I sit like a child. I did get in trouble at school often for sitting like this in my chair.

Unpredictable menstrual cycle, 22-30 day cycles. Normal? 32F 3yrs PP, 8mo weaned.

I’m 32F, my daughter just turned 3, and she was weaned in October of 2025. I had a uterine ablation done in April of 2025 because I was bleeding for 2 weeks out of the month. I now spot lightly for about a week. My cycles last anywhere from 22-30 days. I’m not sure if this is normal. I also get burning pain, like a UTI, right before my period every month. This has always happened previously, went away during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but has now started back a few cycles ago. My mother told me this happened with her cycles and she now takes D-Mannose for it. I started taking it a week ago, but wanted to ask about it as well. I had my thyroid hormones tested, as well as a PCOS panel, and they’re both normal.

Thumb tendon pain, having a hard time finishing projects. Crocheting “wrong” for 15 years??

Basically, when I crochet, I rotate/spin the hook between my thumb and pointer/middle finger. I’ve had a *small* crochet side gig for a few years now. I don’t get many orders, especially this year, so I haven’t had too many things to make. I do have two orders right now. The pain comes and goes, but recently it’s been more persistent. It’s gotten to where other everyday tasks are painful, even just driving or picking up my tumbler for a drink. I’m only 32 and I feel like I’m way too young to be dealing with this pain lol. I’ve tried adjusting my grip and how I hold the hook, but it’s so awkward and doesn’t feel right especially with the tension. Pain meds don’t really help either. Any advice? Thanks!

Previous tenants lets animals pee in the garage. Idk what to do or how to remove this awful smell. (AR)

We moved here in med march, when the weather was still pretty cool. We didn’t notice the staining, let alone the smell. It now smells so freaking bad in the garage, and I’m afraid the smell is going to be permanent in my items we store out there. My landlord won’t fix it. What do I do??

32M, husband initiating sex while asleep, is this normal?

My husband is 32, 5’ 11”, about 240lbs. Sometimes his BP is high, but hasn’t been diagnosed with anything medically, has never had surgery, and doesn’t take medications.

We are both 32, we have 3 kids age 9, 6, 3. We have been together for 15 years, married for 9. We rarely get a nights sleep together without a kid in our bed, last night was the first time in… quite a while. I also fell asleep cuddling to him, with my leg on his legs and my head on his chest, his arm under me. This never happens, maybe a handful of times since we got together. I’m a very light sleeper, I sleep with ear plugs in, and still, any little noise or movement wakes me up. My husband is the exact opposite. He occasionally sleep talks or (very rarely) walks, as well as sometimes having sleep paralysis and seeing scary things if he opens his eyes.

Last night, we went to bed late. I did give him oral sex before bed. We fell asleep and about an hour later, I’m awoken to him kissing my lips. I was in a daze, but enjoyed it, so I continued. He put my hand on his penis and he was hard, he took his shorts and underwear off. I joking said “I can’t believe you’re hard again after getting a bj”, and he didn’t respond. At that point, I knew he was asleep. So, I stopped and said his name, he didn’t respond and immediately started snoring. I laid there for a bit, thinking about what just happened, then fell back asleep. This morning, I asked him if he remembered anything from last night, and he said no, but that he was wondering why he woke up naked.

This has never happened in our 15 years of being together. Is it just a part of the sleep issues he has? Is this something that should be concerning to us? Thank you.

Anyone else get dumping syndrome after removal?

I had my gallbladder out in 2019. I think I now have dumping syndrome. Sometimes it happens no matter what I eat, but mostly it happens when I eat anything that’s greasy, fatty, sugary, caffeine, also alcohol really messes me up for days. It usually happens either after breakfast or lunch, and most of the time only once a day. My dr gave me Cholestyramine, which helps, but it constipates me and doesn’t help completely. I still get the racing heart, anxiety, irritability etc, and I also usually still have a bowel movement, it’s just not diarrhea like normal. I don’t think that really treat’s dumping syndrome, so I’m thinking about asking my pcp for a referral to a gastroenterologist. This negatively affects my every day life. I’ve been dealing with this for so long, and at this point, I really need something to work better for me.

My family of 5 are driving to Jacksonville FL soon. Any advice on a good mid-way stopping point to stay the night?

We live in northwest Arkansas. We don’t want to fly, and a 16+ hour trip will be a nightmare with 3 kids. Any halfway points that are fun and family friendly? Thanks!!

Anyone else deal with burning urination right before period? (Not asking for medical advice)

It’s a bit embarrassing. Does anyone else have burning when urinating right before their period? I’m not asking for advice, I’m just curious if anyone else has noticed this? It happened before I was on birth control as a teen, now that I’m not on anything and done having kids, it’s come back, but worse. Drs. used to tell me it’s a UTI, but there’s no way. It happens every time my period is about to start. I stopped asking my drs about it because they would just say to drink more water and or go back on birth control since that helped. I just want to know if I’m alone in this or if I’m just crazy.

I’m at my wits end.

We moved into this place almost 2 months ago. The ants have gotten worse and worse. I have killed three colonies in the yard by pouring boiling water with dish soap on them. There are no more ants or hills there. Idk if they just moved or what. I think they are also in the walls. One rooms window sill had an infestation and even larvae/eggs. They are inside every room. We have had ant bait out, I spray a mixture of water, dish soap, hydrogen peroxide and alcohol on them and their trails but they’re coming back. I can’t find any more hills or colonies outside. I know I need to let the bait do its job, but it’s been months. We are trying a new type of bait. Our land lord is a chap ass and won’t call an exterminator. I live in Arkansas, there are no renters rights here. Any advice is welcome.

I’m 32F. I’ve had burning when urinating and shortly after as well, before my period starts. I remember this happened a lot as a teen when I was on the combination pill. I’ve been pregnant or breastfeeding pretty much my entire adulthood, so since I’m almost 3 years PP, I guess it has returned. Im not in any birth control now. I had a uterine ablation in April 2025. It’s happening right now, and my period is due to start in a week. I don’t have any other symptoms.

I’m a small business, just me and my crochet hook. Someone must’ve not liked something I liked/commented on and decided to try and trash my business. And no, this absolutely is not true. I’ve tried reporting it many, many times, and nothing is happening.
