The guy who broke his own agency’s protocol to announce an investigation into Hillary Clinton and then scolded her publicly like he was her father when he didn’t have enough to charge her. He then twisted the knife by reopening said failed investigation a week before the election. All while keeping the investigations into Trump a tight secret. Then Comey reaps what he sows when he switches back to caring about the rules with Trump, who fired him, making him a supposedly tragic martyr played by Jeff Daniels in the TV miniseries.

Screw him and I hope the legal fees bankrupt him. Yeah, I’m still angry.

I read these at my local library either in the nineties or oughts.

There are only two plot points I really recall: A worker contracts an STD and is looking to get an antibiotic. I believe his distracted work helps lead to the other one; in the climax a massive Saturn V style rocket blows up on the launch pad with the force of a small nuclear explosion. One of the main characters is hit by the blast wave but lives. I believe the astronauts also survived via a rocket emergency escape system.

There are survivors but also many are left serverly brain damaged from oxygen deprivation. Airline executives, realizing the cost of long term care for the injured would be ruinous compared to a simple death payout, plot to bring the aircraft down.
