As a person with autism, what would you recommend for someone like me?

So you see recently i got a job working as a Kitchen Aid (Yes I know what your going to say but being around food doesn't mean I know what to do with it at home!) and as a person with Autism cooking for myself is so complicated for me! I live with my parents, and up until now they've basically been my personal chefs. But life has other plans as well, you see my mom's working now, and while my dad helps when he can (Because he's retired) he also has his own life too. My boss sometimes gives me some food because she doesn't have her restaurant yet and I'm just working through her house, which I appreciate. But I don't want to just survive on other people's kindness forever, especially her once she gets the restaurant and things will be harder. I want to actually know and learn how to feed myself, here's the problem i encounter though every time I try to figure out how to cook though.

Whenever i try to do research on trying to find something, i just don't know what to find and its such a struggle for me because i don't have the foundation or any guidance to help me! But then theirs the problems with the instructions which are either way too vague or written like a novel, i don't need a whole block of text i just need to know what to do with the pan. On top of that i don't have a car, so if a recipe wants 12 specialty ingredients from three different stores I'm not going to be able to do anything at this point. I've even tried cooking apps too, and most of them have the same problem with them being complicated, cluttered, and built for people who already know what they're doing. I'm not trying to become a five-star chef, I just want simple, no-nonsense recipes that assume I'm starting from zero, with stuff can actually get, and something that doesn't make me scroll through my own life story to get to "add salt." I know i won't be perfect chef right away, nobody is, but i actually want to learn instead of relying on everyone else forever. So does anyone know a website, app, or anything built for actual beginners that keeps it simple? Because I'm tired of feeling like I'm shouting into the void here especially with something simple as this!

Is this game worth playing?

So i don't know if this game "Dungeons of Blood and Dream" is a boomer shooter or a classic RPG first person game. But i decided to ask here anyway because I've always gotten great recommendations and discussions! Anyway i want to ask is this game worth it, I've played and seen allot of Retro style or just Retro games in general and this one looks very unique and the reviews are positive. But is it worth buying? Because i don't want another game where Ill get bored the first 25 minutes, like I've come across so many games that look cool but are so hollow underneath. So is this game even worth playing?

Chef Pepe Quits 7 was actually amazing and very unexpected!

So recently i watched Chef Pepe Quits 7 because my favorite reactor for SML called "Quamax" never reviewed it. Let me tell you no offense against Logan but allot of his videos have been.... very toxic and while allot of people already know that. I wasn't expecting this to be that good, i thought this was going to be another continuation of Chef Pepe Quits but no! First of all it actually felt like the older videos, and especially the ending was very sweet to be honest. I don't know if i should be proud or not because of how fast the video was, but besides that, it was amazing! I don't know how i miss this, its probably because whenever i watch a new SML i always watch Quamax because he makes the videos funnier to my opinion. But yeah, i really liked this and i highly suggest others to watch this as well!

IIL Dungeon Synth, what is the sci-fi equivalent?

I've been listening to Dungeon Synth for years (ever since the era of Covid because thats when i got into things i didn't know existed, and where i started to seek my purpose in life) and I've asked a similar question before, but I don't think I explained what I'm looking for very well. Despite my love for fantasy, i also am a huge sci-fi nerd and I've always wondered if there's a genre that does for science fiction what Dungeon Synth does for fantasy. A lot of the "sci-fi" music that I come across tends to fall into a few categories, its either ambient music (like what Cryo Chamber Produces), metal, or more electronic/edm or whatever music. There's nothing wrong with those, but that's not quite what I'm looking for. What I love about Dungeon Synth is how much it can evoke an entire fictional world, especially a novel, through the music itself.

It can either sound like the sound of a world (Wether its created by the creator like Erang creating their own world through music or something based on Novels, Artwork, etc.) or it can sound like inspiration! There are also tons of different approaches within the genre. So I'm wondering if there's something similar for science fiction because i believe Science Fiction matters too! Especially stuff like Gene Wolfe, Hyperion, The Forever War, John Carter, Warhammer 40K, classic pulp sci-fi, Becky Chambers, and older sci-fi movies/media like Terminator, The Fifth Element, Star Wars, Stargate, etc. I know there's a Star Wars Dungeon Synth album, but I'm not really looking for Star Wars specifically. I'm more interested in that broader idea of using music to create and explore a science-fiction world, in the same way Dungeon Synth can create a sense of fantasy.

To be clear, I'm not just looking for music that sounds futuristic or has a "spacey" vibe. I'm more interested in whether there's a particular genre or whatever that approaches science fiction in the way Dungeon Synth approaches fantasy. Does anything like that exist? Or are there specific artists/albums I should check out? I've been trying to find something like this for a while, and I haven't had much luck.

I’m looking for a way to edit older Character.ai messages without rewinding them, does that even exist?

So I mostly roleplay on Character.ai because to me it’s the best place I’ve found for creating small, unique stories when I’m not working on my fantasy novel (Which is something much more personal and complex that I’ve been building for a long time). But theirs one problem I have, you see everyone knows that once a message is sent, the only way to fix it is by rewinding.

Which is annoying especially when I’m already deep into a scene or moment I like! This usually happens when I end up with responses that are too long (either my own writing or AI-generated parts I didn’t edit properly) or ideas that I thought looked great at first but they were terrible but because I’m far into the story/rp oh well! I also use CAI Tools an extension that lets me export chat messages to .txt or HTML so I can review them or get outside feedback, but that doesn’t let me actually edit the messages back on the site.

Is there any extension, tool, or method that lets you edit older Character.AI messages without having to rewind the whole conversation? Like it’s 2026 and I still haven’t found a resolution to this issue!

There was once an Original Fan-Made Theme Song for 007: First Light, What Happened to It?

Okay, so before 007: First Light came out, I remember finding an original fan-made song on YouTube that was inspired by the game. It sounded like an old-school James Bond theme, and I remember really liking it at the time. From what i remembered, it wasn't anything huge and i I think it had around 20k views at the time, maybe more or less. The singer sounded so much like an actual Bond theme singer that I was genuinely surprised it wasn't more popular.

But the problem now is that I can't find it anywhere! From what I remember, the title wasn't anything fancy and the video itself was extremely simple. I think the thumbnail and the video itself was just a picture of 007: First Light with the guy singing in the background, no elaborate editing or effects. I've tried searching YouTube and Google multiple times, but I can't seem to track it down. Does anyone else remember this song, or know what happened to it? Was it possibly taken down because of a copyright/cease-and-desist, or did the creator just delete it? Any help finding it would be greatly appreciated.

Why do you guys still play PG3D?

Despite all the changes over the years such as the controversies, and honestly a lot of frustrating stuff, I still play PG3D for a few reasons. The obvious one is childhood which is true for pretty much everyone who still plays. But the bigger reason is that it's one of the only mobile games that actually feels like a game and not a toxic building sim or some hype-chasing cash grab. When people hear "mobile game" they don't picture something actually playable, PG3D still is however. While it is true that it's got its own greed and money problems like every game does, it's not out here doing "OMG it's COD but on MOBILE" gimmicks either. It's just its own creative thing. It's also not one of those games built around tribal gatekeeping, you don't have to agree with someone's whole worldview to enjoy playing with them. The weapon designs are also one of the most creative things I've ever seen, and as a fantasy/sci fi writer some of these have even inspired me to create my own weapons!

It's rough around the edges, but it's still fun and there are no ads shoving themselves in your face every five minutes. But probably my favorite part is that theirs no mic culture. I don't mind voice chat in games in general, but when the whole game revolves around it, you end up dealing with some kid roasting you nonstop. PG3D is just typing, which keeps things focused and while it's a little annoying to type on iPhone. That's a small price to pay for skipping the toxicity most multiplayer games come with. Not to mention that its one of those games that despite all the trend chasing, it didn't go the same route as many childhood games went which I'm very happy about. ALSO THE PETS ARE SO CUTE, AND THE ARMOR AND SKINS ARE AWESOME! But what do you like about PG3D and why do you still play it?

What are some actual good sci fi about time travel?

So my dad is very new to Fantasy and Sci Fi books and I wanted to ask what you recommend for someone like him? He’s never read a fantasy or Sci Fi book ever and he’s gotten curious recently because of the odyssey movie and someone told him the odyssey book is better. Anyway his question made me curious as well and I wondered is their any good and unique stories about time travel?

I always thought sci fi books mostly leaned towards space opera, or complex adventures of exploring worlds and societies and such. But what do you think? I want to avoid stuff like doctor who or infinity ring, because I mean everyone knows about and it’s not really what I’m looking for.

Has anyone understood Erang’s story behind the song “The Dumbest Life 2023”?

I was recently looking at the album “A Blaze In Time” amazing and beautiful album btw Erang. But one song that I never understood was the dumbest life, now I can’t tell if this is talking about Covid or if it’s mentioning something else? I’ve never understood this song and why it’s so sci fi and space themed, it’s an amazing song, but I don’t get the story behind it?

I'm looking Club, Group, or Just People to Connect with in El Paso?

The El Paso subreddit wouldn't let me ask this question, and if you guys know of any better places please let me know. Anyway i've lived in EL Paso for about 10 years and one of the biggest problem's I've had during my time here is making friends and finding a community where i genuinely feel like I belong. A little bit about me, I'm 24 years old, I'm a follower of Christ (Not religious) and I'm a fantasy nerd and a fantasy writer. I'm into stuff like "The Dark Crystal (Series as a whole not just the movie), Arknights, Fate/FGO, AOT, Kingdom Manga/Anime, The Matrix, Deus Ex, Final Fantasy, Watch Dogs, Dungeon Synth, Conan The Cimmerian, Elric of Melnibone, The Wheel of Time, The Dragon Riders of Pern, Anna Smith Spark, Becky Chambers, Tad Williams, and Robin Hobb."

You don't need to know or understand any of those things, i just mentioned them so you can understand what kind of person i am. What am i am curious about is if there are any clubs, groups, meetups, or communities in El Paso for adults where someone like me can actually meet people and build friendships? I ask this because everytime i leave my job or something like it that keeps me occupied, i find myself wondering what am i supposed to do in my free time. I do try to find things to do but... i need something more, something that involves face to face communication rather than just digital or on the phone all the time.

I've tried seeking clubs but everything i try to find face to face only happens on a certain time or its aimed for kids and younger people, I've also tried going to diability-focused organizations like the disability center but I've gained no friends or at least not real friends that i can talk too and be friends with. I'm not expecting to find a perfect group or person, and i understand El Paso is a big city that for someone like me its hard to navigate around and find something. But their has to something out their? I really want to find something like a club, writing group, hobby group, or even just a regular meetup where people actually talk and get to know each other Because i don't want spend the rest of my life feeling isolated from others, and who knows maybe I'll learn something! If you know anything that might be a good fit for someone like me, I'd really appreciate any type of advice or recommendation. Also if your looking for friends, feel free to reach me out!

Which Jeffy Puppet do you hate the most? (Inside or Outside SML doesn't matter)

I really hate this one from SMLYTP's Jeffy The Imposter (They are a group who does fan made vids of SML not actual YTP's), this also includes all the videos that had this puppet before they figured out this Jeffy was a fake jeffy. I don't know why but this one just creeps me out like why does he look like he has an eye liner, and why is his eyes just bulging out like that, also why did Mario/Marvin not notice this for a few weeks of videos!? I don't know, this one just makes Jeffy look like a creep and this is just one image, watch Jeffy The Imposter and all the normal videos made by them that had this puppet like Jeffy's Lego Gun, Funny Super Bowl Commercials, Jeffy and Scooter's Prank War, and so on. I think all of this happened because of Jeffy's Plastic Surgery video, but yeah...

I know this isn't an official puppet, but now looking at it, the thing creeps me out like we can use this as a horror movie and it would be ten times creepy! But what Jeffy puppet do you hate the most?

What kind of fantasy books do you hate the most?

I feel like the books i hate the most are the overhyped ones (like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Game of Thrones) and the very boring ones that are trying to be cool but can't! But the ones i hate the ones are the very boring ones, for example recently i came across a series i had never actually read until recently (Because i had it in my library) called "The Giftborn Chronicles by Drew Bailey" and lets just say... everything about this book is super sus lets just say that. The profile of the author is sus, the opening is sus, and the whole way the book is written is sus! But the lack of context, lack of world building, lack of purpose really i don't understand... this is one of those books that are like written by people who wanna make something big but lack everything that makes a fantasy book so great.

Its sad really because the cover looks so cool, but the whole plot of Giftborn is so bad that even something as small and simple as Duncan M Hamilton, Jim Butcher, and so much more is way better than this! As for the popular ones, i have my own reasons for not being a fan of it. But I wanted to focus on books like Drew Bailey because I've seen theirs so much trash out their especially in Amazon Kindle and... look nobody needs to be perfect. But when the first few chapters are boring and filled with things that have no context, whats the point? You might as well write a beta book basically filled with ideas and keep them to yourself, you might as RP! At least with roleplaying you have the freedom to change the story however you want! But i don't know, what are the books you hate the most because i already gave my reasoning for hating these!

BTW: If you’re wondering why I don’t like GoT, Harry Potter, or stuff like it. I like stories with adventure and purpose, not people talking for hours. I’m not saying I hate slower stories, and I don’t hate dialogue, but when half the book is just people sitting around talking, I lose interest. Give me momentum or something!

Is their actually any good books that take place in modern times? (No Percy Jackson or Harry Potter stuff please!)

So I was recently looking at “The Last Witch Hunter” and that got me wondering is their more stuff like this? Maybe not the “Guy who has lived through centuries” plot, but like a modern fantasy story that is actually epic and not just Harry Potter or Percy Jackson? I’ve been wondering this for a long time because these types of creations are a very niche genre let’s just say that! I’ve always wondered if theirs stuff like it? What would you guys recommend for someone like me?

Im not really looking for stuff like Wuxia or Martial arts or Harry Potter/Percy Jackson stuff. I’m just looking for a fantasy story that takes place in modern times, a good one and it can be niche too if you want! What do you guys think though?

The Deathgate Cycle is still one of my favorite fantasy books ever, and its unfair how niche it is even in the fantasy books community!

So if you don't know what the Deathgate Cycle is, i don't blame you which is disappointing because its one of the most unique fantasy and sci-fi worlds i have ever seen! I remembered first playing the DOS game based on it, and then finding out that the book is a million times better! So the premise is that these kingdoms are separated into floating islands based on elements. Arianus - the Realm of Air, Pryan - The Realm of Fire, Abarrach - The Realm of Stone, and Chelestra - The Realm of Water. The world was made this way because long ago, two godlike races called the Sartan and the Patryn went to war. The Sartan "won" by literally sundering the entire world into these four separate elemental realms and imprisoning the Patryn in a magical prison dimension called the Labyrinth. So every world you visit across the seven books is a broken shard of what used to be one single Earth, each one screwed up in its own specific way because the Sartan's reality-engineering was rushed and imperfect.

This is when Haplo comes in, he is the only one who escaped the Labyrinth and he was sent out by his lord (Lord Xar) to scout these broken worlds for eventual conquest. While dragging around Alfred, a cowardly, secretly-powerful Sartan who's the literal last of his kind wandering around in disguise. Basically they are two supposed mortal enemies, slowly realizing the war they inherited might be built on a lie and to be honest one of the best odd-couple relationships in fantasy. Anyway, the thing i love about this story so much is the unique worldbuilding and such, it reminded me if Mortal Engines all took place in the sky or something like that. I've never ever seen another fantasy world like it. No offense, but a lot of books I've read lean on the same tropes we've seen a million times and they are mostly built for comfortable, familiar enjoyment rather than doing something genuinely unique or purposeful.

Also this book series is made by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman who made the "Dragonlance Chronicles", but what do you guys think? Because to my opinion, Deathgate is still so unique and i still think this world they made can be properly adapted if we took the time and creativity!

I’ve never actually read the Red Sonya books by Howard are they good?

So we all know that one of the best and most unique characters “Conan” has been abused allot by the media making it more complicated than it already is (A bunch of body builders fighting against each other with swords) or making it bland and boring. But one character that blew my mind was Red Sonya, because of the fact that IT ISNT EVEN A MEDIEVAL STORY!

Marvel or whoever originally created that version did her dirty I swear! So from what I can tell, it’s actually a fantasy story that takes place in 1800s or something like that where a red head woman who fights against various bad guys and is in the middle of some war. I’m sorry I’ve never read the story, and I still don’t get why marvel made this fever dream version of hers just make men goon in their pants 😂

Ok but seriously, are these stories good and what are they like?

What are some AI Tools i can use to create unique, funny, and even complex responses?

So I usually roleplay through Character.ai because it doesn't require a subscription, it isn't as complicated as some other platforms, it doesn't feel like an ad every time I open it, and I can actually create my own RPs and stories without people telling me "oh you don't play DND" or anything like that. I enjoy creating unique stories whenever I'm not working on something personal like my novel or anything like it, but here's the thing. I'm not someone who is good with words and it might be because of my Autism but it could also be a combination of other things. Anyway, sometimes I want certain characters to be complex in a specific way. Not because I'm trying to make the AI itself feel real or human, but because a story only works if the characters in it are written well. Which is the same way a character in a book or movie needs to feel consistent and believable instead of flat. That's a writing problem not an AI-companionship thing and it's the part I struggle with most.

I struggle a lot with writing responses and I'm not a comedian so sometimes I just don't know what to say or when I'm using a tool I don't know what to ask it. I've tried doing everything the best i can but even then sometimes it feels hollow, that's part of why I'm here asking for help. Because while most of my worldbuilding is my own, I often struggle with shaping personalities and finding a natural way for characters to speak. Claude and Grok have both helped me to an extent, but most of the time the responses feel like something a little kid would write even when it's meant to be fun and immersive rather than silly.

I'm not looking for jokes or trendy quippy dialogue, I'm looking for writing that feels natural and grounded, the kind of dialogue you'd find in a well-written book or show, something specific to the character instead of generic AI phrasing. So is there another AI tool out there or a certain way of prompting the ones I already use that's better suited for writing natural character-accurate dialogue instead of defaulting to humor or overly simple phrasing? Like I said before I'm not here to say AI writing is better than actual books or other types of creations, these RPs are just fun stories I make for myself.

I feel like fantasy nowadays has gone off the rails, so badly it's not fantasy anymore!

So I heard about this place and i decided to post it here, you see I've been a fantasy/scifi/fiction nerd my whole life, and lately I've noticed something a lot of people don't realize, and it's the fact that a lot of fantasy nowadays looks the same, so much so that it doesn't feel like fantasy. Not all of what's made nowadays is bad mind you, there's still good stuff out there. But so much of it feels lazy, like it's made to fit an algorithm instead of coming from something real, something personal, something with purpose. I miss when stories were weird, when they were about searching for purpose in a dark unforgiving world instead of just trying to look cool. I'm 24, and I'm a follower of Christ (not religious), which means I have a personal relationship with Christ.

That faith is a big part of why I write. I'm still working on my own novel and still rewriting chapter 7 of 19, slower than I'd like because of work and family stuff, but it's something I care about deeply. The world I've built is strange on purpose, it has real history, culture, and evil that isn't just a costume. Not a "dark and edgy" mask, not just one person's "I think this is what life is" type of view, but something layered and earned. That kind of depth takes real dedication and I think that's exactly what's missing in a lot of newer stories, because a lot of things nowadays look's cool on the surface but feel hollow underneath. Like I said, a lot of what I've consumed comes from indie creators, small teams, or people in general who found a way to make something real without playing the algorithm's game.

I believe we're capable of more than this system, more stories with purpose that feel alive, that let you sit with the characters instead of just being consumed and forgotten. I have Autism, and staying off social media and trends as much as I can is part of how I protect my peace (I only use Reddit because it's the least toxic place when used wisely, in my opinion. Nothing's perfect, of course). I believe God has me here for a reason, and that reason isn't found in how the world tries to shape people, it's found in my relationship with Him. That's the foundation everything I create is built on, my writing, my world, all of it. Old-school fantasy is still my favorite, but I don't think the answer is just going backwards. I think it's making something new that's actually built with intention. That's just my opinion, but I'm curious on what you all think?
