Does anyone here have a copper deficiency that they are unable to resolve?
I have had a severe copper deficiency for years that I have been unable to resolve. I also suffer from histamine intolerance and SIBO.
Despite supplementation, my copper levels do not rise. This remains true even when I cut out zinc and stop taking Vitamin C—the levels still do not increase.
The only explanation I can think of is that, due to a lack of stomach acid, I am unable to absorb copper efficiently enough in my gut. For this reason, I tried taking copper glycinate, but that didn't help either. Furthermore, I have G6PD, which is also said to be linked to copper metabolism, as it is a form of anemia. Does anyone here have any experience with this, or are you facing the same problem?
