Terminator 3 is the complete opposite of the reviews.

according to most reviews for t3 it is a mediocre and forgettable film with a great ending.

to be honest, the film really isn’t that great but the ending’s really shit. the whole point of terminator 2 is stopping judgment day. now apparently it’s impossible to stop it and it’ll just happen anyway.

what’s even the point? i see nothing great about the ending and really it’s just a pointless sequel.

10 REASONS WHY BLU-RAY KINDA SUCKS

10: the case-as someone with a shelf full of DVDs, putting a blu-ray among them makes it look awful because some asshole thought it’d be funny to make them way shorter than DVDs. Then there’s the criterion Godzilla boxset which i bought and still have not found a way to fit onto the shelf it’s that big.

9: menus-menus on DVDs used to be iconic. The menu for ghostbusters, Shrek 2 and many others are fond childhood memories for a lot of us. Then when it comes to blu-ray there’s basically no menu, or a bunch of weird symbols. Obviously one of those symbols is play, because of the shape, but the others (great movie btw) are completely unreadable. Say you want to get to the special features, oh no i accidentally pressed scene selection, the thing that literally nobody actually uses.

8: not everyone cares about picture quality-i can enjoy a film without caring about how many pixels it has. Some people just can’t enjoy things without the maximum amount of pixels, with that being 4k uhd, and that’s Just plain extortion for even the slipcover!

7: the price-i understand that it’s 7x better picture quality than a dvd but do you really have to make the RRP £20 (or $20 if you’re American)? I mean i wouldn’t realistically pay over £10 for a film apart from maybe an out of print dvd like cocoon or the bear.

6: the name-what is the ray and why is it blue? And why is the e missing from blue?

5: region codes-I’m not complaining about them having region codes, it’s just that for a dvd it’s “region” and then puts the number for what region it is, so 1, 2, 3, 4, you get the drill. Pretty simple. But for blu-ray it’s “region” then a, b, c, d, i mean come on can’t you watch a movie without re-memorising the whole alphabet just to buy it?

4: not every film is on there-one example is the hilarious and underrated ant and dec classic “alien autopsy” which has never gotten a blu-ray release, meaning that some people can’t actually get the movie just because “it’s got better picture quality”

3: the disc holders-DVDs were perfectly fine with great disc holders, then certain blu-ray boxsets with sleeves that the disc is held in! Try and get the disc out, risk getting fingerprints all over the disc. Pull it out with pliers, risk cracking the breaking the disc. In the end you just put rubber gloves on but oh sh*t! You scratched the disc so that it starts bloody skipping right at the best scene in the whole damn movie!

(Which is actually a problem i had with my dvd of vertigo, so skipping is not a new issue)

2: the cover art-I’m of course referring to the infamous Apollo 13 blu-ray cover as well as the cover for the room, near dark, Groundhog Day, minority report, Jurassic park and many others.

1: please stop posting about them on r/dvdcollection-it’s obviously a sub about DVDs, not blu-rays, cds, 4ks or steelbooks. there’s plenty of others subs to post about those in.

Any horror movies without any gore, violence or jumpscares?

looking for things like the sixth sense, the others and mr. Harrigan’s phone. strictly no gore, explicit violence or jumpscares. just pure tension and atmosphere. also, i don’t want anything constantly terrifying. the visit is an example of the sort of film I’m NOT looking for. also, no foreign language films or very recent films. preferably films from before the 2010’s.

My top 10 Hitchcock films

10: the birds-no birdshit Sherlock

9: suspicion-it’s Cary grant.

8: Rebecca-a character who is never shown in the movie

7: spellbound-it’s spellbinding.

6: vertigo-no, i refuse to put it at number one. I don’t care how nightmarish surreal or disturbing it is i won’t change my mind. It’s still a masterpiece though.

5: notorious-well it’s Cary grant.

4: strangers on a train-a classic of it’s tone, style and genre. The only thing that could make this film better would be Danny DeVito. Oh wait that already happened.

3: shadow of a doubt-do i even have to say anymore?

2: north by northwest-his eyes are sensitive to questions.

1: rear window-no explanation necessary

and no i still haven’t seen psycho.

just thought I’d share a slight redesign of the credits because why not. of course it’s not supposed to be better than the original and i fitted as much of the original in as i could but with some slight differences like the different picture at the start

▲ 80 r/Mothman

photo 1 was taken in point pleasant a few years ago by a man who i forgot to do more research into. it shows what many people believe to be an owl carrying a pair of snakes.

however, the moth-like shape of the wings and the rounded, nearly human head makes me think this is more than just an owl.

photo 2 was famously taken in Chicago, and is often considered a large kite. but once again, the shape of the creature is incredibly moth-like, and while looking more fake than the previous, still manages to hold up due to various accounts of the mothman being seen there.

photo 3 was taken from Kyoto, japan. I’m pretty sure this is a bird, but after the Fukushima nuclear disaster, many witnesses claimed to have seen a large man/moth hybrid in the now nuclear skies.

what does this prove?

Well, it’s impossible without teleportation for anything to be in point pleasant 1966, then be seen years later in Fukushima 2011, then to be seen in point pleasant again, this time 2016, then to be seen a year later in Chicago. All of these accounts could prove that the mothman Is not a being, but a species. And possibly a worldwide species. I‘ve even seen him here in the uk! (so that’s why my tea towels have been getting holes in them)

again this is just a theory, so please if you don’t like it just don’t comment on it. i don’t want anybody to have to read hate comments in a very positive sub about believing in the mothman. the mothman is something people can believe in, but some people just refuse to no matter how much evidence is shoved in their face. if you are one of those people please do not comment on this post.

one clue to this would be in the song Billie Jean where michael sings about someone being “the one” and “dancing on the floor in the round” could be a metaphor for winning the war against the machines.

these are mainly comedic crossovers between classic episodes and famous films of various genres. What do you think of these?

u/DwayneTheRockBarry — 20 days ago

i own a collection of almost 400 DVDs and a few blu-rays. i don’t usually get blu-rays but i do when it’s a really great film (e.g. the sixth sense, terminator 2) and i just saw a hd dvd copy of blade runner in a shop and there’s no disc rot or scratches. i think i should probably get it but i don’t know if it’ll play. the “player” is just an old one-s that i don’t use for gaming anymore, and yes i have the blu—ray player app installed. also, i recently went to see Michael in the cinema and was blown away by the film. I’ve decided to pre-order the 4k steelbook, which is a bit risky since i don’t actually own any 4k uhd discs, and i don’t know if it’ll play. does anyone have any information on whether these formats will play or whether I’ll have to get a seperate player? (for more information i live in the uk so it might be different where you’re from if you don’t live in the nation.)
