It appears constantly.. why?? I can't swipe it away, I can't do anything in the notification settings to stop it. All I can do is click it, then it asks for my password and when I enter it the secfolder window disappears. Wtf is the purpose of this ? How do I stop it?
I am also anti ai, I think its cool that KC uses his platform to speak up against it, to a point though like... we know, everyone who agrees already knows. Every time he uploads anything its "ai dumb, ai bad, stop using ai" like yes.. WE KNOW, give us something else pls. there's never anything new about it. It's always just
"cringe celebrity used ai for xzy instead of diy or hiring a real artist"
Its really boring at this point and like the there's never really anything new to be learned from it. I love our mayor but feel like he's really stuck on this.
Ai slop is lazy but it also breeds so much lazy content about the use of ai. I'd rather just forget it exists and try to move on and focus on real art, good or bad. I don't need to hear about how lame it is for the 100000000th time. We've been knowing for years that it suXx, I literally don't need to be reminded ever again.
If its not real art why are we wasting time critiquing it?
Let's just put it in the trash and resume life focused on real stuff.

This is from 2011 but feels like its from 1998.
I never considered crystal antlers to be any type of Core band or emo adjacent band until I re listened to them today. They were too wrapped up in that late 2000s early hipster urban outfitters scene when they first came out, but listening today it seems to fit more into the late era posthardcore scene, pulling influences from mars volta and bear vs shark imo. What do you think? Do you remember this forgotten band?
From what I remember, Gir and invader zim were extremely popular with the mall goth/ nu metal kids in the early 2000s, before myspace existed and before scene really existed. I was wearing a gir plush hanging off my tripp pants with a LinkinPark shirt in 2002, not like paired with skinny jeans and chiodos shirts in 2006. I actually don't recall invader zim being Hella popular 3 to 6 years after it was cancled in the peak scene years. Maybe I saw it a few times on people's custom myspace layouts but I truly don't ever remember gir/zim being like 100% no question scene icons in the later 2000s. Am I wrong ? I very well could be wrong, hard to remember everything from 20+ years ago but to me the gir/zim love and scene association feels like a newer addition. I've seen the 2 paired in the last 5 years way more than I've seen it back then. I just accepted the pairing without questioning it until recently I realized I couldn't track the origin. Obviously correct me and lmk what's up if you're old enough to know.

Pretty sure this is every nu metal cd I had like 22-25 years ago as a kid. Kinda strange collection i know, I never had $$ for all the albums i wanted. I enjoy references but I think it might have gone too far. Felt like i was terminaly online while in the theater. Theres def a handful i forgot since seeing the movie yesterday and many more I didn't notice but others have caught. Thoughts? Some i enjoyed and some just felt very unoriginal

If you know me, its crazy that I've never seen those bands live, but I was a just slightly too young to be traveling to see them / they never came and played in my hometown. I was like 12-13 when those bands were at their best.
I have a longer list of bands im so happy I caught from like 2005-2008 [glassjaw, thursday, ismfof, dead poetic, we're all broken, finch, chiodos, etc] but missing those 3 def hurts.
Also know I could see all 3 of them now but not super interested at this point besides afi who I would still go see if I could afford it.

Am I loosing my mind? I couldn't even find a good pic of it. Where it was attached to the tree, there used to be a tiny hard dark ball inside that you have to be warry of when making guac etc, when making a big bowl of guac, one of those little things would always make it into the mix and it would suck to bit down on. Why are they gone now? I haven't seen one in years and pics dont even featre that tiny throwaway part anymore.
imo, obc tropes mostly come from like 1998-2009.
A lot of trends changed within that braket which leads to confusion about what the trends actually were.
The 1999 ob listening to korn & Limp bizkit, wearing JNCOs and had a BMX bike is very different from the 2007 ob who listened to breaking benjamin & bullet for my valentine, shopped at PacSun and had a long board.
Is obc forever relegated to the 2000s with a little bleed over into late 90s and early 2010s? Or will we get an obc2 thats fully 2010s/20teens?
around 2007 Matt Bennett from the show Victorious was in a band called Matt & Bryan's Chior of Angels.
They were legends in their school/neighborhood but maybe not any kind of further reach. They had some songs on myspace and played a handful of backyard shows iirc. I think they were each in other bands too.
I wasnt really friends with Matt, I used to fuck around and smoke with Bryan in parking lots in high-school, we didn't go to the same school. I cant track him down anywhere online, im sure he would send tracks if I found him though. I messaged Matt asking for old songs but he never even saw the message. I want to track down some recordings so bad, I fear that shit is gone forever with myspace and pureVolume dying. But maybe someone here remembers them and has some clues.
