This was very early days of youtube, like year 1 or 2, so like 20 years ago by now.

Channel would post very short videos featuring creepy uncanny original creatures doing basic movements and making scary nonsense sounds. No backgrounds, pretty void of any colors iirc. Not sure if they were modern at the time or even older than the mid 2000s. Looked primitive for mid 2000s but could have just been due to older software. Would aways get recommended on the side bar of related videos when I would watch stuff like rubber Johnny, some Grey bloke, salad fingers and stuff like that. Have 0 recollection of what the channel name was but would absolutely know it if I saw it. Been trying to find again for so long, basically since a few years after I initially saw it. ​

Meaning the strong ones that can actually withstand pulling without bending out of shape and coming undone and also won't rust or oxidize. Obviously i know not to get dollar store ones but is there a term I can search to make sure I'm getting the good ones online? not talking about the big thick ones, just regular looking little ones that aren't poorly made.

I have some T guy friends who i can really connect with on nastolgic boy media and it feels a bit weird cause the vibe is like.. we're bros. I know girls can like literally anything and it shouldn't mean much but it feels kinda funny. When I have the same types of hangs and talks with other trans girls it feels empowering like.. we don't have to reject our past interests to be feminine. But when It happens with boys idk.. it feels like they are more trans than me or something. It's probably very silly of me to worry about but curious if anyone else experiences this.

around 2007 Matt Bennett from the show Victorious was in a band called Matt & Bryan's Chior of Angels.

Matt & Bryan were the main members/writters

They were legends in their school/neighborhood but maybe not any kind of further reach. They had some songs on myspace and played a handful of backyard shows iirc. I think they were each in other bands too.

I wasnt really friends with Matt, I used to fuck around and smoke with Bryan in parking lots in high-school, we didn't go to the same school. I cant track him down anywhere online, im sure he would send tracks if I found him though. I messaged Matt asking for old songs but he never even saw the message. I want to track down some recordings so bad, I fear that shit is gone forever with myspace and pureVolume dying. But maybe someone here remembers them and has some clues.

I know its not Goth proper but there's no where else to talk about this on reddit. Any Mall Goth threads are just about the fashion and not the music.

Talking bands like HIM, AFI, Scarling/ Jack Off Jill, kidney thieves, Placebo, Orgy, the birthday massacre, msi, collide, kill hanna, even stuff like NIN & manson & heavier stuff like kittie, coal chamber and cradle of filth.

Feel like this was a very important gateway scene for milenials and I wish there was some type of revival for the music and not just the hot topic clothes.

Not talking about 1 specific era like "the 80s" or "the late 2000s" but more just your first favorite year and your last favorite year, and enjoying all the different cultural trends and changes in the middle.

For example mine is 1998-2012. All my favorite stuff is basically contained within that, stuff that has nothing to do with eachother but all falls into that bracket.

It appears constantly.. why?? I can't swipe it away, I can't do anything in the notification settings to stop it. All I can do is click it, then it asks for my password and when I enter it the secfolder window disappears. Wtf is the purpose of this ? How do I stop it?

I am also anti ai, I think its cool that KC uses his platform to speak up against it, to a point though like... we know, everyone who agrees already knows. Every time he uploads anything its "ai dumb, ai bad, stop using ai" like yes.. WE KNOW, give us something else pls.​ there's never anything new about it. It's always just

Its really boring at this point and like the there's never really anything new to be learned from it. I love our mayor but feel like he's really stuck on this.

Ai slop is lazy but it also breeds so much lazy content about the use of ai. I'd rather just forget it exists and try to move on and focus on real art, good or bad. I don't need to hear about how lame it is for the 100000000th time. We've been knowing for years that it suXx, I literally don't need to be reminded ever again.

If its not real art why are we wasting time critiquing it?

Let's just put it in the trash and resume life focused on real stuff.

I never considered crystal antlers to be any type of Core band or emo adjacent band until I re listened to them today. They were too wrapped up in that late 2000s early hipster urban outfitters scene when they first came out, but listening today it seems to fit more into the late era posthardcore scene, pulling influences from mars volta and bear vs shark imo. What do you think? Do you remember this forgotten band?

From what I remember, Gir and invader zim were extremely popular with the mall goth/ nu metal kids in the early 2000s, before myspace existed and before scene really existed. I was wearing a gir plush hanging off my tripp pants with a LinkinPark shirt in 2002, not like paired with skinny jeans and chiodos shirts in 2006. I actually don't recall invader zim being Hella popular 3 to 6 years after it was cancled in the peak scene years. Maybe I saw it a few times on people's custom myspace layouts but I truly don't ever remember gir/zim being like 100% no question scene icons in the later 2000s. Am I wrong ? I very well could be wrong, hard to remember everything from 20+ years ago but to me the gir/zim love and scene association feels like a newer addition. I've seen the 2 paired in the last 5 years way more than I've seen it back then. I just accepted the pairing without questioning it until recently I realized I couldn't track the origin. Obviously correct me and lmk what's up if you're old enough to know.
