Who are the oldest nyc writers still active ?
Pretty sure JA is still active, pretty sure DINK is still active, i know miss17 is still active, not super old but at least 26 years in the game. Who else ? Used to be way more up on my knowledge but haven't had my finger on the pulse in years tbh.
Where do yall stand on posthardcore = or ≠ emo?
I feel torn about this. I'm probably in the wrong but to me all 2000s pxc bands are 2000s emo. I was always aware of the 80s-90s og emo bands, i just thouht 2000s pxc is what it evolved into. I know its not correct but i couldn't even tell you what "real emo" bands were from 2003-2008.
Its funny cause back in the day I was the one saying black parade and a fever you can't sweat out were not emo albums. A few years ago I was the one saying that a girl in tripp pants and a deftones shirt is not emo, and today I'm the one saying "emo nignts" at clubs where they play Yellowcard, Greenday and simple plan are not emo.
Its kinda on me cause i never even heard the term post hardcore til like 5 years ago despite loving the genre all this time. Back in high-school I was def called emo and never said out loud that I was but thought it fit, my favorites of the time being thursday, underoath, saosin, silverstein, chiodos, from first to last, the used etc.
Whats your opinion on it? Obv pxc is a defined genre, i guess "emo" is more of a term for a type of kid and it keeps updating, regardless of the fact that it's also its own distinct genre. slang is not really factual and we cant control it.
Anyone have any info on this weird art of drowning CD ?
not sure if its an early pressing or a bootleg or what.
Why is the part that's actually in your ear so thin compared to the part that shows in the outside??
The hole still has to be big enough to shove it through, so why have the part that actually stays inside the hole be so narrow, not helping it stretch further and probably causing it to close more, making it harder each time you size up. they should be similar diameter no ?
If i can get the big stoper through no problem, why i would i want such small pole inside. Feel like the stopper should be just a bit bigger, not like 4X. like.. i can already fit the smaller sizes in there if it weren't for the big flat parts, how does that help?
Makes literally no sense to me. Am i missing something? Or are these just poorly designed
Feels like everything was either on major label or self released, there has to be some cool lables I'm not aware of tho.
Was doing research on the release order of all the hybrid theory vids and was surprised to learn that papercut was the last one to come out. I only saw it a handful of times on fuse durring loaded (an artist block where they would fill a small slot with a bunch back to back videos by 1 artist) never saw it in regular rotation outside of the LP loaded block,, the other 3 however, I would see play separately all the time.. for years. Just interesting imo, not sure why papercut was the odd one out there. It was always my favorite vid
Literally the only glasses that ever looked good on me, got the frames at a thrift store like 10 years ago and lost them. Idk the style name, every similar pair I find is like the BIG version of these that go way above my eyebrows. I hate those. Pls help.
