Like, don't get me wrong it's not like the guy was rescuing puppies or anything, but he still seemed a fair bit more decent than Weevil. Weevil's out here throwing other people's rare cards into the ocean, taking advantage of insider knowledge for tournaments, paying kids to sneak illegal cards into another player's deck, and Rex just... kinda has a poor attitude.

But the two are treated as though they are on the same level of scummy. And when the Orichalcos arc comes around, Rex is teaming up with Weevil to join an evil cult so he can steal Joey's soul. I mean it's not a complete escalation, but I feel like there was some sort of jump there.

I am BEGGING you people, if you are at all unsatisfied with the direction Sega is taking Shadow's character, use something past the stupid metal virus arc! I'm not saying it's not bad, I'm saying it was SEVEN FUCKING YEARS AGO! I'd think they'd write Shadow differently since then.

This is the equivalent of saying Modern Death Battle is washed and using freaking Aang vs Edward to support your claim! You people are making Ben 10 fans look capable of letting things go! Use something, ANYTHING else! Then again, that's basically asking Sonic fans to learn how to READ!

And in the manga, it was the level of the monster that determined its rarity. That's why Celtic Guardian was level 6 in the manga. So therefore it should be just as rare if not more than the Level 7 Red Eyes.

And we never even see how Joey acquires this card. True he could have always just pulled it out of a random booster pack, which I guess is pretty lucky for Joey, considering how its so much stronger than anything else in his deck. Still, Joey and his internal monologue's were hyping up Red Eyes and TIME WIZARD as his aces for Battle City. Gilford was never even entertained as a possibility. And then Joey just draws it and calls it out kinda unceremoniously in the anime.

Now, this probably won't change the metagame or even be that good. But it at least looks fun with a chance to excel in more casual duels. And I gotta say, as much as I love Red Eyes, this makes infinitely more sense for a Joey Deck than just Red Eyes support. And I'd love to see even more cards be added to the archetype like Gearfried.

Like, I get what they were trying to do, but they didn't have to make his voice LEGITIMATELY painful to listen to.

1. Deadpool - His whole thing is that he can regrow any part of his body even his head, but it goes even deeper than that. In the comics, when Wade's healing factor spread to his cancer, making his tumors take over his entire body, that's why his skin and face is so scarred. But with how much it has spread, potentially Deadpool is just a giant sentient tumor who THINKS he's Wade Wilson.
2. Prototype - The big twist of the game is that the playable character, Alex Mercer, is actually >!A sentient strand of the blacklight virus that consumed a scientist named Alex Mercer and hen absorbed all his memories.!<
3. Spiders Man- A version of Spider-man that is really just thousands of spiders holding themselves together in a suit who also think they are Peter Parker. I don't know how this abomination came to be and quite frankly I don't want to know.
4. Resident Evil Village - Ethan Winters survives some pretty crazy stuff that no normal human reasonably should. Even getting his arm chopped off before placing it back on its stub, and it working perfectly fine. Turns out >!He had been infected with the black fungus virus from the last game, and it had slowly been taking over his body, though he retains all his memories. By the end of the game, he is essentially more fungus than human being.!<

Look, don't judge me, alright. Someone in the crowd yelled "It's Spider-man!" and I immediately jumped to the front door. How was I supposed to know he was talking about the window?

But still, poor this guy, am I right? The dude must be so confused. Imagine just walking out of a hospital after who knows how long at the EXACT same time a giant crowd starts cheering and chanting Spider-man's name. If it were me, I'd definitely be thinking "Shit, am I Spider-man?"

For being constantly marketed with the card, Joey didn't use it all that often. He pulled off some pretty decent moves with it in Duelist Kingdom but it always feels weird to count those rules when they were so loosey goosey with the rules. Then he lost it when they started doing actual rules for the Battle City and Virtual world arcs, and he only got to use it in one of two duels in Kaiba's Grand Prix, and it was the one he LOST.

But in Waking the Dragons, Red Eyes is the key to victory against not only Rex Raptor but Valon as well. It was even used pretty decently against Mai, though he didn't win. It finally felt justified for Red Eyes to be treated like Joey's Dark Magician.

It's even from the same dang movie.

Like, this was kinda insane, right? We're not given any more context to Greg and Amethyst's relationship beyond this episode leaving so many questions, plus how Greg and Amethyst barely interact beyond this episode. To be fair, it's not like Greg and Pearl had too many significant interactions after Mr. Greg, but Mr. Greg had been the resolution to this underlying tension that had been there for years. Meanwhile, Lil Butler introduces this entire new dynamic between two characters that most didn't even consider, produces some of the most realistic and ugliest tension in the show, and then it all vanishes almost just as quickly.

That's not to say this is a bad episode or that it shouldn't have existed, this is still one of the most powerful episodes to come out of the show and goes a long way in making the characters feel like real people. It's just that thinking back on it, I'm just surprised that this didn't have a bigger impact on the larger arcs of Greg and Amethyst.

And it's not like making fun of her in a cruel way. It's just a friendly jab. I love it

I had a feeling it was gonna get back on track but not to THIS degree. The animation quality of the fight scenes were phenomenally hype, and I can't tell you how excited that makes me for the finale when Clark gets back into the picture. I didn't think this could top anything from Clark and Henshaw's final confrontation in Episode 5 but this got damn close. And the picometers separating them is just my love for the character work of Clark and Henshaw.

New Jonathan is a bit of a brat though, even by traumatized future kids standards his angst levels are. bit jarring especially since we have the first Jon to compare him to. Like yeah, dude, go on about how your future is SO much worse than the first one when you didn't even know the first one, and make sure to do it in front of your SISTER who you were just told didn't even EXIST the first time. How do you think it's supposed to look being spiteful that your DAD is alive?

Also, there's a solid 50/50 chance that the Eradicator becomes Doomsday. It's already way more like Doomsday than the eradicator of the comics. And it's whole thing is "evolution" the same as Doomsday, and with the time watch he can even fo back to the beginning of Krypton or even the beginning of time to progress its evolution even further and become Doomsday.
