The OG Launchpad McQuack!

Nice guy. He expressed to me how proud he is of the fact that the beloved character he gave life in Ducktales was popular enough to return as a starring character in Darkwing Duck.

Encountered a rare Mipha art print at the convention Animate Orlando yesterday and couldn’t resist getting it

I think this is only the second Mipha fan art print I’ve ever encountered at any convention. I believe the same artist/vendor at the same convention last year had a Sidon print but hadn’t yet tried her hand drawing his sister. I guess patience pays off sometimes.

Met one of Avalanche’s finest yesterday

While I was still in line she looked over the poster I had brought with me, which I bought on Redbubble with the Avalanche cap, and seemed quite impressed with it. I had many things I wanted to mention to her about Jessie’s captivating character and arc (such as her positive influence on the antisocial Cloud), but I got nervous and tongue-tied, partially because she was about to break for a panel and I didn’t want to hold her up. I did manage to say that I considered Jessie such an endearing character, and then inquire about the possibility of her returning in some capacity in Revelation. She said she wasn’t allowed to say. No confirmations nor denials. I responded that answer made me cautiously optimistic, but I understood. The quote I chose was Jessie’s first line jn the game, directed at Cloud, prompting him to kick some Shinra ass. I figured it also fit since having fun is the main point of video games (and occasionally experiencing severe emotional distress like in Chapter 12). Miss Lindbeck seems to appreciate her fans and was very gracious to one and all. I could definitely hear Jessie’s voice in hers.

I had honor of meeting the Rito Champion yesterday

Sean Chiplock is quite the character and very affable. He kept the people in his queue entertained with constant banter, heckling his own photographer to get his attention, and other shenanigans. He seemed to enjoy and appreciate all of his interactions with fans, and really got into the photo ops (for instance his “Revali pose”). I didn’t realize until I got in line that he had also voiced Teba (also a really badass character with a really cool voice) and when I brought that up with him he added he had also voiced the Great Deku Tree, which was apparently the first role in which he’d been cast in BotW. Impressive range! He liked my choice of quote from Age of Calamity and said he’d have to remember it. When I brought up my second choice (“Watch and learn!”) he recited “Cool down!” (his Cryonis attack line from the same game). I brought up this interview clip I’d seen https://youtube.com/shorts/wP\_q7tJUhqw?is=tuhhs2OM07rnP0Yt before citing the palpable weight of responsibility in Revali’s voice at the beginning of his Champion’s Ballad cutscene as an example of the heart and soul Chiplock had put into the role. He said as he was rehearsing and recording Revali’s lines he had moments of doubt and was worried the role would be recast. But clearly it all worked out in the end.

In honor of the 40th Anniversary of the GOAT video game franchise and its star: my humble [mostly] Metroid collection.

Happy Birthday, Samus Aran!

Hey you guys are kinda cool but I have to ask: do you ever question the ethics of killing Dorian’s wife and extorting him into helping steal Paya’s doohickey by threatening his kids?

Why not just kill Dorian for quitting the clan right away and be done with it?

S-M: BND "If I had a nickel for every time a Peter in the MCU [SPOILERS] I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?"

Interesting thought I had watching Spider-Man BND

Frank’s first and last appearances [to date] in the MCU are both in a hospital—albeit in completely different contexts. Kinda funny how chill the hospital staff seemingly is with a guy who shot up a hospital less than a decade earlier.

How it started vs. How it’s going (Alternate title: A small showcase of Spielberg’s genius)
