Tuff Kote Dinol on 1978 Vehicle - Is this a good thing, or bad?
I'm buying a 1978 vehicle that is in immaculate condition. It has been stored in a garage and rarely driven since the mid-80s. The paint and the body are immaculate. I can see that the vehicle was treated with Tuff Kote Dinol that would now be over 40 years old. I've read that given it's age, it's lost it's flexibility and is not effective as a rust proofing treatment. My question is, if I now have this vehicle and use it infrequently, will rain and moisture get trapped between the Tuff Kote and the metal and possibly accelerate rusting and lead to issues? I wouldn't be driving the car during times when road salt etc. were used, but it would be getting wet more frequently than it did over the past 40 years while it sat in a garage. Thanks in advance!
