@Me.com aliases? New ones still allowed/available? Or is it all @iCloud now?

I have several old at-Me.com accounts.

If I make a NEW alias ... are new Me.com ones still allowed/available?

(alias-at-Me.com) ?

Or is it all alias-at-iCloud.com now, even if it is made on a Me.com account?

I already have several old alias-at-Me.coms, but I don't want to delete one only to find out creating a NEW alias is only alias-at-iCloud.com today (even on a Me.com account).

How do I turn off? -- Suno Studio 1.2 and 2.0 Keep moving my clips around to match the beat (or something)!

How do I turn this off? --

Suno Studio 1.2 and 2.0 keep moving my clips around to match the beat (or something)!

I have tried the settings "Original" and "On Beat" and "Follow Tempo" ... nothing works ...

SUNO keeps adjusting and moving my clips every time I add a single drum accent (especially a SINGLE loud crash or SINGLE bass drum).

I can get all my clips lined up and blended perfectly, which can take hours ... and then SUNO just moves them on me, and they're out of synch again.

I use several clips and blend them together in different tracks, often in mid-sentence, so the vocals have to match perfectly ... I get the notes and vocals lined up. Then I add a SINGLE loud crash or SINGLE bass drum ... and SUNO MOVES MY CLIPS (without my permission) and now everything is out of synch.

I assume SUNO is trying to match the beat or something, but it keeps messing up my blending of clips from different takes.

What can I do to stop this (besides using an external DAW). Because SUNO is LOSSY, I'm trying to do minimal exports into an outside DAW.

What are the spots inside my celery?

What are the spots inside my celery?

I don't have a photo ... but ...

All the celery is crisp, freshly bought from the store.

1/2 the celery bunch is completely fine.

1/2 of the bunch have these slightly discolored and slightly indented long spots inside the celery stalk that go for about 1/2 the INSIDE of the stalk. The outside is fine, and the rest of the celery stalk is fine.

Is this a Celery infection?

Celery bacteria or virus?

Is this an insect? (I don't see signs of eggs or webs.)

And most importantly ... IS IT STILL EDIBLE?

v5.5 ... My Stems sound WORSE? (I separated into stems, then output, final sounds "off")

SUNO v5.5 ... My Stems sound WORSE? (I separated into stems, then output, final sounds "off")

I paid the credits to separate my STEMS in v5.5 so I could do fine editing in STUDIO.

I found of course the stem separation was not perfect.

But also...

When I exported ... the volume was noticeably LOWER and the SOUND QUALITY was OFF ... I could IMMEDIATELY tell the difference between the STEM-SEPARATED STUDIO output and my original and my non-stem edited outputs.

All I did was remove a small section of end vocals, and I thought it would be easier in STUDIO and with stem-separation than trying to REPLACE in the EDITOR.

I didn't adjust anything else.

The STEM-SEPARATED STUDIO output is noticeably softer in volume and seems OFF in QUALITY. It seems very unbalanced, wobbly in consistency, just not as good quality as the original nor other editing methods.

What are your experiences?

=====

NOTE:

I find each stem extraction comes out different (if I try again and again).

I'm not getting glitches or artifacts ... it just doesn't sound 100% "right" ... and sounds worse than the original whole, even when I reassemble identically.

What are shows that people dress in costume for? (i.e. Wicked, Masquerade, Rocky Horror)?

What are shows that the AUDIENCE dresses in costume (or cosplay or themed outfits) for, when they attend?

(Such as: Wicked, Masquerade, Rocky Horror, Gatsby, etc.)

What spark, inspiration, scene or type of show makes an audience want to start to dress up in costume when they attend?

Obviously only certain shows inspire audiences to do this.

Prices? Skyrocketing?

Prices? Skyrocketing?

Haven't eaten Subway in a few years. I remember when they had $5 and $6 foot longs a few years ago.

(EDIT: I guess 10+ years ago?)

Now the prices in my area are around $8-$11 for 6 inches and $14-$16 for foot ... give or take, depending on meat of course.

Is this true ... is this the national rate ... or is my area just expensive?

Subway used to be very reasonable, but $14-$16 for a foot long is outrageous.

They do have $4 deli 6" faves, which is more reasonable. But the other prices seem very high?

Movies & Popcorn ... Do you think Movie Theaters would sell more popcorn at $1-$3 for a small/medium size? (Instead of $8-$20?)

Movies & Popcorn ...

Popcorn is/can be relatively cheap. I don't imagine movie theaters spend a lot on popcorn kernels and machines, fake butter, etc.

Do you think Movie Theaters would sell more popcorn (and make more money) at $1-$3 for a small/medium size? (Instead of $8-$20+?)

I don't buy movie popcorn (or any movie food) because it's so expensive (and just terrible).

But I would buy popcorn at $1-$2 small, $3 medium. $5 for a large bucket.

Do movie theaters make that much more money selling their popcorn at ungodly prices? ($8-$20+?)

Or would they make more money by selling it at a normal price and selling more of it?

It can cost $50+ to see a movie with ticket+food/snack+drink.

I might be cheap, but I just eat before or after, and just buy the ticket. I can wait 2 hours.

(This isn't about theaters NOT making money ... just wondering out loud if they'd MAKE MORE MONEY by selling a little cheaper and getting more sales volume.)

(Not talking candy and other snacks, as those cost more to make wholesale, so slightly understandable why those cost a lot.)

(The smaller theaters that sell gourmet tapas and small dishes, I'd gladly pay $10-$20+ for a movie meal that tasted like a restaurant at your seat. But those are few and far between.)

=====

Side note ... I wish more movie theaters would offer gourmet popcorn at those high prices.

Silly Question: Does SUNO have canned Sound FX like "Footsteps" or "Thunder" (etc.)

Does SUNO have canned Sound FX like "Footsteps" or "Thunder" (etc.)

I'm trying to keep all / most of my editing INSIDE SUNO ... sometimes it's just easier to have it all in one place ...

(Plus, I don't want too much "version degradation" with copy upon copy and slight differences between DAWS, input-to-output, etc. since SUNO is still LOSSY and even the WAV is LOSSY.)

Anyway ... I'm just trying to add "footsteps" to the beginning of a track in SUNO.

Also ... if I need to upload my own "footsteps" into SUNO ... does anyone have / know where a good "footsteps" audio file is that I can download?

Movie popcorn ... now my tongue has hurt for days

I spent the day at the movies ... they offer all you can eat popcorn (for a special price).

I ate movie popcorn all day, about 2 large tubs ... now my tongue has hurt for days.

Why?

Is it the fake butter?

I know it could be the rough kernels. but only my tongue hurts, not my mouth.

My tongue is very sore ... is the fake butter literal poison?

I've eaten tons of other popcorn from stores, bags, and fests and my tongue never hurt before.

=====

ADVICE: Don't do it! (All-you-can eat movie popcorn.)

It's a shame they make movie popcorn so gross ... because it could be soooo yummy and healthy. A small bag is OK, but the large tubs and free refills is absolutely gross. I didn't even add anything.

It's cooked fresh in front of you ... comes out hot ... but that fake butter, oil, and other additives destroy the popcorn. My tongue is in soooo much pain.

Normal popcorn should be yummy and healthy, not painful.

What is the most successful (or your favorite) small cast (1-6 actors) musical?

What is the most successful (or your favorite) small cast (1-6 actors) musical?

Since CATS closing is bringing up expenses of musicals and large casts (AND THEATER RENT) ... what are some great SMALLER BWAY musicals?

It seems small (but great) musicals are what may have a chance in the future to survive.

Weekly Operating Costs? (Is it mostly cast / crew / orchestra?)

Broadway Weekly Operating Costs? (Is it mostly cast / crew / orchestra?)

After the RENT and ONE-TIME costs -- sets, costumes, etc.

(And of course after the weekly theatre, admin, adverts, and royalty costs.)

Are the main weekly operating costs:

Cast, crew, and orchestra?

As in ... even if the sets and costumes were huge and elaborate and expensive, if the cast and orchestra were small ... the weekly operating costs would also be much smaller?

I just wonder if bigger casts draw more audiences, or just cost more and risk the show closing sooner if not a mega-hit to pay for all the people on stage.

It seems the best way to keep weekly operating costs low, is to keep cast and orchestra smaller.

(Estimated for 2026, not 100% accurate, but close.)

The minimum salary for a Broadway actor is $2,638 per week (plus there are understudies, swings, etc.)

Standard Ensemble Pay: $2,638/week minimum.

Swings: Additional $101.70/week per role covered.

Dance Captains: Extra $406/week.

Example:
A swing in Chicago who covers 5 ensemble tracks might earn over $3,000 per week.

Minimum base weekly salary for a Broadway pit musician is $2,143.10 per week.

If a musician performs (or “doubles”) on multiple instruments, each additional instrument increases their base salary. The first addition earns the player $267.89 extra a week, with $133.95 more for each additional instrument played.

The base weekly salary for a conductor on Broadway is $3,750.43. Their associate conductor makes a minimum of $2,786.04. Those additions for doubling on instruments apply to conductors

Stage Managers
The base weekly salary for a stage manager working on a Broadway musical is $4,334 a week, and $3,725 for a play.

Assistant stage managers make a minimum of $3,423 weekly for a musical and $3,046 for a play. Some musicals also have a second assistant stage manager, who gets a minimum weekly salary of $2,645.

Salaries for other backstage roles can vary, but reports suggest that wardrobe supervisors, responsible for the care and maintenance of a show’s costumes, earn $2,007 per week. Broadway dressers, who maintain and assist a specific actor with their costumes, earn around $1,100. Sound and lighting operators on Broadway can earn between $1,800 and $2,800 per week, depending on their proficiency and the requirements of the show.

So I'm guessing, on average, around $3,000 per person in the cast, crew, and orchestra.

  • 1930s – $40 per week ($900 inflation-adjusted to 2025)
  • 1950s – $85 per week
  • 1960s – $160 per week
  • 1970s – $335 per week
  • 1980s – $700 per week
  • 1990s – $1,135 per week
  • 2000s – $1,509 per week
  • 2010s – $1,703 per week
  • 2025 – $2,638 per week

What is the lowest possible weekly operating cost for a Broadway musical today?

What is the lowest possible weekly operating cost for an "average" Broadway musical today?

(Also in which theater, as theaters charge various rents/fees/percentages.)

("Average-sized" cast, crew, orchestra, set, etc.)

With CATS closing, and 9/10 musicals never breaking even, I'm curious what an "average" Broadway musical today needs to make each week to stay open.

Of course no one but the producer knows for sure, so I'm asking for guesses and estimates.

(I don't want to get caught up in the semantics of "this or that," "every show is different," etc.)

Just take an educated guess or estimate! (...or don't answer if you don't know.)

There's a few around here who really understand the numbers, so one of you can give us a great answer and breakdown!

Thanks!

Meat for Human Health ... Beef? Fish? Chicken? Pork? Does it matter?

Meat for Human Health ... Beef? Fish? Chicken? Pork? (Etc.) Does it matter?

I have a few questions... (all of these are "to be normally healthy / functioning" -- and covers the traditional western red / white meats and seafood ... nothing crazy or obviously poisonous / unhealthy.)

  1. Does a human need to eat meat regularly?
  2. Does the type of meat matter, if humans must eat meat? (Can a human eat any kind of "normal" meat, while avoiding other types -- and stay healthy?)
  3. Do humans need red meat (cows / beef) ... or can we stay healthy eating just fish, chicken, and/or pork?

Starkist solid white albacore tuna? How much is "fake" escolar?

I am learning how a lot of "white tuna" and "albacore" tuna is mislabeled escolar (often deliberately) ... escolar is a similar looking but very different fish.

(Escolar is actually banned in Japan since the 1970s.)

(Similar to reports or rumors that dolphins get caught up with tuna and sometimes sold as tuna.)

I found in restaurants, up to 84% of tuna is not tuna.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone knows specifically how much (if any) of Starkist "solid white albacore tuna" is "fake" escolar?
