Bookstores like Barnes & Nobles often only have several volumes in stock with many missing. I haven't collected any manga (so far have only read digitally) but am not personally into online shopping which does limit options for manga and other books. I might eventually collect for favorite series but how do you personally manage to collect all volumes without online ordering given only fragmented volumes tend to be stocked up especially when the series is niche?

I recently started to re-read it for the first time as an adult. And it is nostalgic and the relationship between Axel and Lidenbrock has a charm to it. Though the actual journey doesn't begin till 15 chapters with most of the early being spent in Iceland on surface. And I do prefer Verne's later novels like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea or The Mysterious Island when it comes to pacing. Yet I am enjoying revisiting another childhood classic. And wonder what others think of it.

They don't have a good reputation online and as a kid I myself had a negative view of them as being incomplete and would try to avoid books that were abridged. As an adult though, I have become more open minded to different ideas and have been curious to see the other side. And was wondering if there are people who do not simply see abridged versions (either for children or classics that are extremely long) as simply incomplete and what reasons some may have more nuanced views and maybe even see them positively.

This a thing you can have in Trio of Towns. While it doesn't personally appeal to me, Fogu says it is necessary to have one for an event with your child. Though what exactly is it like having a furmiliar in your experiance?

I got some old paperbacks from decade ago. And still cherish them and like to re-read them. However, many have spines that have cracked or worse broken apart. And taping with scotch tape only imperfectly fixes them and worse causes pages to get uneven and rub and smear the ink against each other. Is there a better way to fix them?

It is a 1877 translation that is availble as paperback from Wordsworth Classics and apparnelty is one of the better public domain English translations. Yet searches on Google do not show it on Project Gutenburg or anywhere. Are there any free scans or transcriptions availble?

This hypothesis has done nothing but make people judemental and even cruel to those unfortunate. And encourged self righteousness. There is no real harm to admit that not everyone is lucky in life and to isntead encourge people to fidn ways to reduce auffering of poor and others.

I started to play Tides of Destiny and much like 4, the opening is still in Japanese. Haven't plyaed Frontier so cannot comment sbut have read it also does not dub it. Why did only the DS games get dubbed intros? Given Natsume also did Tides unlike 4 and Frontier, it cannot simply be due to different localizers. I do like the dubbing even if the English is not too clear (apparently the same singers as the Japanese versions dubbed them) just because it gives something to make it feel it has sonething unique to it.

I just completed the 3DS version of Lost Valley and I honestly liked it! The characters have depth as you do requests. For instance, Sam the merchant at first just seems the shady merchant trope but as you do his requests you find he has depth to him with his family issues. Even the little girl Sally whose goal of looking for her mother at the start seems to just be an excuse to have her around actually has a touching reuniion with her mother >!Naomi who seems to just be a randon visitor.at first!< and the two hang out together after. Even the plot of the game is not just a unique take on the restore the Harvest Goddess plot used in older games but the whole premise of it being Winter all the time is a unuque take on it that has not been done before to my knowledge. And at the end, rather than simply being an excuse plot, the whole mess with the seasons is revealed at the end to originally have been caused by humans not being thankful for nature and exploiting it, which quite resonates with real life problems of climate among other things. Most sleep on this gane due to the visuals and the brand name issue, but I thought it one of the best 3DS farm games and actually better than some of the "real" HM games I've played plotwise. And do like the stylized isometric graphics more than the generic 3D. And will eventually try out Skytree Village and see how it is. Anyone else found this game enjoyable both story and visual wise and actually like it better than the "real" games?

I finally got Feena making party three people now and about to do Ghost Ship. Yet monsters still seem to drop only insignificant exp points, like below 10 exp. At this rate, grinding levels would take forever. How does grinding work in this game? Will later enemies drop more exp? Also, how should I utalize Sue? I've read she is not a permanent party member and will eventually leave yet I still am fond enough of her that I don't want to just neglect her stats. Is there any way to make her time as member imortant while not wasting items like spells or stat boosters that will not benefit after she leaves?

I am about to go on second date and selected a random location. I have her at 8 hearts and give chocolate cake each day to raise level. Do you just need to date at random places till she is level 10 or are there any requirements? How do you trigger them all?

I've lately been interested in writing short story collections at some point. And as one who grew up with original Holmes stories, people would normally think having character development or some deep lore or theme is needed for fiction to remain relevant. Yet Holmes has neithe but has stayed relevant (even outliivng Doyle's more serious works that actually follow these). What exactly has allowed Holmes and Watson to remain releevant even after more than a century even when Doyle himself did regard the stories highly?

For moat of the early novels, such as Journey to the Center of the Earth, Captain Hatteras, From the Earth to the Moon, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, etc. the series is focused on exploration and discovery of regions and areas that at the time had not been explored. Haven't read as many of his later books but the few do seem to be about adventure but tend to no longer be set in then unexplored areas. Thpugh are there some later novels that have similar focus as early?

As long as you come at the right time when traffic is not high?

I am really enjoying the game. Just got on the train to the mines. I also like the isometric style with chibi sprites on top and the ability to rotate. And would enjoy other JRPGs or any action adventure with similar style.

I enjoyed the SNES games SoulBlazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma. And Granstream Saga is in similar style though 3D rather than 2D. And I lately have been branching out into Playstation after playing mostly Nintendo. However, I did get spoiled on the Granstream Saga ending and it honestly sounds too depressing for me. While the Quintet triology had bittersweet endings, they still didn't come across depressing. The way Granstream Saga ends which I will not spoil honestly does not make me want to play it. Though what do others think of it? Is it too depressing for anyone else?

Finally did first boss after completing ruins. And I am likeing the main MC and his younger sister's dynamic so far. Still early in the game but do expect there will be major devlopment later on. Just wanted to know others opinion.

While his translation of Journey to the Centre of the Earth is available from Puffin (despite being out of print for Penguin) his Around the Moon seems to have never been reissued. I would like to get it given I have no physical copy of not Around the Moon and grew up with the Baldick version of Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Though where can it be found second hand?

I did do both Scarecrow and Philip's wishes and got credits after. I just did Midori's but got no credits. And there was an event with the blue dragon standing up to bully that involved the feather but did not consume it. Any more such events? How can they all be triggered? Anf which ones will not consume feather? And do many get no credits?

Got a new copy of Robert Baldick's translation I grew up with (given I have't had my old copy for nearly ten years now). And I am excited to revisit it with the translation I read as a kid (which also is known to be one of the best ones among Verne scholars). Just was wondering given Grauben is depicted early on as sharing Axel's interest in science and actually outright says she'd come along but would only get in the way due to being a girl if any modern reimaginings or adaptations have made her come with how values have since changed. And would be a perfect way for those that wanted more female characters to appeal to women rather than invent new ones or replace male characters (like one adaptation I think replaces Hans with a woman).
