If Two Files Have The Exact Same SHA-256, Are They The Same File?

Ok so I downloaded one file for a game without checking where it was from (clicked on top search result), I then went to the official website (checked it) and downloaded the file there. When I scanned both files on virustotal, they gave the exact same page with the exact same SHA-256. If thats the case, does that mean the first file I downloaded is safe (already ran it)?

Edit: Seems like both files are genuinely the same which is reassuring, I do now have worries that the file I uploaded could have been a replacement for the actual file I downloaded but best not to overthink it, Thx for the replies.

How To Differentiate Between OCD And Being "Reasonable"

Ok what I mean by the title is that for stuff like contamination OCD, when you worry about something being clean or not and ask others (which is reassurance ik its bad), they will say "just wash it to be safe". Or with food they will say "when in doubt throw it out". Or with worries about symptoms, they will say "go to the doctor to be safe". This is all pretty sound advice but for someone with ocd, in doubt means throwing out every food, being safe means going to the dr for every little symptom or washing every thing. Essentially cuz of this I know not to take these advice since I know it will probably trigger my OCD. But, some times I wonder what is actually reasonable for an OCD person to do, like for some symptoms u genuinely should go to the doctor (such as blood in stool), or for some foods (left out for >24hrs) you obviously should throw it out, but there is that middle line thats blurry and makes it hard for an OCD person to figure out. What to do?

How To Know Which Site I Downloaded File From After Clearing History

Ok so I downloaded a game from what I am pretty sure is the official website, but after downloading the game, I cleared my browsing data which is no biggie but then after that my laptop got slow after I unlocked it randomly (resolved after restart), which now cause me to worry about malware. I still have it in my download history but not in my chrome history history and I didnt have web and app activity on. I can only get the dowwnload link from download history which gave me a link with cdn in it which is definitely not where I downloaded it from so now idk.

Is This Malware? (Downloaded File From Website)

This is a repost, but its updated to have more info.

I had uninstalled valorant 2 weeks ago to clear out space, reinstalled it yesterday through searching up play valorant and clicking the top result link to dowwnload the game. I logged into my riot account on the website using 2FA (which was sent to my email by Riot). The site also somehow knew my username (bad or good sign?). After logging in, I downloaded an exe file and launched it where I logged in again. Before I could launch it a User Account Control popup appeared for permission, I clicked ok cuz I saw it said Verified Publisher: Riot Games, Inc. After that the game downloaded and I launched it and played with friends. At first I thought things wwere fine, but from my past post, maybe not? I cant check what the actual site was since I deleted browsing data but its probably playvalorant. com.

Things I did:

  1. Put the file in VirusTotal, got a 0/68. Last analysis date: 1 day ago.
  2. Checked the files digital signature which was Riot Games, Inc.
  3. Email for verification code was sent by Riot Games cuz there was a blue tick next to it and the email was Riot's
  4. Scanned file using Microsoft Defender and was safe
  5. Cert Issued By DigiCert Trusted G4 apparently
  6. Only problem is i am unsure what site I went into but I did ask AI if playvalorant was a safe site, so its likely thats the site I entered.

So with all this info, is it malware or am I safe? Happy to give any more necessary info to help

So I went to downloaded valorant by searching up download valorant and went to the first website that popped up. I logged in and downloaded the file and downloaded valorant and it ran fine but I am worried it might be fake cuz I dont quite remember the site I dowwnloaded it from (cleared browsing data) and realized its kinda dumb to just click the first website that pops up. I checked the file properties digital signature and it said digital signature is ok and it also said Riot Games, Inc. Is this enough proof its safe or is there other methods? Scanned file with virustotal and it said clear too.

Ok so I am normally a roguelite fan since they are cheap and replayable but I have gotten a bigger budget for games this time and can only buy ONE (they cost a lot in my country). Project Zomboid Or The Binding Of Isaac (+DLCs) Or Vanilla Rimworld.

Some thoughts:

Zomboid: What interests me in this game is the survival aspects and apparently how deep and complex the game can get.

Isaac (+DLCs): Probably the one I am most likely to like since its a roguelite but I kind of want to branch to different genres and also the gore aaesthetic isnt my cup of tea (tho not a dealbreaker)

Rimworld: Probably the game I would want the most BUT DLCs for this is highly pricey even on sale so idk if I wwould get FOMO? And I dont plan to get mods so idk?

General preferences: I want a replayable game, non-multiplayer focused, no mods needed game that wont get boring and cana hook me. Difficulty isnt a problem as long as its fair.

Just a curious question I had since I feel roguelites as a genre is generally made by indie devs and is also generally less popular than other genres. But what roguelites is the most popular? Like even those outside of the genre, know of it. If you went by concurrent steam players, Slay The Spire, Isaac And Hades would win. BUT, I know people who don't know what Isaac Or Slay The Spire is, but somehow know what Brotato is or what Dead Cells is.
There are also the classics of the genre like FTL, Gungeon, Spelunky but idt those are very popular since I feel they popped off before roguelites as a genre rose in popularity.

Ok so I know the answer will obviously be yes since I am asking the community but what I am asking is related to what I heard from someone. Essentially, if I get the gist of it, Dead Cells was getting consistent updates and suddenly was forced to stop updates while it had more updates planned by the original creators or devs? I heard that due to this, Dead Cells is in an unfinished state. Many people also said this "killed" the game and I saww a highly upvoted post that the community is dying. Essentially my questions are:

  1. Is the game still worth getting (with dlcs) if its in an "unfinished" state, cuz wont that leave a sour taste?
  2. Is the community actually dying? Because even tho its a singleplayer game, I feel a sense of loneliness whenever I see a game have low players or a non-active community
  3. What do the DLCs add? Like in content?

Bonus question: I also stumbled upon a post that stated that Dead Cells opens cmd prompt during startup, is that like supposedd to happen? If I do get it, can I turn it off?

TLDR: Heard game + community is dying/unfinished, had some questions, mean no offence, thx in advance.

Ok so I have been thinking of getting Hollow Knight but I normally play roguelite games that are replayable. Ofc, I dont need Hollow Knight to be replayable but can one get 100+ hrs in the game? Also could u explain what content lets u reach said hours. Bonus question: If i dont like platforming much, would HK be a bad choice? I really like smooth combat which is why I am interest in HK in the first place.
