10 years ago today, I quit smoking

I feel like celebrating a milestone, because quitting smoking is incredibly hard.

I smoked about 2 packs a day for 15 years, starting from when I was 16. Not only was it insanely expensive but I was getting sick as well.

After multiple attempts at quitting and restarting the habit, I finally succeeded and proud to say that that I've been smoke free for a decade! 🎉

UPDATE: We forced the snow cone truck owner to give back extra money solicited from children

Hi, I just wanted to update everyone on the status of the situation involving a snow cone truck that was basically stealing money from kids. The original post is in the comments for reference.

There was a sizeable coalition of angry parents (most of us had to call in to work) that went up to the school and told the principal what has been happening after school involving kids being tricked into giving the owner "tips" but in reality was just stolen money.

The principal was appalled and contacted the truck owner. When he showed up, we issued our complaint and told him that he was stealing from kids. Although he denied the allegations, the principal brought each kid that wanted to speak down (separately and alone with principal and owner) to give a statement about what was going on. My daughter also told them what happened with her experience.

The school, with good reason, decided to terminate the contract with the truck owner and he gave back the extra money that was solicited from the kids.

Thank you all for the support.

Stupid idiots fighting in the parking lot

I got off of work today only to notice that people were rushing outside yelling, even other associates had their phones out. I just groaned because I thought I was done with Walmart drama for the day.

It turns out that there were two fools brawling in the parking lot and AP trying to break them up. Cops came and told everyone to break it up because by then there was a crowd of people screaming and yelling.

From what I heard (my nosy behind sticking around to see) it all started when one of them pushed their shopping cart and it accidentally hit the other one's car.

I'm tired, y'all. How was your day?

It's hard to find bras that both fit me and are pretty/sexy

Why is it so hard to find bras that are in gorgeous colors/materials and fit my big boobs? Most of the ones that fit me are either tan, black, or white. Where's the hot pink and animal print ones at?

I think kids are being tricked into tipping at a snow cone truck at school

My daughter's school has a snow cone truck come by after school so the kids can buy a treat. This morning I gave her a $10 bill to buy one because it's hot outside and she has to wait at least 30 minutes for her bus to take her home.

The snow cones are $5 so I expected her to bring home the change. Low and behold, she comes home without change and I asked her if she bought two (which is fine if it's for another kid who wants one). She said the guy who took her money said that the change was a tip and that is normal to do this because "all the customers (these are kids!) do".

Not to be dramatic but this sounds like theft and that the owner is possibly stealing money from kids. I feel like marching over there on Monday to demand answers but don't want to come across as unhinged.

UPDATE: My boss has been fired

I thought I'd like to share an update about my situation in which my boss made us pray with him during lunch.

After the first time it happened, he was admonished by his superior and apologized to us. A couple of weeks later, he decided to start "reevaluating" those of us who spoke out against the lunch prayers. Mind you, we've already had our evaluations and weren't due for another for a few months. It was starting to feel like retaliation.

So, we again reported him and apparently it was agreed that his actions were "inappropriate" and he was let go by the company.

So thank you for the advice and support!

I hate that taking pictures/videos of random people without their consent is normalized

It's ridiculous how anyone on social media can just start filming or take pictures of people without their knowledge or approval and post it publicly.
