How is our work culture?

I'm Tunisian but I have worked only in Germany and I have noticed that there is less bullshit and toxic politics when I work with a German manager, but I have worked with Russian, Egyptian and Slovakian people and they were super toxic, backstabbing, smear campaigns, conspiring to fire people etc. i have seen it all, how does our work culture fit between these two opposites?

Laid off and it's not fair

I got laid off before and I accepted it, this time it made me feel like shit, it started with my new manager who decided he didn't like me for whatever reason then came this toxic coworker and in the Christmas party she was talking to another girl and the poor girl was looking afraid towards me, smear campaign.

She didn't stop there, she poisoned my relationship with the product owner, project manager and started blaming me publicly for things I'm not even working on, saying "you are the blocker, not me" when I point something needs fixing from her side.

My manager took the opportunity to talk to the CTO and CEO and he convinced them to fire me.

I'm German and working in Germany but my manager is Russian, the front girl is from Slovakia and the project manager from Egypt, after some research I found out that I'm dealing with the most cut throat working culture there is, im kinda proud of myself after all the harassment and bullying all year i was gray rocking them, they fired me instead of pulling the plug and quit myself. I have deal with messed up sleep, anxiety, depression and low confidence. Now I feel great again, i still have PTSD from daily abuse but I'm taking it one day at a time. They gave me a severance but I'm suing their asses nevertheless.

Why are egyptians toxic in workplaces?

I have worked with an egyptian guy in Germany and he always acts innocent but at the same time tries to manipulate other managers to fire some colleagues, is this a normal behavior?

erhöht Abfindung nur um 1k

Hallo zusammen,

I have experienced it all

I got invited to a meeting with the CEO, CTO and my Russian manager, the CEO made all the talking to let me know my employment is over at the company, my manager who was conspiring for the whole year to let me go, was smiling the whole time, like he achieved something.

What kind of mental illness does it require to be this person?

The CEO said it's not because of my performance or I did something wrong but because they wanted to cut costs, the issue is they hired 2 new people in the team few months ago, when I asked is it only me, he said I don't wanna spread chaos but maybe 20%, then I knew he was bluffing.

I thanked the CTO for the work together because he is a good person and the CEO was trying to talk over me while I was doing that.

I'm glad it's over my manager tried to make my working conditions a living hell also through other coworkers who saw me as a competition. I had to endure a lot of bullying and harassment and even reported them using a whistleblower tool.

I'm also a union member and I already called them for the next steps

I have been going through a tough year, manager was enabling a toxic coworker to talk in an aggressive way towards me, this same coworker was whispering to others in Christmas party that I'm doing shit job and other fake stuff.

The product manager and product owner got poisoned by her lies and they started not talking to me and looking down on me, and she tries to sabotage my work and when I make a progress she say in the chat that I'm the blocker of the project not her, although I didn't mention her at all. What a mental asylum tbh.

And my manager was happy about that, anything to make my life a living hell, he even told other coworkers to counter my arguments more and push back on them for "visibility"

where would engineers pivot?

If AI can do all the coding, review, testing and maintenance, what would engineers do further?

engineers would still be required to do architecture, requirements elicitation etc. but i wouldn't expect a team to have 8 people but maybe 3, what would the rest pivot to do? is AI or machine learning would be the future?

Are most jobs toxic?

I got fired from my last job after that I told my manager that talking in a condescending way to me made me feel uncomfortable, he apologized but since then he persuaded others to rebel against me, talking aggressively to me, blame me for imaginary things and at the end report me to the CTO to fire me, they succeeded, now i don't have a job or an income.

This has left me a bit shocked and made me more anxious that most jobs are like this and people conspiring against each others, i know that my lat job was unprofessional with shitty management and culture even my manager called us glorified forms developers, but are most jobs toxic and people want to gt each other's fired?

My mistake was i k ew that the new manager was not normal and I stayed nevertheless where I should have switched teams or jobs
