# Why does AI always choose 73?

I noticed that when you ask an AI to pick a random number, it almost always defaults to 73. It turns out this number is deeply embedded in our math, history, and human psychology. Here is why the AI might actually be onto something.

Explanation by Math

  • The Mirror Effect: 73 is the 21^(st) prime number, and its mirror image[37], is the 12^(th) prime number. This means the inverse of 73 [37] = 21 [12].
  • The Product: Multiplying the digits of 73 (7 x 3) gives 21, which is exactly its position in the prime number list.
  • Binary Code: In binary (computer language), 73 is written as 1001001. It reads exactly the same backward and forward (a perfect palindrome).
  • The Morse Code Mirror: In Morse code, 7 is --... and 3 is ...--. They are literal mirror images of each other!

So why does AI always choose 73?

  • Human Psychology: When human tries to think of a random number, they instinctively avoid even numbers or numbers ending by 5. 73 just feels like the "perfect random number" to our brains.
  • Learning Bias: Do you think there are more mentions of '73' or '26' on the internet? Of course '73', thanks to The Big Bang Theory and endless math forums. The AI just copied our obsession.
  • The Oldest Tech Meme: Since 1859, telegraph operators and Ham Radio geeks have used "73" as a code for "Best Regards." Humans have been pumping this number into communication networks for over 150 years, giving AI a massive historical dataset to learn from.

Additionally

  • The Clock: A standard year has 365 days. If you divide it by 5, you get exactly 73. This means every single year is mathematically split into five perfect blocks of 73 days.

I think, I should stop overthinking just because of "perfect number"
